Hey Rob, just a tip for folk who find notifications to be an irritation. I have a link to my RUclips Subscriptions page. This shows all the latest vids from all your subscribed channels so you never miss anything from anyone, and no need for notifs. I've never missed any of your vids (or any vids from other channels I'm subscribed to) for years, and always give a thumbs-up - cheers matey, and "thanks for all the fish" :)
Rob Bob ,knowledgeable. down to earth

Thanks! For all you do, my friend!! I was able to feed my family a dinner entirely from my backyard because of your inspiration!! Keep up the good fight!
That is awesome & has made my day mate. 👍👍😁😁
Did it include fish or just veg?
Many thanks for the extra thanks as well, we really appreciate it.
@@RobsAquaponics It included both fish and vegs. Whole meal from the backyard. Its one thing to be able to provide food for your family. Its a whole different level when you grow/raised your own food for your family. The day I served my two boys food from the backyard, I had tears streaming down my face!!! I have you to thank, you provided the knowledge and path. Congrats on the new place. We are following suit will be on some land by 2025!
@@lc7946 Nice one mate. Its fantastic to here its going well for you.
Good luck on the land search & hope you find a decent block that suits your needs.

Hope you enjoyed the vid Aaron. I've had a load of subscribed folks say they no longer get notifications. Not sure wat YT's game is.
Cheers mate.
If you drink your coffee every morning, that sounds like a better and cheaper version of the dollar store timer if you were to ask me.
🤔 Hadn't thought about it that way.
Cheers mate.
Thanks Rob for showing us what’s happening in your garden. 😘
Cheers Lorraine. 😁
Winter Greens are Great.
Probably my favourite time of year to grow here.

Love your videos. Been watching for years from Fort Worth, TX. So Howdy and G'day
Thanks for watching Mate. 👍
Just stumbled upon your channel. I live in Florida and we try to learn new ways to grow our vegetables. Your system looks amazing!
Thanks Denise. 😁👍 I hope to be doing some more work on the larger one later this week.
Saying hi to you Rob and the Algorithm ;)
🤣🤣👋
Howdy.
21°C in the winter 😢
Cheers from Timmins Ontario Canada
We do get it very easy here Daniel. We looked at a place on the weekend where winter temps stay a degree or two higher than that....
That's a hell of a winter garden! Never really considered how the water heater could extend the season like that. Do you ever have problems with the wicking beds getting too cold in the winter?
We haven't here but we only ever have a few hours a year where it drops below freezing here. I know some folks that have hard freezes will empty the water from their beds before the hard freeze hits in Winter if that helps any.
another great catch up video , thanks 🫑🥬digger .
Thanks Mate. Having a few issues with the pH in the small jobbie so might post a vid on that later in the week.
Cheers mate.
Thanks for the videos
Cheers Sir Michael. 👍
your channel is awesome dude thanks for providing such a wealth of home aquaponics information and inspiration
Cheers for that Nick. I'm having a few issues with the pH in the small system so will be posting about that later this week all going well.
That's some lovely perch! Going to taste good when you harvest them.
I'm tossing up weather we give them away or harvest them all when we move Suzie. 🤔
Cheers & have a great one.
Looks great Rob
Thanks Gee.
Good day sir
& good morning to you Sir.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks John. 👍

Cheers mate.
Good luck finding your property.
Thanks Dal. Hope to have a few new videos on the farm search coming out soon.
B & I decided to start a channel just on the farm if your interested mate.

Looks awesome 👌
Thank you Michael. 👍
hi Rob, one thing i forgot to say: while gotu cola won't block pipes , it in grow beds with rocks will grow it's crowns / runners about 4 to 5 cm under the media and where the leaves shoot up they push rocks up and at the sides out of the grow bed ( so in a 40cm deep bed only have rocks to 30 cm deep. )
I've gad galangal do the same thing. Grows like the clappers in a system.
Cheers Shane & have a top one mate.
Keep it up, this is great info
Thanks, will do. 👍
Looks great!
Thanks Sally. 😁👍
Good day mate great update video
Thanks Tim. 😁👍
Hope all's well with you folks.
@@RobsAquaponics all good here Rob send blessings to you and your family
Healthy looking plants Rob. Great work.
Cheers mate. Sorry I haven't got back to you yet. Will be catching up on emails after we chat to some estate agents this morning. 😉
I'm between properties at the moment due to health issues. So this year is a bust, as I can't grow anything at the moment. But, it's great to see what you're getting up to, inspiration for next time around.
Hope you get a place sorted soon mate. 👍
Good luck with the hunt, I know how hard it can be.
Awesome content as always. Thanks for the uniseals, my Dutch bucket system should be up and ready for spring to go along with the flood and drain beds
Nice one Cath. 👍Is is an aquaponic or hydro system?
Thanks
No problem Folks.
Have a fantastic week.

Will be posting a few catchup vid's there over the next week or so.

