What was your biggest takeaway from this interview?
Super excited!!!
I am. I've seen a few interviews of his in the past and It'll be interesting to hear from him again.
Very much so, teach me
Way to go Patrick!
How long is the interview?
“Besides killing everybody what’d we do wrong”
Priceless
I always look forward to hearing Phil Leonetti in interviews. He's completely honest and speaks from the heart about his life. Just like the Sammy the bull interview. These Mafiosi guys in 2020 are telling what it was really like back then. Incredible times we are living in.
Hes not crazy anymore, because he wised up before it was to late.
They all knew the stakes. No civilians!
Your taking that out of context. He was referring to his uncle getting upset with him.
Evil moron. Eternity in hell.....
It's like he's having a conversation when a character that hasn't been unlocked yet.
Há hhahahha you just made me die laughing
hahahahaha
Lmao!
🤣😭
Mmmm
Idk how Hollywood hasn't turned Phil's book 'mafia prince' into a movie or at the least a tv series. There are so many interesting characters full of violence, comedy and tragedy.
It's kind of a mystery why Leonetti hasn't cashed in on his notoriety like so many other mobsters. Maybe he just wants to cut all ties with his past.
I think Mafia Prince would make a great movie. Family, betrayal, violence, regret. A young fatherless kid idolizes his uncle then must sacrifice the uncle to find himself.
@RStevenPage it's crazy because even Sammy talks good about Phil and said he was always respectful. If Phil would go on Sammy's podcast and then create a channel himself he would be banking!$ 💰
@@ShaunKang69 Man, I would love to hear him go at it with Joey Merlino. In his book, Leonetti called Merlino a punk kid. He suspected Merlino was skimming a few hundred off the envelopes passed to Scarfo.
Joey merlino would have an amazing film ! That would be huge in box office forsure ! But to find the right actor for Joey would be kind of difficult, not sure who can play him!
@@TheBaBaTV But I don't see a character arc there. We don't have an ending or redemption. I suppose you can make a movie out of anything though.
Pat : what’s the funnest part about being a gangster?
Leonetti : The boat 🚤
🤣😂
Patrick has the funniest interviewing moments to me, he'll be like
Phil "So I ordered a burger"
Patrick "What do you mean you ordered a burger? Was it a cheeseburger? Was there lettuce? Tomato? "
Phil "Yes there was lettuce and I wound up eating the burger"
Patrick "There was lettuce.. and you wound up eating the burger...interesting"
Phil: "Well yeah.. that's what I just sa-"
(cuts Phil off)
Patrick: "Got it"
(starts to doodle a cheeseburger as a serious note he may need to fall back on)
Patrick “Now let me ask you..are you a fan of basketball?”
Underrated comment 😂😂😂
got it.
@CelticBommer he defo a bad listener and weak to no follow up question that are deeper.
Or no?
LMFAOOOOOOOOO😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Patrick: now tell us what was that cheeseburger like?
Patrick: At what point should we begin this interview?
Phil: When you ask the first question.
Patrick: Interesting.
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Idk y this killed me LMFAO

The best mobsters always seem to have really photographic memories, making their storytelling really engaging. Philseemed really respectful and had no issue correcting any misconceptions or wrong IDs. Smooth operator
Photographic memory.." especially, when snitching
@@scottchicago95 😂😂😂
You dont forget killing people. Lol
It’s because they live a very dangerous life and are always on edge so it’s important to remember every detail… it’s like if you had a big exam every week, so when you study, your brain has to retain every detail because of the big test at the end of the week…
Most people live uninteresting lives, they can’t tell you what they did last week, it’s not important… but if they were in a fight, they might remember every detail leading up to and after the fight!
I'm surprised these old guys can remember dates as well. They have to have a higher than normal iq. Not genius level but higher than normal.
The way Phil takes it upon himself to swipe the Tablet to get Salvies face off the screen was pretty emotional. You can tell he's still absolutely beaten down over his death.
Watched this 3 or 4 times and never realised that thanks for pointing it out
His voice catches and you can hear his grief in his voice as well.
True Cosa Nostra
Time stamp?
Phil "besides killing everybody what really did we do that was so bad"
😂🤣💀
I find Phil Leonetti to be the most honest of all ex gangsters he tells it as it was.. straight from the heart. Great interview.
He’s an egomaniac
just like everybody from the Scarfo family
That was his uncle
->all show
Theyll say anything
No honesty , just making himself look like a victim . HE CHOSE that life and he's trying to blame Scarfo .
whaley coyote When the adults you admire make you think killing is natural when you are 9 yrs old, you are a victim. At some point he should have broke ties with his uncle but we know what happens next.
@@HamiltonRb dude , don't believe everything you hear , if so Scarfos children would be in the same situation .
