- Population of European Kingdoms, Empires, States and Countries throughout history, in middle ages and modern times, 1000 - 2021.
A wide variety of sources were employed in order to project the data. Tacitus.nu, Penguin Atlas of Recent History, various academic studies, and Eurostat provided most of the information. The population of colonies and holdings outside of Europe are excluded with the exception of the Russian and Ottoman Empires. Given the numerous changes in borders, the continental total can sometimes be erratic, shifting downwards or upwards for seemingly no reason. Generally, this is because various other nations are either no longer being recorded or diverging sources, not necessarily due to massive casualties. Examples include after the fall of the Soviet Union, where many former Soviet Republics are no longer included in the total, and the decline of the Ottoman Empire, with the loss of Egypt and North Africa. I've attempted to include as many states as possible, though there are a few excluded during portions of the presentation due to logistical difficulties. Obviously no data set is perfect, especially on matters so speculative such as population growth in the 1600s and 1700s, but I have put in my best effort. Please comment if you notice any serious errors so they can be rectified.

Kingdom of Great Britain was founded in 1707 and the United Kingdom - in 1801

And the word "Russia" is the Greek (Byzantine) name of Rus and it came into use in Russia itself in 1654.

So this change is the theft of the millennium for Ukrainians. In fact, the Muscovite Empire (heir to the Golden Horde) and Rus' had nothing in common, except that Moscow occupied the lands of Belarus and Ukraine (the true heirs of Rus').

This list is wrong, Germany had a population of 70 mio in 1941 never reached 71 mio until 1957.
The Mongols rushed trough Europe like demons, then they got literally yeeted out.
Not that fast, the northwestern sector of mongol empire called Golden Horde(originally mongol later turkicized) led by Batu Khan settled for a very long period of time.

The population of Germany + Bavaria was NOT 32 million in 1871 but 40 million!! Left out the East and West Prussia and Posen with 4 million? Even so!!
2017: France = 65802K, UK = 64941K - 2021: France = 65200K, UK = 67800K
Thereby from 2017 to 2021, France lost more than 600K people and the UK gained 2859K people.
I think you should double check your numbers.
Your facts are kinda wrong, they U.K. surpassed France in 2018 in population due to external migration and Britain has higher birth rate then France
You realize the bars only slowly trend downward right? They don't jump from the exact statistic of 2015 to the exact statistic of 2016 to the exact statistic of 2017. There's some lag to it.

Not for the countless nations the German-speaking Habsburgs oppressed and whose languages they tried to annihilate. Or all those serfs toiling like slaves. No empire was really nice to its people.
