@user-eb2bt1sm3p Alabama allowed 300 rush yards to Georgia Southern in 2011. They were an FCS team at the time. They won the game 45-21. Sounds pretty freaking familiar doesn't it? Trent Richardson had to run the ball 32 times. It was 24-14 at halftime.
Lost a DT and JE already…we don’t have that much depth. You need luck and staying free of injury. Bear that in mind if they don’t do that well this year.
I like the breakdown! Seems like this LSU team just lacks the "dogs". Outside of Kyren, theres not really another down the field threat on offense. There really hasn't been any explosive plays in two full games, except maybe one or two. Not having explosive plays, in combination with a sub par run game, will lead to big time issues when LSU gets into SEC play against better athletes. On defense, same issue with not having any "dogs". The defense is better under Baker, but Perk just seems kind of lost at times and our DB's (especially our safties) just aren't elite. Average at best. Just aren't good enough to accomplish the goals and standard that LSU teams have. Really the whole defense is full of average to "good" players. Perk is an elite player and athlete, but not an elite "in the box" linebacker. Weeks is a good football player, but doesnt comapre to the linebackers Bama or UGA have. Losing Guillory will be a huge hit to the Dline and cause LSU to get pushed around even more in SEC play. Hopefuly LSU can keep some of these good recruiting classes together and some of these young talented freshman stick around and develop. If so, LSU will be much better in 2-3 years. I predict the SC game is very close. And big picture, LSU finsihes the year around 8-4. lose 3 of the 4 against Ole Miss, Bama, A&M, and OU. Arkansas isn't a given win either.
