I see there has been a debate regarding what Dr Barker says at 34:00 regarding "no sign of hypoxia in brain and heart". This can see be interpreted out of context, from a non-medical perspective. From a medical point of view, what Dr Baker is alluding to is the fact that Mr Floyd did not have a myocardial infarction or a non-haemorrhagic stroke. This simply means that the end organs (heart and brain) did not fail because of an intrinsic pathology. i.e. his coronary artery disease did not cause an infarction (or death due to hypoxia) of the heart muscle, which could have lead to PEA and death. If that was the case, part 1 of the death certificate would have been myocardial infarction, and part two would have been restraining - as this would mean the action of the police officer was only contributing but not the cause of his death. As the end organs did not show sign of hypoxia, this means that there was in fact asphyxia which caused the reduction in oxygen supply, which lead to PEA and death. In post mortem of an individual who committed suicide by mode of hanging, for example, there would also not be a sign of "hypoxia or lack of blood flow in heart or brain". I hope it makes sense.

@trina8muffin, Did you listen to the Medical Examiner? Homicide is the manner of death of which there are 5 MEs can choose to classify a death. He said it is used as a "medical term, not a legal term" for their purposes. Therefore, homicide does not always equal murder. In this case, the State did choose to bring charges against Chauvin, but according to the ME's testimony, there were multiple *"causes of death"* and notice what the State's Attorney *did not* bring up -- Injuries to Floyd's neck. There weren't any. He did ask about the back to establish there were no injuries found. IMO, this entire thing was a horrible situation. George Floyd's health, the drugs he used, his actions, *plus* Chauvin's lack of care for Mr. Floyd when he lost consciousness, all went wrong. The hold Chauvin used does look like a lot of pressure and body weight is applied to the neck, especially from the camera angle of the bystander, but the autopsy shows that to be false. There are no bruises, no injuries to the neck or throat. The facial injuries are from Floyd moving his head and scraping his own face on the street. We saw that on the video. Finally, the ME concluded Floyd's heart condition was the main culprit in his death; His body could not take the adrenaline rush during the altercation with police and this particular restraint hold they used. You have to look at both sides objectively. The State has the Burden of Proof in that they must prove 'beyond a reasonable doubt' that Chauvin contributed to Floyd's death. Grossly normal means largely without any major deviations, obstructions, scarring, arrhythmia, or damaged heart tissue and or heart muscle damage..when the chief medical examiner can accurately and adequately assess that their are no major heart defections, it is not a necessity to photograph and admit into evidence during a murder trial; it is perceived as irrelevancy. But noted that George Floyd had atherosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease condition that enlarges the heart and needs more oxygen than the average person does; the ME summarized that particular condition could have played a role in his cause and manner of death ; the subduo restraint and neck compression caused his death kneeling on George Flloyds neck for approximately 9 minutes in conjunction with the knee to his back making it virtually impossible for his diaphragm to successfully expand and contract his diaphragm muscles and rib cage muscles. The officers had him pancaked and sandwiched against the asphalt causing all those other injuries to his face and shoulders and possibly fingers that and the constriction of his abdominal muscles and the ability for the pump handle breathing to breathe regularly as described my Dr. Martin Tobin thr Pulmonologist..

The police officer should go to prison
But I am concerned about Derek Chauvin. What on earth is he writing??, a book?
Don't be concerned about him....be concerned about your neighborhood when blm riots start....time for shopping for 4 of July....
Drawing up plans for some new restraint holds that are.....let's say are effective and work quicker BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,
Does anyone no of chauvin will take the stand?
@@LegendLength cant wait to see what he has to say about it all and what his escuse will be not to check up on g.f
@@LegendLength true i agree
Hopefully he doesn’t. Is normally in the best interest of the defendant to stay off the stand.
How aweful to have to be cut open like that, insides taken out, due to killer cops murderous actions - sad
LMMFAO
Sad for anyone to be cut up and have their insides taken out for ANY reason
Always RIP 🕊️ Floyd ❤ awe when the Lawyer said “put the photos away” he did that for out of respect for the family of Floyd! He got upset at them u can tell 😢😢
@20:52- " grossly normal " ? 🤔
To the eye....
7:19 onwards 🥲🥲🥲🤢 oh...
What's with the witnesses life stories? No wonder these trials take forever.
So the jury knows their qualifications
Establishes their credentials.
No way to prove asphyxia in this case.
WHY CAN'T WE SEE ANY OF THE EXHIBITS??!!!
They're probably very graphic
To respect the privacy of the decedent
Ok Dr. Explain to us why Floyd kept saying that he couldn't breath before the officers got on top of him? What was asphyxiating him before the officers asphyxiatited him, hhhmmmm?
He was having an anxiety attack, which causes shortness of breath. He also had claustrophobia which he told the officers he had, that's why he was saying he couldn't breath.
@@ivanperez5354 , yes. Or he was having excited delirium. I looked it up. It said you MAY have x,y,z symptoms. So a witness was misleading when he said, no because he didn't have, x,y, or z.
@@ivanperez5354 Correct. It is clear from the start of the body cam footage that he is having a panic attack.
@@bonnielee7134 he wasn't having excited delirium, because he wasn't being aggressive, violent, paranoid, he wasn't yelling, he didn't have any unexpected physical amount of strength nor hypothermia. He was having an anxiety attack that's it.
Anxiety and claustrophobia
Not guilty
Guilty in several ways.
Manslaughter
I don’t know exactly what it is about this prosecutor, but he always makes me think of Kenna Thompson from SNL. Like he could be his serious older brother or something. Keep waiting for him to crack up!
Beyond a reasonable doubt.
That should be the name of the video
Ohh dear, poor Eric Nelson😁..
You’re lucky he is doing a job, because if he wasn’t then there would be no court case and no outcome. Leaving justice to you would be like asking a gossip at a bus stop what they think - that’s not the justice system.
@@uszatku9417 I say a better way to resolve this would be to hold that cop down the way he held Floyd down for as long as he did so. That’ll solve the mystery of what happened here.
@@liquidmark5081 I agree. That should happen so you all will see that his technique won't kill anybody.
@@liquidmark5081 ...in mob rule, you won’t win...minorities won’t win, cop-haters won’t win. So, don’t opt for mob justice as you won’t win.
I can't wait for the VERDICT
He talks too fast...
Look at him admiring his handiwork at 12:35...😑
Ahahaha neck work
Holy he’s nuts - sick -
Talk about going bald on top. He’s trying to cover it with his hair.
You just wait.Think your funny.
Yes, that's the pertinent takeaway from Dr. Baker's testimony. 🙄
