Salah is an elite forward. But hazard single handedly provided 50% of Chelsea’s ball progression and creation while also being Europe’s best dribbler statistically and still had 25-35 goal contributions a year in his prime.

The only reason for comparison is that they are both elite footballers that played on the touch line.

When Chelsea won the league in 16-17, they scored 85 goals but hazard didn’t get anywhere near Salah’s numbers.

You understand the game man👍 most people don’t have the football iq to understand the different roles they played and how they effect your opportunities to get stats. They also don’t understand that where players appear on a team sheet doesn’t necessarily mean that’s where they play in a game. Salah is a right sided striker whereas hazard was a left sided CAM. So saying salah is better because he gets more stats is the equivalent of saying a striker is better then a CAM because he gets more stats.
Hazard dictates a game. He plays by his own rules. Not many player in the world does that, not even Mbappe, Haaland, KDB or Salah. This is not about stats, it's how much talent a player has and how he easily destroys everyone consistently regardless of the tactics and opposition.

It’s a total footballer v hazard who was fun to watch, won you some games. Salah wins you seasons, literally carries your attack. He draws players, creates and scores from anywhere on the pitch.
In terms of pure dribbling hazard‘a highlight reel is probably better but that’s literally it he’s a great one dimensional player.
@@youngmetrojokeman6172 you're the one who has it backwards. People try to reduce Hazard to just dribbling to put him down. He would pick the ball up from much much deeper areas than Salah, literally like the halfway line or his own half. He'd drive forward with it, play 1-2s or a through ball or take it out wide and put a cross in. Or if there were no teammates around he'd sometimes just take it all the way to the goal and score himself. Salah's a brilliant player and I'm not even trying to deny that but he's the outlet of his team. Unless you're Messi you can't pick the ball up in the areas that Hazard does and also be scoring every game. Because one player is creating most of the chances for the team and the other is finishing them.
People act like Hazard wasn't prolific because he wasn't clinical or missed lots of chances but he just didn't get in goalscoring positions as often as Salah. And he wasn't a goal orientated person so his instinct was often to set up a teammate rather than shoot. Just like how Salah has been criticised in the past for not passing to his teammates in good positions, it works both ways. Neither is better because both were effective for their team's. Hazard created and Salah finished. Generally. Salah can also create lots and Hazard could also finish lots but generally it's more the other way round.
But because all fans care about these days are numbers the Salah-type player gets a lot more credit. Truth is Hazard had just as much if not more of an impact on games. He wasn't surrounded by worldclass players under one world class manager like Salah was at Liverpool. We've actually seen how Salah's output has gone down slightly when Liverpool as a team is weaker. Just last season there's a very strong argument that Saka was thr best RW in the league not Salah, eventhough Salah scored a few goals. And that's because when Salah isn't scoring he isn't as effective.
I'm not saying he isn't effective so don't misconstrue my words. He was still top 2 RW in the league last season but we've seen how he becomes less effective when Liverpool as a team got weaker and when he isn't scoring he isn't seen as world class. Now imagine him and Hazard reversed positions where he didn't get to play under Klopp, attacking football, surrounded by a world class squad. The team would create enough chances for him so he wouldn't score quite as many goals. He relies on his teammates whereas Hazard created for his teammates.
That's not a bad thing but it benefits him because nobody ever takes that into account when comparing them. They go straight to G+A and us that to judge. And one thing's for certain - you're definitely exaggerating massively when you say Salah is the complete player. Hazard would regularly drop 10/10 performances without scoring or assisting. That's really not something Salah does very often. More often than not his best performances are when he scores a bunch of goals. Which is fine. But don't try to depict him as someone he's not.
At their peaks, Hazard.
But Hazard was never consistent with his peak for even an entire season.
Salah is consistent, so Salah for me.
This is the narrative that's been spun but 10/11, 11/12, 12/13, 13/14, 14/15, 16/17, 17/18 and 18/19 Hazard was consistent throughout all those seasons. He's a completely different player to Salah. He could easily drop a 10/10 performance whilst getting no goals and no assists. And he did on a regular basis. The problem is when people look back on his career all they look at are the goals and assists. Especially when his career directly preceded the best goalscoring winger we've seen in the Prem so their stats get directly contrasted. They were both world class for years - obviously Salah's still going but he was a later bloomer so their peaks have actually been a similar length - but they're completely different types of players and Salah gets more respect these days because he looks better on paper. But the game isn't played on paper. If Messi didn't score or assist as much I'd like to think he'd still be seen as the best player in the world because of his dribbling, vision, passing, footballing intelligence, speed of thought etc. The attack flows through him every game where he picks the ball up on deep like the halfway line and drives the team forward. Hazard was exactly the same. Go look back at not just his highlights of seasons but of specific games. There'll be highlights of every touch he had in a game like at the 2018 World Cup. Its pretty obvious he plays nothing like Salah from just a quick video. But people try and shoehorn him into the goalscoring winger conversation just because Salah cane after him. Not every winger is the outlet of their team.
And that's not even getting into the fact that Salah's been surrounded by much better players at Liverpool under one world class manager his entire time there.
