I miss my male akita Bandit. He was 150 lbs and great with kids amd cats. He saved my daughter from a pit and a malamute that had packed together. He once even kept trying to break through the window to chase off a burgler. But I commanded him to stop. Best dog I ever had. Unfortunately he died from bloat. Now I have a 100lb female akita and an aussie. Both great dogs although my aussie is actually more aggressive than my akita.
I own an akita, this one is actually a very good boy. What's sucky about having an akita is that they are extremely powerful. So when they want to play, which this one does, it's seen by other dogs as aggression and fights can start. They are also dominant dogs, but my akita had the opportunity to rip apart many dogs and didn't even scratch them. Just held em down to the ground til they submitted. It's in their breed. My akita is 165 pounds, solid muscle, and his shoulders come to my waist line.
Both of your dogs are beautiful, especially your Akita. He is strong and muscular with a great head piece on him. Your German Shepherd is a beautiful dog as well I love his color pattern. Please post some more videos of these wonderful dogs we would love to see more of them.....
I had two Akitas, my last female was 110 lbs and in great shape. The Akita Rescue I went through had a male Akita, at 2+ years was 160lbs. already. This dog was big, you need to remember that the American Akita is a big dog.
They are naturally protective of their humans. They will let a stranger know don't come too close. My American Akita will make these short deep noises that sounds like they are coming from his belly then he will belt out a deep bark like he's saying, "I'm not giving anymore warnings!" I love my Akita!
I have a japanese akita, she is my big fluff ball. Gentle giant until other dogs come along as she was attacked when a pup. Except from that a really great dog, anyone that has an akita should feel nothing but pride when walking it
I've had German Shepards through my childhood days and over the last 24+ years I've rescued three Akita's. Both awesome dogs but the Akita is a warrior. They won't back down and have the power to really mess another dog up. I don't let mine do that but some neighbors have let there dogs roam. They've challenged my Akita's and they all left beat up.

