Very clear and concise explanation. However, stitch number 3 is not the standard sewing stitch for this machine. When you turn it on, it defaults to number 1, which places the needle in the left position. This is the standard sewing stitch for this machine. The markings on the bed of the machine will only be accurate if you are sewing with the needle in the left, or number 1 position. If you try to sew a 5/8 inch (1.5cm) seam using the markings to the right, you will only get the proper seam allowance by using number 1.
I just bought mine today, and it defaulted to #3. I watched another video that mentioned something about being able to change it. They had it defaulting to #1 and somehow changed the default to #3.
@@xxpowwowbluexx Interesting! I guess they could give the choice; if you are used to sewing with a centred needle it will feel strange to sew with the needle in the left position. However if you use the guides at the right for your 1.5 cm (5/8 inch) seam allowance then the needle needs to be in the left position for that guide to be accurate. Haha! I just realized my original comment was from 3 years ago! Congratulations on your new machine! Exciting!
My jubilant is making a big knot mess when I start stitching. It eventually gets going, but there is puckering and knots of threat at the beginning. Any wisdom on why this is happening?
Hi Beth, for the Jubilant, you can update the needle position setting on the LCD screen, and depending on the stitch you selected, you may have to alter the settings. We recommend reviewing your machine manual to find more information on how to adjust the settings.
Does the Jubilant have the automatic threading feature like the Lyric? I've been thinking about getting one or the other but not sure what the differences are.
Hi! Thank you for asking! The threader on both machines are very similar to each other! We do have a free full-length video on the lyric if you'd like to see it in action sewathomeclasses.com/getting-to-know-lyric We are currently working on more content on the Jubilant, but glad you've found some already! Let us know if you have any more questions!
GOD I HATE BABYLOCK. Bought it cuz was on sale and everyone swears by this brand. Have NEVER HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS with any other machine. Can't wait for it to break so I can justify getting another machine.
Did you try to resolve the issue with your dealer? If your dealer is unable or unwilling to sit down with you and get you sewing, contact Baby Lock customer service. Contact info is in the operating manual. They are fantastic !
I got this for Mother’s Day and I love it.
Thank you for this informative video. This is very helpful for helping me decide what sewing machine to buy, & how to use them.

The needle on my machine is ending in the up position instead of down like it used to. What is going on?
Does it work with 220 voltage?
How does the thread cutter work on the Jubilant?
IT is a manual cutter
