No! I was in front of a choice between Modwave, Phase Plant, Pigments, Current and Myth in December and decided on Phase Plant, keeping Myth and Modwave as planned for the future grabbing. The rest are done with INCREDIBLY stupid decisions during designing of the workflow! 🤯 No PAN control of each sound source! Can you imagine that? Panorama control occurs ONLY inside Filters 🤡 Inability to modulate all Effects' parameters. No Uni/Bipolar modulation switching without switching the modulator itself. It's the same prob of Phase Plant but there you can easily solve it by duplicating modulator as many times as it's necessary. Idiotic "send effects" invention. It's worth better to make larger amount of Effects, like 5-6 in FXA and 5-6 in FXB. No Midi Random modulation - a common modulation that randomizes a parameter with each note but without deep adjustments, really often feature but there's none of it and INSTEAD they strewed a handsome of zero-useful Combinate modulators 🤡 No Modulation Remapping!!! HUGE fail of Frenchies 🤦🏻♂ I'm not even telling of inverted Modulation Remapping which is implemented in Vital, can be made in Phase Plant and seemingly is OUT of any comprehension by such "whales" like Arturia, u-He or overhyped Minimal Audio. 😑
I bought Pigments when it was first released. When Arturia released Pigments 2, I got it as a free update. Repeat a few times and now my one-time Pigments purchase is now at version 6. It just keeps getting better and better.
@@spaceiswater6539 have to admit, it's really user-friendly strategy when devs offer lifetime updates. Of course, after stupid Waves Audio upgrade plan we cannot deny there is no such practice in the industry but... is it SO "extra feature" to provide a common upgrade of your product? 🙄 No toxicity, just real vision.
Unlike a lot of other companies I really feel like Arturia is doing its very best for its customers. I bought Pigments 4 and haven't paid for an upgrade or update since. I can't remember how much it cost but it was worth it. Big fan of the way Arturia does business and also of Pigments itself which is excellent.
I first got Pigments, then FX collection, next V collection. And not have regretted any of them. That is not always the case with some plugins. So I guess that is a statement on its own of the high quality.
I bought Pigments a few months ago. The new, free update is impressive! A Synth with a lot of depth and possibilities and at the same time very accessible.
Love Pigments and Arturia in general, I've possibly spent more with them then any other one VST company. 6 was a free upgrade for me and I really like it very much.
A user since version three, I have been thrilled to now have physical modeling added as an engine. I haven't had much time to explore it, but it seems like the vocoder may be the next thing I love about this synth..it seems able to create a fuller, or richer, timbre to anything else you're using. But may be easy to overdo it. And free upgrade..c'mon, what else do you want? BTW, i'm also pretty happy with Arturia's support over the years, including building tutorials into the package.
I've been on the fence about Pigments for a _while,_ and I could never pull the trigger...until now. Version 1.0 just sounded unpleasantly digital and sterile, and is it just me or does Pigments actually *sound* better now? Like...a LOT better. Maybe it's just the v6 patches, which are way more focused on natural, organic sounds. In any case, I am no longer a Pigments hater. I love this synth now.
At the moment I’m pretty burnt out on - and sick of - physical modelling, but since I own Pigments, I upgraded, if nothing else to check out the other stuff that’s new. Now, if you (like me) were early finding out about the upgrade, you probably experienced troubles logging in with Arturia Software Center last night, so while I waited for it to connect, I checked out Lena’s video on what’s new, and I was surprised at how fresh everything sounded! So once I had it installed I went thru all the new v6 presets, and I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it seems like there’s something here that doesn’t sound like the Osmose or Noisy, and I really really like it! Next step is experimenting with controlling Pigments with the Osmose - exciting! Anyway, interesting (but perhaps not very surprising) that you too felt that there’s really something special going on in Pigments 6! Thanks man, keep being awesome! ❤
Vocoder makes every sound better) I have polybrute and matrixbrute as well as many other analog synths, so I don’t use VSTs much for some time… but pigments is one of the best vsts on the market. Just a beast.
There was a very nice deal on Pigments if you owned some other Arturia stuff. Got it for €49 the day before yesterday. Not sure what it was I owned that triggered that price.
@@wavydaneidk. It’s actually getting a lot harder to make that decision these days. Especially with how consistent Arturia is with putting out free upgrades to Pigments.
The only thing I don't like is you can't assign a macro to the amount of envelop modulating a filter. Big big big limitation. Modulating the amount of env is classic.
Hey, my live wievers, Greedo Kenobi and all the rest: I had to leave the studio for a minute, an emergency situation, sorry not being there with you :((( I'll do better next time!
Hey, my dear public! What do you think about Pigments 6? Buying it? Already enjoying Pigments? Using sth else? Lemme know down below!
I think you should do a part 2 as you didnt cover a lot of the new features which is hard to do in a 12:34 video, good video as always.

Same feelings here!

I wish they would reply to support tickets though.
Got it for 69€, since I'm already a client... couldn't be happier!

Fantastic Review! Great Vibe Paul, enjoyed your video very much!
I love it, find it surprisingly easy to program.

Yep, Arturia policies and customer care are quite exemplary. Minifreak 3 was also insanely good and free!
I really liked how the vocoder sounds. Had Pigments for a few years, I like to tweak their presets and go from there.
Hey, Glenn, good to hear from you, man!

Actually, v6 got all the filters revamped and they seriously started kicking a**.

Whoah, this is cool!
I hope they will add a multi sampler at a point. Would be super useful.
Considering I received an introductory offer from Arturia to buy Pigments 6 for 69 Euros, I don't think I can resist!
still can’t decide if phase plant or pigments is the better choice… will need to demo it i guess. good vid as always paul!
Thx, Eren!

Already using Current otherwise yeah I would snag Pigments 6 for $100
Current! I have to review it finally!
gtreat show my friend
Hey, James, thanks a lot!
BOBER ! ....Kurwa ! Good machine
Yep!

Papichulo Folia is a happy synth campr
Yes, I am! :D
Short answer: buy it now? You shoulda bought it waaaay back in the day when it was around 49 euro at launch like I did and enjoyed the ride!
Waitung for them to patch it a few times before upgrading
It still looks and behaves very stable!
Pigments is a feature rich synth, but features are not well thought like u-he synths.
Oh, never thought of it. U-he does different machines, that's for sure, but I wouldn't call Pigments a badly designed synth...

Robi różnicę i jak zawsze Arturia dba o swoich klientów i starych rozpieszcza moim zdaniem nie jedna oficyna może się czegoś nauczyć
Tak, Arturia ma naprawdę spoko polityki cenowe :)