highly disagree imo of course unfortunately ive seen pure bred akita vs pure bred GSD and everytime ive seen it akita just has a way of using almost like a body slam against them and just honestly whip the GSD's ass.
I personally own a akita shes an amazing dog in my opinion i would trust her with almost everything except for leaving her out while i was gone from home haha. Ive owned only purebreds for some odd reason 3 akitas 1 GSD and a pittbull. All incredible dogs in there own way The GSD was super energetic was that way all the way till the end pitt was just a super loving dog. And all my akitas were very smart and loyal i just personally love dogs but messing with a akita probably isnt a good idea.
if yo say so but generally speaking if a shepard and an akita (american type) got into a fight the shepard looses. I ddn't say the akita comes out unblemished but if they fight were allowed to continue than the shepards injuries would be far worse than the akitas the majority of the time. The akita has a huge pain threshold, goes between 110-130 pounds, has been used/bred as a pit fighter, is extremely dominant and game. If you don't know and recognize this than you are the foolish one
Cease Miller I wish you could tell that to my neighbor who owns an Akita and got severely injured when it came into our ranch and got into a fight with my German Shepherd. He is charging me for damages. He had to come into our ranch to pick up his dog as it was unable to walk. So if your theory is right my dog would have been mangled and is by pure luck I guess. So he shouldn't be bothering me with the vet bill. He thought the same thing and was baffled by the turn out. My only wish was that it never occurred. I didn't like either dog getting hurt but mine was in his territory and never wonders off.
Green Hulk it was prob not akita no gsd could take one unless he latched face. All badass dogs are competitive but Akita are the large dog with most energy. They are largest game spitz and really only spitz with very high amounts of gameness.
Making 2beautiful dogs fight is dumb . I prefer American Akita. They Rock but are a very smart primitive breed.Must be firm with them "a you must be the Alpha or watch out"!
I love my Akita but due to his dominant behaviour I can not take him to places where other dogs are playing. Most of the Akitas can not be unleashed because of their nature. So don`t take an akita if you like to go to parks and want to unleash them. In no time you can get a huge vet bill from other dog owners because they can give serious damage.
take it to the mountains, I take my rottweiler. it spends their energy and are more relaxed and behaved, it's also a perfect place where you can practice off leash commands with it making it follow the direction you want to go. Also running up hills is good exercise for them and are more fit and not overweight
I have A male American Akita. When I introduce my dog to an area with other dogs he is respectful and doesnt try to claim the territory he usualy allows the previous dogs to remain alpha on there turf, a husky once. But when they start to snap at him due to fear of my dogs size. My dog will open his mouth and place his paw over the other dogs head and pin them to the ground until they become submissive. I have had this happen a few times with a large male pit and a large male german shepard.
I liked much your video, i can see an akita with another powerful dog, but here the german shepherd was very patient. I have an akita and already has 4 months I can see will become very hard dog
To name the clip "Akita attack" is just wrong. The dogs get along fine until the toy comes in. It's not an attack! It's a " I want to play with the ball and the stick too. Give it to me!" It's unnessesary to bring in a toy in this situation when the dogs get along so good anyway. Think before you do! Throwing a ball can be fun but in the wrong situation it can go really bad.
Just because GSD's are used to take down guns and knives doesn't mean no other dogs can. The GSD's are used in the force for there smell and hearing. I'm not saying they are not powerful dogs, I have owned 1 and know they are, but there power is a bonus for there line of work. Akitas are built for muscle power and stamina and are very loyal. I have owned both and know that an akita would win in a fight, but that's not important!!
I have a 1 year old Akita that is already 100 pounds. If it did get in a fight with a 60 pound German shephard I'm pretty sure the shephard would lose :)
+3ShotGod well ... there are german shepherds from est german working lines ... at least 110 pounds ... these dogs have exceptional biting power , tremendous determination and pitbull like stamina . one of these can put your dog in mortal danger in no time .
Appreciate your love for Akitas, they're nice looking dogs. But I spent nearly a decade in the middle east and with the exception of the Belgium Malinois The GSD is far and away the best Military/police working dog, because of it's stamina.GSD I's will chase a running bad guy or enemy combatant and won't stop until they are caught, even after getting shot, kicked or stabbed I've seen it. Plus they are extremely easy to train to do tasks like finding explosives or drugs, or people. In the dog world, unless your talking about breeds designed to protect sheep from bears and tigers(Russian Ovcharka or Anotolians) bigger doesn't always mean better. The best dog fighting breed is pitbull and they are around 50-75lbs for the most part. There is a reason you mostly see GSD on police and military forces around the world.
Everyone who is talking about who would win they are both great big dogs and a gsd at 110 is not overweight I've seen much bigger healthy gsds. a 50lb gsd is a joke akitass are awesome too its just stupid that you people think like that
