Thanks. I’m 12y and I’m trying to eat healthy and trying to make the high school tennis team. And then I’m trying to make college team, and then ATP👍❤️🥇🎾🎾🎾🎾
Thank you for this I’m 16 and have played since I was 7 but never imagined playing pro till I was 15 so I’m gonna try knuckle down and possibly play tennis for college and maybe pro given I do well which I believe I can.
Thank you so much this will definitely help!! I just started Tennis and I love it, I'm trying to set up some ground now, if you have any tips that can help me please tell me! I'm fifteen and I have never played Tennis before so tips are much appreciated!!
I always try to focus on my next tornament and winning or going far in that rather than a longer term goal, this really helps as I only have a few weeks to fix the issues in my game rather than 5+ years before I start playing senior tennis. At the moment, im working towards a county final I have in 3 weeks
Hey Bogdan! Great tips man! A question! My daughter started training tennis at 10 last april! now one year later, she beats all the guys and girls in our club and she is number one in her age group in the club, so today was her first tournament and she played against a girl which is from another club and lost 6:0, 6:0, because she played logically against the number one from tgat club . I asked the girl how long have you been playing: she said 7 years. And actually my daughter has better technique and better strokes but for an year training not the experience at all at tournaments and does not have a lot of knowledge about tactics. Plus her Serve is not at a level that she can count on! My question to you is, is there a certain set of exercises which have proven to be great in order to improve one's serve a lot for a short time, let us say for a month? She needs desperately a much better serve! We spend 2-3 hours on the court every day, but we need a clear strategy of how to really improve her serve, so that she can rely on it in tournaments! Tactics is also a thing that we will start to deeply explore! Thank you for your answer in advance!
Thanks for your comment and question. It’s impossible and unprofessional I’d say to recommend anything without seeing your daughters serve. If you have somewhere online drop a link and I’ll take a look.
@@BogdanGrygorenko Thanks for replying Bogdan! Here is a link, where you can watch how she serves! Just be aware that my daughter was tired from a training and did not have a great desire to serve, so at the beginning of the video she is not doing it how she normally does serve. I recorded it in a slow motion, but please watch the whole video, because the best serves that you will see are not at the beginning of the video! The Slow Motion begins after the first 50 seconds, so please feel free to rewind directly to the second 50 and watch from there! Thank you for you time and tips! All you said is absolutely true. I would like just to add that junior tennis player should understand that nutrition is as much important as training. Most of them have the habbit to eat a lot or nothing. Just inform your self and it'll helps your performance on tournaments and practice. Take care guys
Hey Bogdan, do u take online classes? I need to work on few things in my game. Need to take your inputs. Please let me know how to reach out to you. Each video of urs is worth diamond and I mean it💪👏👍
Hey Nina, great question. Overthinking typically happens when player has: too much time to think too many options to choose from Tennis is a game where you have a lot of time between points, games, and sets. In fact, this time takes up 75-85% of the match depending on the surface you play on. So it's very important to know how to spend this time productively. The best way to work on it is having strong routines. They help you plan your time between points/games/sets so that every time you know exactly what to do. So no matter what you have something safe to come back to. This reduces stress. I usually break down the time between points like this: reaction - you express emotions after the point managing emotions - reduce anxiety or pump yourself up analysis - you think what happened during the point planning - plan next point activation - physical activation like jumping or bouncing before you start the next point time between games and sets: Ask yourself questions like how am I losing points? How am I winning points? Should I change something? What is my plan for the upcoming changeover? When your free time is occupied like this there is no room for overthinking. When it comes to overthinking in the point you have to always have one certain plan. You have to make up your mind about the shot you are about to take as early as possible and stick to it. If this is difficult for you, then you need to work on your decision making (what to do when you receive a certain ball) with your coach. I hope this helps :)
My best advice is to have a plan in advance for what to do in situations where you have a decent amount of time. Then, just practice those with a friend or in a match.
Depending on the players, like my kid is 12 and play pro. He usually gets impatient and try to hit winners during which he loses points. Is it ok to tell him to do rallies on medium pace with our getting impatient and he Jen he finds he can hit winner
That’s a really good questions Aamir. It really depends what situations he wants to go for a winner. If it makes to attack there and he just misses. Well that’s fine. Praise his good intention and work on his targets, accuracy to make it better. If he goes for it from where he shouldn’t then you have to give him an alternative. Train the right shots. Sometimes kids can be impatient because they don’t know other options. Also it can be the case because they’re getting tired. So improving their fitness can help as well. I hope it helps
can be anything you think you can achieve in a month or two let's say. goals can be broken down into tactical, technical, physical, and mental. Examples: Technical: use your legs more when vollying Tactical: use forehand in the middle when you have a chance Physical: Improve flexibility or improve cardio Psychological: manage your emotions on court better (not throwing your racquet) or have better focus on the task that coach gives you Attitude: give 100% effort, respect people around you etc. I hope it helps Sergej!
Performance and Process Goals- Ex. Short term- jr Performance goal is to improve ranking to qualify for nationals. Process goal is to improve second serve placement and pace. How? Extra serving practice every day, working on situational pressure and always accelerating on serve.
Im plaing my first game in 4 days i have lots of time to practice and tommorow im seeing my coach im not the best or very good but what im thinking is to just practice as hard as posible and try to just do well i already know im not gonna win with my skills so im just trying to put up a good fight i know im gonna lose but i can atleast try to get a set in Also what exercises are good to improve my skills with the ball on court like backspin etc.
You need to find either a local low rated itf or somewhere abroad, typically Latin America, Africa, or India, depending on your location. He doesn’t have points so he needs to get at least one point so it’s easier for him to get into tournaments. Until then go to those tournaments I mentioned and try to get in. You can be at sign up on Friday (qualies sign up) and get a spot because some people don’t show up. I hope this helps. If you’re Interested in more information we can schedule a consultation :)
whole system tunes kids to leave their parents. Why? It is parents who can selfishly help their own kids. Even one have their own business agenda....always. Kids listen to your parents. Period.
Sorry it took me longer to respond. No one will care for a person more than loving parents. I 100% agree with you. However, it is that same love that will do more harm from a developmental stand point. Because in most cases parents can do things that protect player from becoming tougher, or vice versa. Plus there are many subtle things that parent might not know (and shouldn’t) when it come to long term development and how actions today will impact a player in few years, on personal level and as a tennis player. That’s why a coach acts as a liaison and a guide for both. Experienced coach have been through hundreds and thousands of kids in various stages of development and have more experience in dealing with kids from developmental stand point. To me it’s about understanding everyone’s roles and making sure that all are moving in one direction. Because the ultimate goal is success of the player.