And if you believe especially in that " he took me in the truck to dispose of a body at 7-8 y.o." story , then you are just gullible , which tells that you are likely a nice person . DON'T BELIEVE CRIMINALS ! Manipulation and good lying are essential skills they have to obtain in order to survive
whaley coyote Well I know these guys as much as you do, which is not at all, so you can only listen to an interview, judge for yourself, but the fact that one of Nicky’s kids are doing 30 yrs and the other killed himself, tells me how sick this guy was to bring his family into his life
A movie about the SCARFO era would make the next big screen mobster masterpiece. A redemption for the horror known as Travolta's "Gotti" .....
As soon as travolta opened his mouth i had to stop watching lol.
That acting was so bad.
Hope they do a remake of The Gotti movie 🎥. I couldn’t get past the 1st 10mins unfortunately.

Nick Scarfo HBOs Gotti is the best , Asante captures Gotti 100%
no it wouldn't, and everything doesn't have to be a movie.
It blows my mind how well Patrick does his research before these interviews. He talks with the interviewees as if he knows them personally and was there with them while these stories were taking place.
real talk!
@Michael Jurek yes but he then has to remember all that and pulls it off without stuttering
Agree Patrick did his research for sure!!!
That's because he reads they books & I'm pretty sure he watches they lil documentaries they be having on them on RUclips or on the history channel or national geographic 💪🏽I live pats interviews 💯🗣️💪🏽
Research?😂 he asks all these questions like he doesnt know anything!
I can tell you this: in the US Military I came across several “leaders” that didn’t deserve personal loyalty. They were in it for themselves personally. They would even set their subordinates up for the fall. Incredible. So, I can see why people like Sammy and Phil did what they did. Loyalty does go both ways.
Sami is a piece of shit 💩
Gotti never betrayed on Sammy, Sammy used Gotti all those years.
Gotti badmouthed everyone (the exception of Chin gigante) and it was part of his character, he didn’t had bad intentions.
he saw that sammy kills everybody and steals their money and doesn't give anything to anyone, remember that the tapes was recorded in 1988 and Sammy at that time was consigliere and in 89 he became the underboss, so there was no danger to Sammy from gotti.
Gravano is a serial killer without any conscience or remorse. Someone who killed his own brother-in-law and a innocent 16-year-old kid just because he was afraid that the kid would maybe testify (Mikey Scars said the same thing).
He’s an evil person. He’s a liar
As a military retiree reference your comment that’s because the military doesn’t have many leaders it has managers BUT most play mind games and are garbage.
Lol sammy had no loyalty, he whacked everyone he could, then told on 38 people not just Gotti
Most people won't understand what you mean, I do.

Mafia Prince is an excellent book if you’re into crime books and the criminal mind.
Mathew Mcdonald one of the great mob books

Mathew Mcdonald the audio is even better.
Excellent Book!
There's also the audio book thats on here I listened to it which brought me here
I listened to his book Mafia Prince on Audible and it was like listening to a mafioso tell you about his day to day. Great content for mafia fans
The irony……. Chucky turns down a Consigliere’s ugly daughter and gets away with it…….years later Salvie was killed because he didn’t want to marry Chucky’s daughter. And Scarfo’s little paranoid ass was scared that Salvie was worthy of being BOSS, so he used chucky’s daughter to justify the hit.
Salvi Testa is why the mob is the wrong road. The guy did everything right, everything . Good kid. What happens? Scarfo kills him because hes too good and hes rising too fast.
Good kid? The guy was a stone cold killer who wouldn't hesitate to kill women and children if they were on his way during a hit. Don't let his sweet looking face fool you, go and read the stories about him to see how good kid he was.
@@Neodreth Tru but according to mob rules he did wat he was supposed to. Followed the orders he was supposed 2
I think he killed because he feared salvie
@@Neodreth Really? I didn't get that vibe from him watching the few documentaries concerning Scarfo and the Philly Mob. Yes, he was a stone-cold killer and a true Mafioso according to Nick 'The Crow' Caramandi, but he didn't appear to be someone who would kill innocent bystanders. I could be very wrong, of course, but Scarfo seemed more likely to do that sort of thing than Salvie Testa.
@Quiche Lorraine i mean he was like a son to him his father got killed also he could take care of him
The hit on Salvatore Testa was the beginning of the end for Scarfo
Testa was very loyal to scarfo, who phil had considered to be just like a blood brother. And i do believe, that when Nicky had mudered testa, it instantly changed phils opinions regarding his homicidal uncle from that point on.

I know he said that the guys he killed were evil, and would kill him in a second, but I can't help but remark at how cold he is about the fact that he killed another human being. I mean, morally, you are taking another's life willingly and happily. I am not trying to be judgmental, but more comprehend the psychology of it all.