These Akitas have killed pitbulls with ease. They were pitfighting dogs and hunted bears and other big game for royalty and were guard dogs for emporers. For one point noone could one own one but emporers and their family. It's a powerful, extremely loyal dog, with zero fear and high pray drive. But..they tend to always be alpha whether it's among other dogs or with you. You NEED to be a strong intelligent owner or you will be the pet to that dog. Also they tend to not like other ppl or dogs/animals. Because their family and territory is their only priority. No training needed these dogs know what to do the moment there born. Now if you want a social dog that gets along with other dogs start early.
I don't know about that...but my Pit Bull sure as hell took down an Akita damn near twice his size!!! That Akita screamed like a rabbit...and ran away like a whippet. Akitas are beautiful dogs...but they're curs as fighters!!!
Both great dogs. As a general statement gsds are slightly smaller in weight and size but there are some gsd's that are equal in size. As equal sized dogs it's and even match up. It comes down to the individual dog and how he see's himself as Alpha. Generally the American Akita is a more heavy boned brut force kinda guard dog. They can be independent and thickheaded which doesn't make them the best choice for obedience necessary jobs. So that being said Akita's have many limitations to it as a breed. They're not for the novice dog owner. The gsd generally it's a little lighter in weight but more suitable for working a variety of jobs and at the same time be a family pet and excellent guard dog that's trustworthy. Every dog breed has to serve a purpose to the individual that's buying it. And that's evident when you see dogs popularity. There not much use for a big bad guard dog that's unstable these days. You can't go wrong with a 80-120lb shepherd though. That's the big difference...
I tend to disagree, I've owned Akitas and know people who do they are the best baby sitters and guard dogs ever, they are also very very smart for being service dogs if you don't know the breed then you really can't make assumptions, yes they can be stubborn if you don't know their mentality and how to train them, I've heard of more GSD aggression then any other lately that does not mean GSD's are bad, it also has to do with the owner. Akitas were bred for hunting anything big and for protection so they are and can be the most amazing dog you will ever have, they are not for everyone as most people want an easy dog to train, Akitas make you think outside the box but once you have them in sync with you, you will never have a better companion.
Akitas were breed in Japan to hunt bear. I've read that 2 full grown males can take down a bear. They have serious power and are not to be toyed with. They have a dominant jene breed into them that makes them very dangerous around other animals. German Shepherds are no match for them. Most breeds can't handle them.
karena222fu with which of your eye you saw cruelty??! c'mon these two dogs are really close friends and having fun. The way you look to life is so important dude.
because dog play can turn viscious, i saw with my own eyes a husky with a pomeranian, they can turn in a heart beat the pom died!! and the woman owned both the pom 4 yrs husky 3 yrs
+karena222fu Bullshit, unless you just watch as a pomeranian gets mauled by a siberian husky it wouldn't have died. A person would break it up before it escalated that far
The average person don't know how to break a dog fight.. There is a high chance for a wrong move that will end up you losing your fingers, or going to the hospital for deep bite marks. Sometimes it is best to let the dogs decide when to stop fighting, though in karena's case there was a drastic size difference.
Your dreaming sister lol, I had two pits a 95lb and 70lb pit and and two Akitas an American and a Inu, all at the same time... and I miss them all :( The Ameican Akita weighed 155lbs and when they got into arguements the Akita was king and not even close, Bear(akita) was so powerfull with his jaws the 95lb pit(sam) would squeal like a dog getting hit by a car! The smaller Akita 110lb was his best match!
@scarfpoop No they aren't. Taken from the American Kennel Club (because that is definitely an American Akita): Tail Large and full, set high and carried over back or against flank in a three-quarter, full, or double curl, always dipping to or below level of back. When that Akita stands still his tail touches his back.
That is a normal sized male Akita, and one who obviously has outstanding temperament not to respond to the provocation given him by his owners by giving the other dog a bone and not him. Why would anyone try to provoke a fight? And why are both dogs off leash?
i don't know why people get caught up on one breed over another breed in a fight when it depends on the individual dog when the breeds are of similar size & temperament. akitas were bred to be hunters & guardians, rottweilers & german shepherds were bred to be herders/drovers & guardians. if those dogs fight each other it would come down to individual dogs not one breed over the other.
Kuma is, if I could post a picture of him on here I would, but it won't let me do it in comments. Sometimes you don't know every thing huh? Lol. At 8 weeks he weighed 18 pounds and was 3x the size of all the other puppies. He was just one of those 'big ones' that you hear about every now and then. Which is why he had joint surgery before turning a year. But he's fine, and a big clumsy horse of a dog.
@mudshovel007 BTW, it wasn't just a dude who begat the bull & terrier crosses, genius. It was the rat baiting, bull bating & later dog fighting culture, so it was more than just a dude who had the idea of crossing the original Bulldog & White English Terrier (other terrier breeds were also used). There are many derivatives of the bulldog & terrier cross. The bull & terrier cross was REFINED & PERFECTED before America was even colonized, so this being the case; how can the APBT be the most game?
How does a dog's ability to fight after being game bred and in a pit make it a 'King of Dogs?' Surely it would depend on what you need your dog to do which determines if the dog is suitable or not and I'm sure it's a personal choice to choose your own 'King of dog's'. If this post sounds argumentative it's not my intent :)

