Had one of these when I was in Memphis, wanted to buy in the UK but unfortunately only diesal I could find. So I went for auto Puma and I love it. Its good to see that cars like the new CRV and Volvo are getting closer to american spec..
Hi Barrie, I know I'm two years late on this but I've considered a Ford Edge and an X5 - would you seriously recommend the Ford? To be honest I don't particularly like bmw but I need an suv for everyday use as well as it being able to tow a twin axle caravan of 1600kg. Your advice would be welcome! Andy.
I dont really like the way the X5 drive, they go through tyres like theres no tomorrow and the stupid tread pattern on the (Pirellis i think) only have 3 mm on the outer edge so they look bald before you put them on, the Ford Edge is ok, drives nice etc, but these days i prefer Land Rover/Range Rover product, i would drive them see for yourself, and check what you can get for your budget
@@BarrieCrampton Thanks Barrie, yes I do love the Range Rover I watched your review of the 4.4 diesel, my budget is only 20-22k. I've been used to japanese reliability over many years and I have to admit, range rover worries me on that front as I'm not wealthy and yes I could put a couple of grand aside for maintenance, but reliability over a five year ownership of a 20 grand range rover, is that a bad idea do you think?
@@andyburnett8012 Range Rovers seem to get a lot of bad press but we have just as many problems if not more with BMWs, the Jag F Pace may be a good option too
Good review, we currently have a 2017 Ford Kuga St-Line. We are thinking of either a Land Rover Discovery HSE Sport Black or one of these (privilege customers)..
thanks i am glad you liked my review, i think the discovery is a "proper" 4 wheel drive, whilst the Edge is a combi, drives great, more economical, great spec and i am guessing you get a good deal on Fords, so unless you need the extra space that Edge will be calling your name :-)
Barrie Crampton we have decided it won’t be a Ford Edge. Even at £36,100 the Edge sport is way over the discovery sport black. Lower specs are even less. We just cancelled the test on the Edge..
Had a look at the F Pace over the weekend. Very nice. Maybe a tad too much at the moment as only 10% off. will See what happens with prices in second quarter 2018. Jaguar told us to go back when we were thinking of changing. Possibly March or Sept 2018.

Barrie, how did you find the Powershift automatic? I know Ford usedd to have major issues with these, how have they progressed?
i found it to be great, a lot better than having to do it myself :-)
