I actually did the lava lamp experiment as a kid, but put it in a bottle and didn't do alka-seltzer and I still have it, I just turn the bottle upside down to get my bubbles going.
I think for the lava lamp thing the denser water goes to the bottom and sinks the alka scheltzer makes those bubbles and tornados in the water with the food coloring droplets in them
I was CRACKING up with Terry and Gloom were just watching the Roomba suffer to pick up all of the paper shreds all while saying how they feel bad for it.
