Well thank you! Yes they work great, I built 2, one for my boat trailer and one for my 16' utility trailer. Because I like to return home and see that my things are still in my driveway... 🤨
6011 is high penetration , used mostly for open root welding of pipe and structure. 7018 the easier and cleaner rod for the stuff you will most likely do .
Ok, my buddy told me I should try 6011(or was it 6010??)... anyway I had the amps at 105 and it was way too hot, dropped it to 90 amps and still too hot. 75 amps mighta worked, but I just switched to the 7018 that I know how to sorta weld with.
@@GrizzlyCountry well its worth trying , but its not nearly as easy to run , makes a lot more spatter and its not quite as strong. It is however a great choice for your root pass on a multi pass weld as it will give you the deepest penetration.
Internet airmchair analysts (with any lock video): Yeah but i could be broken by a crowbar, a grinder, a reciprocating saw, a sledgehammer, liquid nitrogen, gas-powered 14" abrasive chopsaw, a .50 BMG with Raufoss Mk 211 rounds, some composition 4, a 2 hour nancy pelosi speech on kindle( just put one earbud on each side of the lock)....and that lock wont hold!.....I would have...blah blah Guy making the lock: The lock will do and if not, its a $1000 trailer with dirt on it, gps tracked and i have suppressed blackout with a thermal scope....😁
Good job sir I just made one but I made like box

Looks like you might need to go up just a few amps to get that bead to flow a bit smoother . Looks pretty good otherwise .

Nothing stops a determined thief, but ya hafta at least make them work a bit.
Glad you liked the video mate.
all that and you can defeat the padlock with a battery angle grinder.....2 minutes! sorry!
Well that is sure possible but pretty noisy to do that. Since the trailer is parked in my yard, ya I'm gonna be woke up by that.💀