Akita rule: "what's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine"
YES!
Best akita i seen in the world..
The colour
The physic the face, the fur ,all on point. And the size and length perfect
That's one of the most Beautiful Akitas I've ever seen.
you havend see my akita girl 😄
Yeah, but we’re all partial to our own dogs

Akitas are so much better looking. Raised Akitas for years. They run and look so much like a bear. Damn nice dogs. Not for everyone though.
TTundragrizzly deadly..
I love my Akitas!!
deadcool 2 how are they deadly? There is no such thing as a bad dog, just bad owners
Pitpulls more butifull
@@elmoL650 i hope youre joking because the dog in your pfp looks like it has dog downsyndrome.

Both dogs are so beautiful! I love the coloring on the Akita.
Nice dogs! They look like they enjoy being out with their owner stretching their legs. Both are smart, loving, and man stoppers.
Except from that a really great dog, anyone that has an akita should feel nothing but pride when walking it
Yes I love my akita he is a boy he is the best
You know that akita inu is a japanese dog but most part in asia people even dont know their name😥
I've had German Shepards through my childhood days and over the last 24+ years I've rescued three Akita's. Both awesome dogs but the Akita is a warrior. +redhead5150 - You had crappy shepherds then....
A full grown male Akita that has all the correct parts VS a full grown male German Shephard with all the correct parts. The Akita wins every time. Its a natural fact. But I have nothing against GS's. They are beautiful dogs too.
Who cares?
One good German Shephard, can easy beat Akita
didnt know dogs became a dick measuring contest for some owners
Strut and swagger is unmistakable. Akita is ALPHA here.
Do not be subjective, the alpha is the German shepherd, he keeps the resource (the trunk) and he does not allow himself to mount the akita, although the akita is a great contender, the alpha is still the German shepherd, sorry for my bad English.
With age comes wisdom, but prime time is real in every animal species including man.
My brother's a dog rehabilitating expert, He knows what can really pull you around. A akita was very dog aggressive, but the mountain dog he rehabilitated pulled him around the yard.

look at the way he moves. that dog had power. the GSD is no comparison to a correct Akita.
a correct gs from the working line would've whipped the akitas ass
Don't understand why so people want German Sheppard's, Akita's are way cooler!

Dang that Akita is BIG !!! Verry nice!
Youll never see an Akita on it's back. Unless its young or fighting an 150 pound beast. The GOAT wrestler, best balance. End of story.
That Akita looks too powerful for the Shepherd!
You're crazy.🤣
They are bred for different reasons, what a German Shepherd is great at an Akita is not and vice versa
love that color akita. Also that gms. me and my friend are gonna get some pups
Get an Akita! Akita's are so much better!
@osamabeindrinkin40s how so?

German shepherds and pitbulls, don't give up...
I don't like pitbulls, but akitas are worthless against a pitbull.
@@cantiflas777 worthless against pitbulls are they?? Lol you must be joking .

Couldn't agree more. It's like the humans were trying to start a fight or something.
I wouldn't be suprised judgeing by the title.
The germen shepard is like `get away!`
I have a Akita /pit bull mix. Smartest dog I have owned so far! Protection is hard wired!
You must have owned some dumb dogs !!!

The best dog fighting breed is pitbull and they are around 50-75lbs for the most part. There is a reason you mostly see GSD on police and military forces around the world.
Cookie Marbles Lol my gsd is pure breed and he is 58lbs he is 5 month pupper
Now if you want a social dog that gets along with other dogs start early.
lolol, i once saw a pitbull take down a whole navy seal team by itself.
Love the akita
Akitas were breed in Japan to hunt bear. I've read that 2 full grown males can take down a bear. They have serious power and are not to be toyed with. They have a dominant jene breed into them that makes them very dangerous around other animals. German Shepherds are no match for them. Most breeds can't handle them.
Two gorgeous dogs
no pensé que hubiera akita de ese color y por lo visto es fornido.
how old is that german shepherd ? and the akita too ?
akita love
What the hell do you feed that Akita on? He's a big boy!
that akita is huge
i think your akita ia still a young one?
Beautiful 🐻!!
that's a bear not a dog lol Both are beautiful they look very well looked after
tu español es bueno
karena222fu with which of your eye you saw cruelty??! c'mon these two dogs are really close friends and having fun.
I agree the german shepherd makes the akita look dumb every single time
Then you must not have owned an akita. Or if you did it was junk
@scarfpoop
No they aren't. Taken from the American Kennel Club (because that is definitely an American Akita):
Tail
Large and full, set high and carried over back or against flank in a three-quarter, full, or double curl, always dipping to or below level of back.
When that Akita stands still his tail touches his back.
obviously an irresponsible owner...
omg that akita is beautiful!
Wonderful akita!
Atikavdog realy great
That is a normal sized male Akita, and one who obviously has outstanding temperament not to respond to the provocation given him by his owners by giving the other dog a bone and not him. Why would anyone try to provoke a fight? And why are both dogs off leash?
el akita es idéntico al mío
beatiful german sheperd
i don't know why people get caught up on one breed over another breed in a fight when it depends on the individual dog when the breeds are of similar size & temperament. akitas were bred to be hunters & guardians, rottweilers & german shepherds were bred to be herders/drovers & guardians. if those dogs fight each other it would come down to individual dogs not one breed over the other.
akita looks so powerful
German Shepherd mix!? Lol
Seguirán vivos los perros ? :(
How does a dog's ability to fight after being game bred and in a pit make it a 'King of Dogs?' Surely it would depend on what you need your dog to do which determines if the dog is suitable or not and I'm sure it's a personal choice to choose your own 'King of dog's'. If this post sounds argumentative it's not my intent :)
The days was just playing, what attack?