Very true real version of the Philly mob in the 70’s and 80’s . Those guys were tough and ruthless. They didn’t chase after stars or celebrities , they had their own thing, this was probably the best description of that life I’ve ever heard.

I grew up in South Philly.70's and 80's.PENROSE Avenue.I went to Vare Jr.High School and Southern.Hung at the Lakes.Walking by G.C.MURPHY'S on 20th and Oregon by Mosconi's pool hall. Then walking through the park past The Chicken Man's blowed up porch.Bodies was being found EVERYWHERE back then.I remember a Leonetti funeral parlor down from Bambi Cleaners and Methodist Hospital on Broad street.Oh'yeah.I remember those days---
I went to Bregy Elementary at 17 and Bigler with John Veasy. He always stayed in trouble.ALWAYS a tough kid-
i just finished listening to the audio and ordered the book, i absolutely loved every bit of it and didnt want it to end . im not even asked about the movie because it isnt gonna beat the book.
One of the best Patrick interviews ❤
Top interview 👍
Lol, he still coming at skinny Joey till this day; "I used to call him Jose" 😂😂😂😂!
@simon says you right, I knew I spelled it wrong
SKINNY Told all NYC. To stand down. This our city.. gotta respect tf out of em for that
Steve Smith he just mad he is a rat and not respected anymore because he couldn’t stand the kitchen meanwhile you got skinny Joey doing backflips in his cell while still being a loyal and stand up guy.
I have nothing but respect for skinny Joey with all the shit the fbi has put him thru
@Dorian Graye
YEAH ME AN UR DAUGHTER WENT 2G......
@Johnny Fosco Mob Tours Because he looked Mexican he said.. lol.
He was a good basketball player but didn't have the making of a varsity athlete
Ashley Pope hands too small
Ashley Pope is that a line from the Sopranos?😂 uncle junior to tony.
"He's a faaaaaggg!"
@jerry cruz "I guess you can call that a dick?" Hehehehe
“Veal parmesan sandwich.......fuck you”
Fantastic interview, probably best I’ve seen.
one of the best interviews out there.
I love this shit. I could listen to these stories every day. Keep them coming!
Just shows how a person can appear normal, but deep down they’re a clinical psychopath. No remorse whatsoever.
well put.....My exact point said in a different way definitely a SMOOTH killer..YEAH THAT FAMILY MENT BUSINESS
Great interview 👏
As usual. An excellent interview.
I loved this interview. The most honest and revealing. A nice reminder that there is no honor among thieves!
Cant wait for the full interview. A lot of the story Phil's telling is in his book. That book is one of the best I've read, details of the life in every aspect. Definitely worth a read, RUclips has the audio version but its split into 5 or 6 video's if you dont like to read. Great job Valuetainment, nobody getting interviews like you guy's. Keep up the great work
Enrique Chavez fuck him he’s a rat.
@@vishansilva8546 Sit down. You're not a gangster, RUclips punk.
@@vishansilva8546 Scarfo was a crazy nut. He killed Salvie Testa. He deserved to get taken down.
Great audiobook
The audiobook is fantastic.
Love this interview. Watched it 3x over the last year.
Thank you for these well-executed interviews Patrick
Phil is 67 years old he's been out of the mob since 1989. Out of prison since 1992. Married since 1993 and has never been in trouble a day since. He's moved from Florida to North Carolina then to the west coast. He's had many successful businesses over the years. He's a husband, father, and grandfather. He stays in shadows for one big reason. He has a lot of friends over the past 30 years in his new identity and surely he doesn't want to talk about the past. Plus psychos are everywhere out there.
What a man
Good point
One thing I’ve learned from watching all these mobster interviews is that every single one of them remembers the name of every person they’ve ever associated with. 30,40 years later.
Probably cause if they were drunks and junkies they wouldn't be alive so maybe that's why? Lol. Just speculation on my part. Lol.
First and last name at that..lol
V P Research, they are lying about lots of stuff
Goodfella I don’t think so. This is what they did all day. They’re not like civilians that have different facets of life and too many things to remember. They had just one thing to do and think about all day. Doing mob things and killing people. Also when you kill people it’s not easy to get over the memory.
I guess it’s part of the job
Cuz still not showing his face ppl say the mob is gone so what's he scared of then??🤔🤔🤔
None of these names sound real like they sound like ones you’d make up to make fun of the NY Italians😂
Suggestion box: Would like to see an interview conducted with Jerry Capeci, America's foremost expert on Organized Crime. As an investigative journalist he can talk about a variety of topics, dispelling urban myths repeated throughout mob history, the current climate and who's who of today's Cosa Nostra, etc. I think it would make for an interesting interview.
