  • This is the first interstate commerce trip (outside CA) in the mooney. I went to Portland to shoot some video and may be flying to your state next!

    Subbed. Moved to TN from CA 6 months ago and been eyeing up Mooney's to do exactly what you're doing - long distance flights with the wife and the pup.

    Nice rig you have. I’m restoring a 1971 M20E. Won’t have turbocharging, but will have SIMs to replace both mags and power flow exhaust. Hoping to crowd 175 knots at 12,500.

      Enjoy! I have one surefly on mine and it makes hot starting the io-360 a breeze

    Looked like your flaps were still down. I use UPFS as a takeoff version of Gumps in mine - undercarriage, prop, flaps, switches.

      I think about 10 hours into training it clicks but I felt the same way when I started 😂.

    Great video! Just curious, does your dog not need O2?

    • @ZentRose
      @ZentRose  4 месяца назад +3

      He does. The oxygen muzzle in this video didn’t work well and now he has an oxygen hood from the vet for when I go into the flight levels

    How much faster was it overall than driving the same distance? Pretty interesting video overall

    • @ZentRose
      @ZentRose  Год назад +2

      This leg saved about 6 hours over driving. We had a headwind, the plane should go a bit faster in ideal conditions.

      These are from Rex Specs but I had to take them to my tailor with the dog because my dog has a weird shaped head

    How were the speeds/fuel economy at 15.5?

    • @ZentRose
      @ZentRose  5 месяцев назад +1

      I believe it was 9 gph around 175 mph true airspeed. You can go faster and burn more fuel. When I bought the plane they said 10gph at 185 kt which is only true if you catch a nice tail wind.
