Obrigado Jeff & André! I was left a bottle from that winery in my Machico Airbnb & I truly appreciated such warmth from your Madeiran hospitality! That 1971 bottle definitely tickled my fancy as that year is significant to me what with it being the year of independence of Bangladesh, the country I was born in. Congrats on hitting 6000 subscribers! I'm just over one third of the way of reaching my magical goal of 1000 by the end of the year, & my forthcoming trip in November to Bangladesh is sure to help as they adore RUclips over there! Take care & have a truly beautiful week my friends ☺🍷
Brilliant video - super informative. I am now dying to get back to Madeira to try out the wines, now that I know what's what 🍷PS: had such a giggle on D.O.P., as an ex S-African you'll know why 😜
Hey buddy..."good job on this vlog", always the best Supper-Dupper Cosmic touring guide on the island.. haha.. You now deserve the right to paste a Madeira wine bottle logo on the back of that supper dupper camping outfit.... better still on that new Discovery touring truck... 6k Wow...seems like only yesterday it was hovering around 1K.. Congrats on all the hard work to you and Andreas. Just a note "CatembaSeptember" for all us practicing wine connoisseurs, here, has been religiously adhered to yealy (all twelve months of my creation), can't do without..lol. Anyway look forward to hooking up with "Hit the Road" again...
Fascinating Vlog about Madeira wine! I really love watching this channel as it is a celebration of Madeira culture and also full of local insider knowledge. So excited about my trip in March and Hit The Road Madeira sunset tour! 🔥 🔥🔥
Just stumbled on this video. Very well made, no-nonsense explanation of madeira wines as I've heard of it but never tasted any. We're visiting Madeira this year, so look out for the drunkest guy at the farm. I can't wait to mouth madeira gold. Also, I thought Katemba was South african. 😂 Cheers and keep well.
I thought Katemba was Portuguese 😂😂 I guess Angolan is close enough ;)) Yeah madeira wine is something special, you’re in for a treat Claude! Have a fantastic weekend my friend ✌️🤠
Been to D”Olivieras enjoyed all of it -as my adult kids are not really into Madeira wine and hubby was driving - I had mine and the kids and didn’t get drunk 😂😂😂 together with some bolo de Mel it was a wonderful experience 😂😂 Love the video Jeff 🎉🎉🎉
I wish I knew how to taste notes bud 😂 Thanx for the input though 🙏 we’ve got wine videos planned for September, I’ll try remember the notes ;) cheers ✌️
Even rarer grapes used in Madeira are Muscatel , and Bastardo . The age of the wine is the age at which it was bottled so for instance a 1900 wine bottled in 1950 is 50 years old . Its a bit misleading to say that its older as it does not age in bottle only in cask .
Thank you Andre 🙏 Yea, wine doesn’t age in the bottle, 100% I’m going to look into the moscatel and bastardo, had heard we were growing bastardo, don’t know much about moscatel, so something to explore ;) Thank you very much for sticking around and have a great Sunday 🤠
Amazing video. So well done. You are really doing a great job celebrating and sharing Madeira`s culture. Keep on going!
Thank you very much my friend 🙏

Buy a bottle with your birth year on it and keep it, only to be opened at your wake as a celebration of life.
Part of me feels uneasy about this 😂
But yes, good idea !!