Who’s who of todays cosa nostra? You think a journalist is gonna start naming current mob guys for youtube and not face consequences lol come on Buddy be smarter than that.
@@santinorocco497 You obviously don't know who Jerry Capeci is. He does what you claim will be consequences over for a living every month with his ganglandnews website. BTW-This is the United States of America. We're not living in Sicily. Journalists are never targeted. You're watching too many Mafia movies. Real guys that ratted are walking around openly and have podcasts. Let me know when any of them face any consequences, since you know so much.
I’d be here for that interview. Jerry knows his shit regarding the life!
The Gotti’s (Gotti Sr) was the worst thing to ever happen to the mafia. Degenerate gambler who was the downfall.
@White boy Wild No he doesn't. Jerry has been around way longer than Junior and doing his thing since before Junior was made. Jerry goes back to the mid '70s when he crashed Carlo Gambino's funeral. Capeci probably wouldn't even agree to ever sit down with Valuetainment.
"Mafia Prince" is a great book. Highly recommend.
MrAitraining just finished it 👍
Thanks for the recommendation.
Boom! A really great read!
The audio book on RUclips 6 parts. It's also pretty good. I enjoyed the voice actor.
Oh nice man thanks, will add it to my must read list!
PBD Is best interviewer I have seen.
Philly, Detroit, New Orleans get overlooked when it comes to the Mafia due to NYC (NJ) and Chicago
Could listen to Phil Leonetti talk all day ! Awesome stuff and interview ! Wish Phil would do more stuff.
Phil is an amazing man to have survived living his life in the mob. I wish him all the best.
An amazing man who killed people and was in the mob? Y’all are delusional.
See most youtubers think that quantity is valuable and the quality of their videos suck so they strive to put something together, daily...it's nice to see someone with a budget and put the time and effort into interviewing these guys..nice locations...the whole ball a wax...good job!
Thank you Patrick! Your interviews are great and very interesting. You have great techniques to get the most out of every interview. Much respect man!
I Subscribed to your Channel 1st Subscribed!💯
This interview hit really close to home. I was young but I remember seeing Phil around in South Philly from time to time. Always heard he was a good guy but was more or less forced into the life. Used to see a lot of the gangsters on the block. For those of you that don’t know, South Philly was always predominately an Italian, Irish & German neighborhood and each “descent” pretty much lived on their own blocks. Growing up we looked out for each other and we never really had to worry about anything. You could’ve went to bed with the doors unlocked and the windows wide open and never had a problem in a million years. That’s how it was then. Different story nowadays - Great interview really enjoyed it!
Phil Leonetti isn’t from south Philly he’s from south jersey
@@phillosc lmao 🤣
@@phillosc hes from both actually
Wish Phil would do more interviews
they only justify ratting or consider it when caught and in jail ... true cowards
I felt bad for him, he was groomed since childhood into that gangster life, it's great that he managed to turn his life around.
Oh yeah, he's a real sweetheart
Only reason he got out that life is because he got caught and he didn't want to go to prison for life. So he snitched but before he got caught by the feds , he was a murderer and at one second in charge little Nicky underboss
Turned his life around, are you kidding!
@glennmartin6688 wrong he was already convicted before he turned. I think he got a 45 year sentence then he snitched
Hes got a brain. He wanted the mob life. Thats why he got in. Power money women
Me personally , I thought this was one of the more interesting mob interviews to date . I actually already listened to Phil’s book narrated . It’s a gem
You have to be crazy to be in the mob and all these crazy guys thought Nicky scafo was crazy. How crazy is that? He scared all these scary guys. 😂
Patrick Ben David you gotta let him finish answering your naiive citizen questions .. it gets good when Phil openly talks
KING PATRICK. Amazing interview. Now try and get a interview with Joe Massino. The Bannono boss who flipped. They used to call him the last Don. He even planned the hit on the 3 captains. He’s in witness protection now. You can doit champ.
Don't think that'll ever happened any time soon. Just the same as Sammy and Phil, give it about 10 years maybe then it's possible that he'll do a RUclips interview (If he's even alive by then.)
Fuck this would be a good one!!
Phil leonetti never had the makings of a varsity athlete....
But I understand that he was a hella good "BASKET BALL ATHLETE" while at philly high school tho.
Uncle junior
🤭🤭🤭🤭
🤪
@andre jones
Then BADA BOOM BOOM maybe!. Uc if it wasn't for phils murderous psycho uncle, then maybe phil could had became a proud NBA athlete, while srill in his prime.
Hell no!
THIS WAS AN INCREDIBLE INTERVIEW
Great interview.
Man. Mind blowing. When is Valuetainment gonna collab with Netflix?
Ew no dude. Why have him join the mainstream? I'd rather he buy bitchute and move there
