- MTJP | Smoky Mountains is a visually stunning journey through Great Smoky Mountain National Park during peak fall color.
This video is the culmination of two weeks exploring Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We chose Great Smoky Mountains as our second park because of it's extraordinary display of fall colors, it's incredibly diverse wildlife population, and it's importance as the most visited national park in the country. This film was shot entirely in 4K UHD.
We chose to capture this park in the Fall as it is home to one of the most wonderful displays of fall foliage on the planet. Fall is also a wonderful time to watch the elk rutting season and experience cooler, less humid temperatures.
Situated in Tennessee & North Carolina Great Smoky Mountain is one a handful of southern National Parks.

She traveled the Smokies and Balsams as a high school basketball cheerleader and clogging dance team member. Her school was too small for other sports. Got letters and ribbons for her sweater. Never saw her dance or on the court. Met her too late for that. The video is perfect; things we saw all the time as we courted. Courtship turned to marriage for 60 years. Had to lay her to rest way up high in Smokies.

I love the video and live here. I am about to head out for the Oconaluftee Village to see some of my relatives. Guys make more of these. I'm working on trying to teach people to stay clear of the Black Bear in the park. They are being euthanized and put down just because people don't recognize them as a wild animal and not a play thing. Even the cubs are being euthanized. Senseless waste. It is the time of year that God is using his paintbrush on the mountains. Thanks again and I will go now but will be watching for more.

I really depends on the year, but usually late October is peak fall foliage. There are websites that track the weather and will predict when this year's peak will be.
