I'm a retired commercial painter of 37 years. I started out before HVLP was a thing and was a Pioneer user of the Binke HVLP MACH II. Lots of hobby stuff including airplanes, race boats and a few Classic car restorations. The jump from conventional to HVLP was monumental but today's HVLP is just a whole different level. You do an excellent job on your presentation as well as the craftmanship you display. You are an excellent instructor. Great job, I'm in.
I appreciate it man! I really try to explain everything as good as I can and as understandable as possible for diy guys. I know that’s a majority of my audience so I try to help as much as I can!
I've used this gun on a total of about 30 cars full paint jobs nd a bunch of repaired parts fenders, hoods etc...and I haven't had a problem yet. You do definitely need a compressor that will give this continuous air. And it definitely helps to have a good spray shop. The only thing I would say is that I can spray faster with my other guns (complete jobs faster) but this thing definitely does a great job. If an apprentice it's great just practice with it nd get it dialed in nd your good. Not sure how long it will last but so far so good especially if you clean it like you would your more expensive guns nd not throw It around..
You just took me to school. I learned more in this one video with more information than 4 years of all the videos I have watched. Thanks for this. You should teach class'.
Not really hard in general. It ain't rocket science with the correct tools. But I'm not really disagreeing. It take lots of skill to get that low orange peel finish consistently

Hi Joel, this is the third review of this gun I've seen today (Trigger man and Garage Noise) and they both say the same as you that it's a great gun for the price, I can see from your video that it lays the base and clear really nice with a good OEM finish on the clearcoat, I'm not sure if they will be available here in the UK but I have bought spray guns from the USA before so that is an option👌 Thanks for the detailed review Joel🙏👍John UK
Hell yeah bro I have never completely seen full video on RUclips and I enjoy this video from , start to finish awesome job brotha💪 definitely subscribing and showing my friends about your work🤙 stay blessed and keep up the awesome videos💯
Did you ever make the video as mentioned for the best diy garage set up? I was researching this gun how i came across your channel. I have a 30 gallon dewalt advertised 7.7 @ 40 compressor. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Ive been thinking about purchasing the lph 400, but that still use around 10 cfm @
Like you said, the gun is definitely nice and lays down a smooth coat, but for the guys at home in not so good of a booth (exhaust mainly) and mediocre CFM, you might want to spring for something a little milder. The overspray from it seems a bit much, which is no problem for a pro booth. That's a major problem at home, though. The LPH, a LVLP, or some similarly priced lower overspray gun might be better. No knocks on the BW, it's a helluva gun, just thought it would be a little more home user-friendly considering their marketing.
I have the first black widow it works pretty good. Now I’m gonna go buy one of these new ones. The job came out beautiful keep up the great work. RESPECT!!!
Is the other Black Widow gun good for solid paintcause? I know you talked about the 1 that's 1.3. What's the other one called and is it? Good for solid paint like Enamels
Amazing how much work goes into to the prep work to turn around to take a 1 min or two to lay out paint maybe longer it’s like cooking turkey dinner takes so long for the prep and the foods gone in 15 mins .
Can you take apart the black widow and buy upgraded parts for it like a better nozzle a better tip better rings and would the gun perform better if you had those better parts inside it
I been using this BW for a few weeks. For the money its really good. Has a decent fan. Not the fastest gun but fast enough. It doesnt compare to top tier guns. It is comparable to guns like the LPH/W400 and Tekna. The built quality is good. I dont see much going wrong with it if you take care of it
Enjoyed your video. I was curious which paint cup system you’ve used in this video. I’m trying to find an economic paint cup system for the PPS 2.0. Any recommendation would be appreciated
Looks good. Is there anything in that top candy to control though? Jw. Alot of reds in Envirobase I spray don't have any sparkle lol. Alot of reds have candy in the clear now
hey olie! im wondering if you could give me some information and knowledge around 4:14. i see you are using a tac rag and this lazer thing before you spray. im wondering what that is and what brand tac rags those are? my body guy does not like to use tac rags because he said some brands leave a coating and mess with the future layers.
I use waffle weave crystal tack and the sikkens brand tac rags. Biggest thing is do not pretty down on the panels with them. And the lazer is just the light from my anti static gun. Basically removes static charge from panels to help keep dust that’s floating around being attracted to the parts. 🍻
I’m not a painter but I want to paint my motorcycle that I built so I’m not going to buy a $600 dollar but I think I will pick on of those black harbor freight guns up , thanks for the video
It’s not really suited for that. The black widow 1.7 is going to be the best for primer and I’ve used that setup and do use it every single day. Works fantastic!
hello and thank you for the videos I watch you all the time could you help me out with that adapter number sata RPS cup I just bought that gun I seen the results you have got on it
A control coat or a drop coat is sprayed further away. Use it when shooting metallics to even out the appearance across the entire panel. It comes in a little drier, and gives the Metallics less time to flow out. The result is the Metallics look consistent.
Is your control coat sprayed with a half trigger pull? I’m spraying debeer 900 which is the same as the 9k and learning the process. I’ve been having better luck spraying at a lower psi for coverage/control

Spraying sealer isnt hard ? Dont know sometimes you can soray it rough and thats pretty much screws yo entire paintjob. Bit then again i use cheap uk brands. But still and sealer is hard to sand if you do screw it up

What is the paint code and color name of the paint what Chrysler was it used on ?

Very well done my friend
Did you use the same tip size for all materials?
Great video!!
Got here from the Harbor freight website. What is the price range that you charge for a paint job like this?
Please do an vid on the Sagola 4600 1.2 spray gun, spraying clearcoat.
Where did you get this static free spray gun cuz it sounds like it's brand air at the same time
How does it compare to the old hte black widow ?
Is it a waterborne trait for the pearl coat to look blue when wet? I've never sprayed water. But never noticed it in solvent
Yes it is. Also when you spray straight back colors it lays down greenish....water paint is WAY different
What size is the silver cup adapter?
So both guns are the same just with two different needles?
Amazing review and as others have stated it is a great beginner gun. I just wish I knew your secret to the HF coupons =)
