Yep you're right. Australians have loved Farnham for decades.
This cover of The Beatles song was actually listened to by John Lennon who said "now, *that's* the way this song was meant to be sung". Fact.
Other great voices in Oz are Matt Corby with his original wonderful song "Brother".That'll blow your mind! Also Tina Arena, Sia.
      Wow! & Tina Arena, Sia
Jess Mauboy, Guy Sebastion with his original (Battle Scars) was a hit around the world, Neil Finn of Crowded House ,& so many more.

I am 58 now and I remember when I was 10 years old, I went with my then-15 year old sister to Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne to see him perform in the musical play Pippin (he was in the title role). We met him afterwards in the carpark and he was as down-to-Earth as everyone knows him to be.

He sings Soul with Jimmy Barnes in "When Something is Wrong With My Baby." the best recording imo is on our "Hey, Hey, it's Saturday show" with a pink Ozzy Ostrich on the thumbnail. He sings opera on the concert called the main event with Anthony Warlow, song is called "Granada," then sings with Olivia Newton-John, "Please don't ask me," from the same concert. he sang with Ray Charles, with Tom Jones, and with Celine Dion, among others.

John is an Aussie legend, he is also loved just as much over in New Zealand. His vocal range is insane with that grit he brings in when needed. He has such a powerful voice you'll see him with the mic away from his mouth and still you will hear him clear as. The best way to listen to him is live, he loves interacting with his fans and getting the involved and he throws in a bit of comedy as well. Here are some live performances I think you'll enjoy.
You're The Voice ruclips.net/video/6m2m_9Uijso/видео.html, When The War Is Over ruclips.net/video/BekbvlLzMWc/видео.html, Thats Freedom ruclips.net/video/JWjtlMBl3Xo/видео.html, Two Strong Hearts ruclips.net/video/tqaMHMooiEU/видео.html, Angels ruclips.net/video/5_2NJRIdBO8/видео.html, Blow By Blow ruclips.net/video/Z4GipykgGI0/видео.html, Reasons ruclips.net/video/X4b5CYJz_lM/видео.html,. And you have to check this duet with another Aussie icon Jimmy Barnes Something Is Wrong With My Baby ruclips.net/video/ihsfx1LuoKc/видео.html.
Just some of his hits there is plenty more. Hope this keeps you entertained for a while. This is just my opinion but John has the best voice anyone will hear just the range, the grit, the control, simply amazing. Another thing with this legend is he can sing any genre of music from slow ballads, soul to rock.

Yes, he went overseas to the US as lead in Little River Band but he was so homesick and missing Jilly, as he calls his wife of more than 48years now, and their two young sons, he said "stuff it, I'm going home!" and he's not been overseas since, however after that he hit rock bottom and literally lost everything, his Manager and best mate Glen Westley and wife Gaynor mortgaged their family home to fund the Whispering Jack tour which was a huge success for the four of them. Farnsey has just had a cancerous tumour and half his jaw removed and most likely won't sing again, and Glen died around the same time as Olivia Newton John, another lifelong and best friend of Farnsey's, in fact they both appeared on TV in their first public appearances on Brian Henderson's show as did the The Brothers Gibb.
For all his talent, it's the man we love and will always back him, he's a part of all our lives and early memories, he's in our DNA, he's a mate in every sense of the word, in Australia, he is The Voice! 💞🇦🇺
