Security is mentioned in terms of being able to use the camera and get notifications etc. If your concern about data being stored in China from a security and data perspective... I’m not sure if this is entirely possible with this camera, but I used to do the following method with the app called iSentry for Mac/iOS… One possible solution could be opening a new dropbox account on a new gmail address and have the files automatically be uploaded into your dropbox folder. Then you can set the notifications from your dropbox/Gmail appropriately to notify you as per your needs.

Heya I don't see why not. You can log in at any time (provided it's connected) and control the camera to look around. So yea, live anytime so long as he is near a camera that can see him.
So I have seen a few people use as a baby monitor. I can't suggest it for this purpose because it was not it's design. It tracks movement not sound. So to make it work in the way you want , you have to keep the speaker communication open so it's constantly feeding sound for monitoring. It's a bypass which works.

Heya depends on how you store it. If you want to view live, you can view live no issue. But this is not surveillance it's a smart camera (even though they are practically the same). Just make sure it's connected to WiFi you can connect and view any time

The problem is the camera keeps recording all the time (continuous recording, loop recordin) making clips of 1minute each for 24 hours a day…I would like to change it so it records only when movement/events happen. The option of Home Monitoring is OFF, and even with the option OFF the Camera continuous recording. I want to stop record. I want to stop detecting movements. The problem is, I choose the option OFF (not monitoring, not detect nothing, and the Camera still recording....Can someone help me with this (the firmware is updated - 5.1.6_1066). Thank you

That's why showing video in a video is not the best because you don't know what encoding rates or reso I recorded in or nor do I know what quality the video is being watched on. That's why I opted more for unboxing and spec vs review

Because of the sensors on them (CMOS sensors) it wont make a massive difference but will be noticeable. I prefer C400 purely because of the USB-C aspect

I think the pro of getting an Apple HomeKit compatible camera is that you can use your iCloud storage to save the footage. Also if the camera detects movement it can automatically turn on lights, trigger alarms, etc.

Heya Not easily. I have tried and failed to pull the footage over IP which is what you would need to do with Debian. Unless you use Xiaomi surveillance (if it work in a Linux system) and you can export imagery to the cloud you want
Switching between wifi connections is a bit tricky or trial and usually errors. Sometimes i wonder how i ever het reconnected after so many resets and re-pairings and delete / add device. What steps to make as a sure way to switch between wifi connections for the device? I have a c200 and a c400 and both confuse me when i switch networks (either locations or networks)
Hey there is a way but it becomes technical. Most WiFi devices are dynamic in nature meaning their IP addresses will change every time they are turned on and off (most times). You can assign IP addresses and make them static. You can do this in windows or in the router (windows is generally easier)

In the My Home app you can set up a Family and grant them access to one or all conected divices. Me and the wife use it to monitor our children while away and the baby while its sleep alone while im working upstairs. The sound is extrodinary good.

File bumping to NAS is not supported on C400. C300 is able to save files onto your local NAS.

By the time you get the notification, there should be a video in the cloud.. You do have to pay for that however ($5/month)
I use D-Link CCTV for this purpose. It can send a few frames before and after the event to your email. It can also send to ftp server.

That sounds odd as you have all the settings correctly. Try factory reset the data and re input the settings you need. Let me know if this works

No unfortunately not. You will have to do a 5v adaption to wall if you want clean or you need to connect to power bank

Is it possible to connect the camera with a pc running Debian and use a folder mapped on the computer to save data instead of the cloud service?

Not easily.
I have tried and failed to pull the footage over IP which is what you would need to do with Debian. Unless you use Xiaomi surveillance (if it work in a Linux system) and you can export imagery to the cloud you want
Switching between wifi connections is a bit tricky or trial and usually errors. Sometimes i wonder how i ever het reconnected after so many resets and re-pairings and delete / add device.
What steps to make as a sure way to switch between wifi connections for the device? I have a c200 and a c400 and both confuse me when i switch networks (either locations or networks)
Hey there is a way but it becomes technical. Most WiFi devices are dynamic in nature meaning their IP addresses will change every time they are turned on and off (most times). You can assign IP addresses and make them static.
You can do this in windows or in the router (windows is generally easier)

I'm in research for Baby monitors at the moment which I find too pricey.

Heya. It can be used as one but I don't recommend it. Some people do , but a baby monitor has more sensitive settings. Personally I would not if it were my baby. I would buy the proper thing. But it can yea

In the My Home app you can set up a Family and grant them access to one or all conected divices. Me and the wife use it to monitor our children while away and the baby while its sleep alone while im working upstairs. The sound is extrodinary good.

Great question. So the units that were flown into South Africa had no batteries. But other regions have batteries. You need to check for the region you are in.

Subscription is only for cloud. You can still do SD without subscription.
@@WootDini Thanks for checking. It is then very very badly communicated to the customers. It does not say anywhere if I we can access the videos saved to SD card remotely. Hopefully they will clarify all of this...
