Every Poets songs/album and music tells a theme or story. This was a continuation from False King. Sleep doesn't have an official MV.

My Dark Disquiet is also used in the game Control and the video could be inspired by the game itself. Take Control suggested by Matias above is also from the game Control (I think it is the credits song of the game)

I find Sleep to be a bit sleepy for me. But I've recently rediscovered My Dark Disquiet, and it runs through my head a lot as I go about my piano tuning day. I especially like the Poets music videos that give the audience a glimpse of the band playing during the unfolding story. I think Marko had a funky eye sometimes in the video for False Kings also.

Oh yes. Their music videos tell stories..and then you suddenly start noticing how the stories might be connected...

@@Reckyj Not all of them (and this is just my interpretation) but I think False Kings, My Dark Disquiet and Lift are connected. I think the character in My Dark Disquiet is the shadow self of Marko in False Kings (you remember the crazy white eye and scars, right?). And Lift is the aftermath.

Old or new, Poets Of The Fall slaps incredibly hard. The fact that they've got elements of AOR, alternative rock, symphonic rock and even a little new wave appeals to my diverse music taste.

I know what it`s like to love a band. My love for life is Abba. Has been since the -70`s and will always be. I also love Dimash. I am a dear. Among the best is also Nightwish, the Tarja era. And Tarja solo. What a voice. I like Sleep more live than the album version. Just like Wintersun; way better live.

  • @Wings4Living1

Recky, you crack me up. The Poets often have a slower part in the songs before a crescendo hits or a mood change, like building up to it and you use that moment to STOP to share your thoughts (which I get completely) and you miss the flow :) I really hope, you listen to them in one go in a quiet moment again to get the full impact.

They have a friend at Remedy that wrote a poem that he wanted to be in Max Payne and it became Late Goodbye, and in turn that song became their first single and really started their journey. They have been featured in every Every Remedy game since too. They use the name 'Old Guards of Asgard' for some of the songs they use in Remedy's games.

False Kings he had the milky eye, most will have something to do with that side of his face I don't know why I'm sure someone who's more into social media could tell ya.
Sleep is slow song lullaby if you will. 'Moonlight Kissed' more piano I'm just saying 😊 Love will come to You I wanna say almost country or country rock maybe it's the different guitar solo IDK, Daze and Cradled in Love different voice style
As far as their actual videos with more up-beat tempo would be (in no particular order btw): Daze, Lift, Ultimate Fling, Locking up the Sun, Dimonds for Tears, Fire, Can you Hear Me.
🤔😃No videos but their video game band name is Old Gods of Asgard, they sound like 80's early 90's hair band 'Balance Slays the Demon' 'Children of the Elder God'...'Control' I actually don't remember it might be more like My Dark Disquiet.
I too thought people were weird to have a Favorite-Favorite band because I liked wAy too many and too many styles of music. Unfortunately for me to find a Favorite-Favorite band it took 20yrs, 10 of those years I spent in a mourning fog for our son until hubby found Peots of the Fall through playing a video game, then I was gonna buy him some PotF albums for Valentine's Day so I put their songs all on a list (back before all this pausing bullshit RUclips started annoying us with) popped on headphones to see if anymore sounded as good as Carnival of Rust (like I would have known at that point music was background noise only other people picked,) anyways I fell asleep their song "Dawn" I heard in a dream with our son, dream-self ugly cried I woke up to the line 'I'll be standing next to you', really loud in my ear I felt peaceful fog lifted Favorite band born in my heart. I don't go fangirl crazy over every song, there is some I can take or leave as with ALL bands, artists, what-have-ya. But yes the whole how people can get all emotionally crazy just meeting/going to concert/what-have-ya that's still too weird to understand.

Alesha, thank you so much for sharing. To feel love for a band is a great feeling. Well, to idolize. I never had band or a music performer get me to a spot like that. "fangirl" made me laugh. So thanks for that. The word i mean. For me 1 person get me to actually be a "fan boy" I said it in the video, so hence to why i can relate. Your story was wonderful to read. And it means so much for me that you took your time to tell me that story. Gods of Asgard is something i most definitely will take a look at. You mentioned that they sounded like 80-90 band, im that is my era. So now im even more intrigued. =) =)

Nothing beats the studio version of a song. That's the defacto version that any band wants. :)
And, yeah, I told you that 'Sleep' would be very slow. XD
My problems with their newer stuff isn't that it's necessarily bad (except for the Clearview album, that was bad [except for Moonlight Kissed]). It's that they've deviated from their previous sound. But, I've mentioned all of this before. They used to be way more rock, and more traditional alt-rock. Their music just became too synthetic sounding for me. Started sounding fake. :(
Someone else suggested Revolution Roulette. That's a good one. I do like their song 'More'... more, but RR is great.
RR (the album) is the most ROCK album they have (aside from their videogame stuff). If you don't do reactions to all the songs, I'd suggest listening to the album on your own, if you want that is. It still has some slow songs in it, but it's mostly faster stuff.
Anyway, thanks for doing my suggestions. :)
