keith do you have any brother dream macine updates in stock and can they be ordered from us. i have ordered video from you before very thankful for you videos
Your design size will need to be within the embroidery area of the frame as with all embroideries. The frame facilitates easy re-hooping after stitching the first feather where you will then align the next feather.
My Continuous Border frame worked as described in this video, except when I attempted to assign thread marks upon the completion of the first border segment. The 9-block icon was grayed out on my machine's Edit Screen. Is it a better idea to assign thread marks in the software rather than at the machine?
Assigning the thread marks before embroidering should be no problem on the machine Jeannette. Without seeing what you are doing its difficult to know quite what you mean. I seem to think that you assign the stitch alignment marks before embroidering and then move the fabric along using the existing design again with the markings already in place?
I took a firm grip on the situation and my new Continuous Border frame, and it worked beautifully to produce a lovely quilt border design. What did not work well was my ability to assign thread marks to the pattern-----used the old chalk mark method for advancing the pattern at measured intervals. I am probably your only viewer that cannot find this function on my Dream Machine. I will review this section again in the user manual; maybe the lightbulb will turn on.
Keith, this frame looks like you can`t get the edge of the sheet or whatever past the end of the frame because of the clips. So that would mean if you wanted to do a border on a sheet and then wanted to fold over and sew to cover the back, then there wouldn´t be enough space for the extra fabric, you would be limited to a very narrow border of say 2 inches? Perhaps I am wrong and you can get the fabric through?
Elaine, this is a great frame for moving the fabric vertically when embroidering long lengths as a border along the edge of fabrics. The hinges on the right will not allow fabric to pass through so it wouldn't be possible turn so much fabric around as to cover the embroidery. This is a specialised product and you would need to use a standard frame to achieve your particular solution to covering the embroidery or choose narrow designs as you say. Keith.
Thanks for the reply Keith, that is what I thought, was just hoping you would prove me wrong! I have a large hoop, but I find it a bit loose without double stabilizer in it for cottons, I was hoping this could be the solution. Thanks again for the quick reply.
Thank you for your tutorials! I love watching anything to do with my machine. How can I get or order the 250 designs if I already own the machine & continuous frame & live in the USA?
You'll need to look out for something in your country Kay, same as anybody here in the UK because it's a collection that isn't licensed for sale. There are probably lots of similar narrow designs available from online suppliers.
Like Kay, I also would like to order your CD's for continuous frame embroidery designs. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find anyplace, including the Brother website, that compares with your product.
I have the Baby Lock Destiny 2 machine and I just purchased the continuous border frame off of ebay, however, there were no directions with it. Can you help me out with a copy of the directions on how to use it?
Hi Deb, There are no instructions as such. As you can see on the video you just place the fabric in the frame and move along by releasing and refastening the hinges. Not sure how your babylock differs from the V-series machine we used here so you'll need to consult your machine manual for that. - Keith.
i am using a border frame with my v3 machine. when we work using the border frame the material slips slightly from the frame always. is there any fix for this problem.
I haven't received any feedback regarding slippage from other users Elan. If you are using satin-type fabrics they can be difficult to grip and likely to move when stitching. Stabilising the fabric with iron-on backing may help.
Hi Jackie, I'm not sure but I can't see why not as it's listed on the Babylock USA website. I suggest you call a babylock stockist to see if it's compatible: babylock.com/accessories/hoops/unity-and-spirit-large-continuous-border-hoop-and-grid
I don't know if you purchased one yet but I think if you search for US authorized brother dealers and messaged them, one of them would be willing to sell it to you and ship it to Brazil. Good luck :D
I love watching your informative videos. Thank you for your time Keith in explaining how to get the most out of our machines and accessories.
Lovely and clear and easy to understand. I hope to get this hoop eventually and will come back to this tutorial. Thanks Keith
Thank you Keith. Your videos are so clear to understand.

good video as always
I have the continuous frame that I bought for the 4000D can it be used on the Dream2? I loved your video on the continuous hoop
Yes Carleta, the smaller frame should also be recognised by your machine and work the same way.
Hi Keith, If I purchase the BF2 border frame and want to stitch something longer than the 7”, can you use the thread marks somehow to do this ?
Hi Louise, if you have a machine with that feature on it then yes you can.
Thank you! Your videos are so helpful 😁
I want to do a single line feather quilted border does the border have to fit the frame?