Love your vids Rob
Thanks mate. Hope you've got a few useful ideas from them.
@RobsAquaponics I most certainly have. I've built a new system using your designs (I subscribed to your lessons), and I'm about to commission it and start the conditioning process. Quite cold here at 760m in victoria, so not sure how I'll go. Trialling trout and catfish I think.
As a child my mum's aunty lived in Apollo Bay and there was water cress growing for milstdes down the bank of the creek never found since any that tastes as good as this water cress wild is always better
I've only ever had home grown here.
Thanks
Liked & subscribed. 🤣😉
Awesome thank you WOMBAT. 🤣
Great video as always!!! Give Jack a rub for me.
No problem Tony. Next time he runs by & give him a scratch behind the ears.
Cheers & have a top one.
Looking at those ball cabbages, I expected to see them open mouths and say, "Feed me, Seymour, feed me now!"
🤣🤣 That's exactly what B said as well 🤣🤣
Cheers KD.

I won't tell you get a shave you hairy git...But I'm watching from afar giving a thumbs up..If you need commentary hubby said I endless supply🤣.
🤣 Thanks Anna. Hope to have some news about a property soon if all goes well this week. 🤞
@@RobsAquaponics I'm excited for your new adventure😁

Im not sure if your familar with PLC's (programmable logic controler) used industrial and process control systems
They are relatively simple and very robust computer systems that can do almost anything you can imagine in a process control system. I.e timers, opening valves, level sensors, temperature control ect ect. They have also come down in cost to rasberry pie level. But are much more reliable and easier to program. One obvious advantage of this system is that you can monitor and control using a low volt power i.e 12 -24 volts to do control and monitoring which you could run via solar.
Velocio plc is what i recommend to start looking at if you are interested at all.
I have seen them but am sticking with more rudimentary tech for now as it's accessible to more people.
I've bookmarked Velocio & will suss them out.
Thanks mate.
I do enjoy your videos.
I have a question about broccoli. How do you ensure that they form large heads and prevent them from flowering?
I found it normally comes down to the climate. The heads bolt to flow here faster if we have a warm snap through winter. They also tend to flower faster later in the season as well.
In the soil beds I found that they tended to not bolt so fast if the soil was well fed with compost or broken down manures & some mulch placed over the top of the compost.
Hope that helps some.
Feeding algorithm nom nom
🤣🤣 Many thanks TK.
☕️
☕☕ Cheers 👍😊
Thank you for sharing.May I ask if it is better for an AQ system to be covered? How do you get insects to stay away from your crops also pls?
I prefer to use exclusion rather than spraying in most cases. It is hard to keep the aphids & small critters out though. Controlling the ants helps as they farm apids for their "honeydew".
👍
That parsley is Hugh! Is that a plant that can be split up into smaller plants?
Store bought plants can be as they sow a load of seeds in one hole as they're so small.
I haven't tried with a single plant but I'm guessing you can't as they have a single tap root, a bit like a carrot.
Hi Rob, Have you think to produce australian bushfood with aquaponic system like fingerlime, davidson plum or others? Thanks
I dare say you can but would need to have beds that would be able to handle years worth of growth. A dual root zone may be the way to go. 👍
Hey Rob stopped getting notifications.
I've had a number of folks say that Garret. I've started to use my subscription page as my RUclips home screen so I don't miss any.
😁👍
👍😁
Do you have any sand beds? I'm a big fan of sandponics!
Not at the moment but will play with them down the track once we have a larger place.
Question, why did you no do a external pipe in pipe bell syphone on the wicking beds, when i get some thats what i will do, unless there a problem, i cant see one ??????????
The "Earthan beds" that came with the beige tanks had a flooding mechanism run by a timer in their centre & they grew some great veg Dazza. That was also a decoupled system so there was no issues if the soil affected the water chemistry at all as it didn't go back to the fish at all. I'm just happy to let the water wick up through the sand in this jobbie I think.
@RobsAquaponics humm so if I build my dream system with drz and wicking beds in the dystem.. de coupled is better or all in one system ?
How to make aquaponics filters
I have a few videos on filters in this playlist if it helps any 👍

Hi, i have about 12 notes for new videos from your channel in my list. dont know whats up with YT
I have had a fair number of folks say they're not getting notifications & my views have also tanked over the past few months Huber.
YT folks told me at a training thing I went to that people may not be interested in watching this sort of content anymore & to try & make it more exciting.....🤔
Not quite sure how I can do that.

Any advice for a renter who seems to move every once a year who wants to get into aquaponics, but feels like he can't due to the regular ish moving. Should I just bite the bullet or is there anything I should consider?
Smaller systems can be made with 50gal /200l barrels & totes that are easy to move, once the water is emptied of course. 😉
These are easily stocked with small ornamental fish & are fine for growing greens & most herbs. I've seen some fantastic systems powered buy guppies.
Hope that helps some.
How many fishes you have in new aquaponics system?? And which veriety??
I'm from India and starting new aquaponics system please suggest fish veriety and how many fish I need for system like your new system. What should be the age of fish?
This video may help some,
