It’s so fascinating to me that Michael Mckean and Bob Odenkirk both essentially began their careers as sketch comedy/improv actors in different generations.

Thank you for this revealing interview, Michael! Wow! No wonder Chuck felt so real, you believed as deeply as your character did. Vince was brilliant to bring such a performance out of you. I think your portrayal of Chuck McGill will be iconic, an enduring example of some of the best work ever done. Hah! That HAPPY! reference lol. I did not like Chuck, - to a certain point - ! But McKean's performance was truly amazing imo. I certainly back the decision of his earning an Emmy for his acting. I was so shocked people had such a hard time sympathising with Chuck, people really couldn’t see why he felt that way about Jimmy? He was a terrible brother, no matter how much he tried to appear like the good one.
McKean´s performance as Chuck might be the most overlooked performance in the whole Breaking Bad universe.
Only if Kim doesn't get one
I agree. McKean did a hell of a job
@@mattjames5007 Yep
Only Cranston is more impressive to me. Obviously Aaron Paul and giancarlo are phenomenal too
@@MyNameIsFredFuchs Well, I actually enjoy Bob's work, as Saul is richer than Walter as a character.
A phenomenal actor. Should have won an Emmy long time ago.
Michael was robbed of an emmy for the 3rd season of Better Call Saul
Absolutely. He was phenomenal on Chicanery.
The bad guy always isn't appreciated.

Gilligan and Gould interestingly love putting comedians as drama actors
Bryan Cranston too
He's a fine class man like in the show, his character makes me feel angry but same time i like Chuck McGil
everyone does.

I don’t like him but I understand him
Nice to have an interviewer who knows his subject.
the true crime is not letting chuck finish the song

What a class act. If it wasn’t for Mr. McKean’s performance, I doubt many of us would be emotionally connected past season 2

Literally a legend... I can't get over how incredible this individual is. Also that voice! I could listen to him talk and sing for hours.
Michael McKean was the best part of the show. It's greater without him but nowhere near the heights they reached with Chuck
