My theory on the Mandela effect, and this is coming from really out of left field, is that arising from the many worlds interpretation of quantum dynamics, when you die in your current "universe", your consciousness transfers to the nearest universe in which you are still alive, and sometimes that results small differences that you "remember" from before the transfer, like Berenstein instead of Berenstain. This same line of thought also lead me to thinking this is a good interpretation of your life flashing before your eyes when you're near death; your consciousness is scanning through universes of your lives looking for the next best existence.
I've thought that as well. My dad hated the color blue with a passion and we argued many times that his favorite color was green and mine was blue and we just hated each other's favorite color. Then one day I wake up, and he likes blue, and hates green? And my mom says that it has always been that way? Wtf? There was one experience where my blood pressure dropped in public after a heart murmur, and time slowed down immensely. I checked my pulse to see if I was okay, as you do when you panic badly, and then when I picked my head up, everybody around me had their head down and raised it at the same time I did. Freaky freaky shit. What a brilliant universe we live in. I also believe there are incarnations of yourself in other physical forms that exist simultaneously and are here to guide you through life. I believe these exist in history, in the present, and are waiting to exist in the future.
