      @pnwdevv I would love to see us trade Grant to the Lakers, and I would be okay just getting just Vando, a first round pick and maybe a 2nd round for him. As far as overvaluing Simon's. Maybe, I am, but I know we put a lot of time into developing him into the stud he is, and he's still young enough to run with this crew so why give up the keys to the Cadillac before we see, if those boys can drive? I really don't know if Shaedon's ceiling is as high as Simons.

    I think Ayton should stay for a while and be an offensive mentor for clingan. If he’s happy to accept that role of course. I wouldn’t be too rushed to trade DA if I was Cronin. Great video btw! ❤

      I think it's to our benefit to keep Ayton as well, in part because the rest of the league is so hostile towards him that I don't think we're likely to get fair value for him in any trade. Give him until at least the trade deadline to prove what he can do and let Clingan develop with a little less pressure on him out of the gate.

    Hot take: Blazers should be trying to trade with teams they can absolutely fleece for their players/picks, even if it means picking up bad contracts to do so.
    Example, trade Ayton & Simons to Bulls for LaVine and a mountain of picks.

    • @pnwdevv
      @pnwdevv  Месяц назад +1

      Don't hate this idea, picks will always be valuable so if these guys aren't part of the plan longterm than yeah get peak value 🤞🏽

  • @mxtthewcx8
    @mxtthewcx8 Месяц назад +1

    I wanna give my opinion on these trade ideas. Firstly, the Lakers already did agree on a trade to acquire Jerami Grant, but Rob Polinka was like "wait nvm". I'm not a lakers fan by any means, but I don't think that Grant would improve their team, however I do think that the second trade package would be a very good return(but the Lakers wouldn't make the picks unprotected and already reported they want to see how Vanderbilt and Vincent play this season). I also do believe that Simons would fit best on the Orlando Magic, but there's an 'if'. Simons is not a good playmaker, but he is much better than Suggs. The Magic need a point guard and Simons would have to move to the 1, but if he can be a better passer, then he will fit great with the team. Next, Thybulle for Kleber is such an easy trade, but the Mavs front office is for some reason holding onto Dwight Powell and Kleber for absolutely no reason. Kleber got a 3 year 33 million extension when he was already not a good 3 point shooter or defender, he's too weak to play the 5 and can't rebound. So despite it being a great swap for Dallas, this trade probably will not happen. Lastly, the raptors are NOT trading for Ayton. I'm a Raptors fan, and I know that the front office was thinking about trading/signing Ayton in the past but that was because the team didn't have a starting center at the time and Ayton was 2-3 years younger. Ayton is not a great defender, neither is Poeltl but he's a bit better anyways. Poeltl doesn't want to be on a rebuilding team again, so it wouldn't make sense for the raptors to trade him to the Blazers, and Ayton would clog up the scoring balance that the Raptors are building. They already have 3 main scorers in the starting lineup(Quickley, RJ and Scottie) so it would make no sense to add an 18ppg guy in Ayton. It would make more sense for the Bucks to trade Lopez or the Bulls to trade Vucevic to the Blazers for Ayton(either of the two would get bought out/waived) or a 3 team trade where the Pelicans get Ayton, a second team gets Ingram and the Blazers get a pick or two plus salary

      Make more opportunities for Scoot and Sharpe they are the 2 most naturally talented players on the team. Scoot has a higher ceiling as a playmaker and defender than Ant does. Sharpe's upside really as high as he wants to make it. He's got Vince Carter type athleticism and he's show on 2 shample sizes that he can score on all three levels, his passing decision making needs some further improvement but this past year he got hurt and when he was running the show the team had no shooters or even a good ballhander. Ant, Brogdon, and Scoot were out and I think even Ayton got hurt around that time. He's also just got a smoothness to his game. It really depends on how much dedication he puts into the game and not being as passive. Sometimes I notice he gets alittle too comfortable with being a role player. When he could be the best player on the team and have a prime where he could be like a Brandon Roy with Vince Carter/Zach Lavine athleticism

    Thanks for interesting video. I totally agree the mentioned players should be traded though i doubt Blazers can get all those assets.
    Ayton has a great potential but absolutely lacks a passion to play. His statistics look like a fake . He puts 0 effort in defence, he isn't willing to make screens ( and Scoot needs it). You need an idiot gm to bring this poison to the ream- sorry but i really think so. That's why Blazers MUST get rid of him. Pelltle is a solid center and Ujiri won't trade him for Ayton.So you have to find expiring heavy contract. And so we find one- Ben Simmons, a dead man walking)). 40 mln and Ayton has 35×2. That's why i would add Timelord and take some fillers. Maybe Marks will consider he can trade Rob and get something for Ben. And in a year naybe to get smth forr Ayton.
    And the Blazers will use a Clingan as a part of the 1st unit. And save a lot of money next season
    Grant: too heavy contract but a good role player. LAL wants to get rid of Russel ( 18 mln) and will give 1 pick. Looks fare. Maybe 1 or 2 2nd picks will be nice . Lal maybe will get them from a 3d team and will give it to you.
    Simons is a poor defending player but a great shooter. I'd think anout Detroit. Thay badly lack shooters, have lots of young players. So maybe 1 or two 1st picks and Ivey, or swap. Orlando just signed KCP and it's defence oriented team. So i dount they'l be interesed. Sorry for such a long comment.

      Your take on Ayton is completely false. Did you even watch any Portland games last season? The team was so much competitive when Ayton played. Scoot played better because of Ayton. Ayton was a pick and pop threat and a lob threat for Scoot. Clingan is the worst center to pair with Scoot. He can't shoot and isn't a lob threat.

Ayton's netrating was awful, almost similar to the team (- 8.7 and -9.0). And he's supposed to be a star. Gotta view these trades from a non biased standpoint, and from the other teams POV.
