I hate to say it but without Verstappen, Red Bull is not much better than the rest. Now, i really admire Verstappen and the way he drives is like magic, don't get me wrong, but they painted themselves as a top-team, and with Max being so good, of course any other driver seems bad (Albon, Gasly, Ricciardo, Sainz, now Pérez), eventho they are all very talented drivers. I just say: let Pérez do, let Max do, we see the field catching up to Red Bull, so then they'll all be fighting.
Really puts it to perspective with Hamilton's championships. Even without Hamilton, they could have still won the trophies with Bottas. Max really is insane.
One might say, without Red Bull Max is not much better than the rest.
Red Bull is Red Bull not because of Max. Where Adrian Newey goes, championships go. If Max drives the current Newey design to the 2024 championship, that’ll be 14 WDC thanks to his cars. And Max better get it done this year cuz Newey is leaving Red Bull…for Ferrari. Let’s see how Max does up against a Newey designed Ferrari driven by Hamilton. Why does “Drive to Survive” churn out new experts who think Max is the second coming of Senna? Newey nailed the tunnel car design and the car suited Max. That’s ‘22 & ‘23. ‘21 is a big ol’ asterix. *WDC secured by last lap of last race of season, Catch-22 shenanigans that got the race director fired by the FIA president himself.

He is no where near P2 in the championship. And last year the points-gap between Verstappen and Perez was greater than the amount of points Checo himself had. The man's job security is still very much at risk.

Either you just watch the races on TV or too lazy to put in the time to do research on Checo's struggles midway through the last couple seasons. Maybe watch some of his driver POV during race weekends to understand the lack of support from his engineers to take the feedback he gives them.

I don’t know about all off them but we definitely know that Hugh bird is trying his best along with Sergio to help get the best possible. I think it come down more to how exactly the stratergist are thinking and if he really does have the same car upgrades and development Max has. Food for thought

Keep Perez for 2025 as even his bad 2023 season was enough for 2nd place and see what Lawson can do in a TR/AT/VCARB (?!) before promoting him to RBR.
He is exactly what redbull wants, capable, a team player and good at defending and not wanting to have a go at Max via causing issues in the paddock.
Unlike other drivers. Checo is an amazing number 2. He isn't wanting to fight Max like Daniel, Alex and Pierre.
Checo's problem is he doesn't even want to race against OTHER teams' drivers. Sergio Perez will have a handful of points finishes in his remaining 10 races, zero podiums.
Well... Perez is currently #2 in the driver standings so let's see how he finishes the season before we put a target on his back.

Not true. Alonso was an option, they seem to have rejected. Now Sainz is too. And frankly Tsunoda. Though that last one is risky as long as Perez is performing. Tsunoda is only worth trying if Perez has an abysmal time like last season, but as long as he keeps finishing #2, there's no point promoting Tsunoda.
As of the summer break, he has 10 more races. That's the remainder of Checo's career at Red Bull.

I have f ing enough of Perez haters. How many of Max teammates could win next to him? 1 Daniel, but look at him now. Perez doing terrific despite being one of the oldest. Also he has different preferences than Max so the car would always evolve away from him towards Max 's needs.
He preffer understeer for his style of driving, Max oversteer. Checko is great at tire management but the team never allowes him the one stop strategy. Also he had a lot of podiums with shitbox cars until he landed Redbull.
yes he does, You can't expect every driver to be like Verstappen when in a redbull.
There are options but Tsunoda is risky. Riccardo isnt too much better. Alonso isnt an option anymore and Sainz looks more poised to go to Sauber/Audi then Red Bull.
While Pérez was not very strong last year, he has come back since then to produce strong results.
When he was at risk of not getting a seat with racing point, it was the best decision, as the years went by he needed to keep up with Verstappen, a tough feat for anyone racing with Verstappen, I think his time has passed and needs to let the next driver get behind the wheel

And then he binned it today in Hungary during Q3- Checo is probably screwed if we are saying Logan Seargant has qualified Checo 6x this season. That is arguably the worst driver on the grid.

I have been a Sergio fan since his GP2 days. He is still my #1 driver. I know though, he is not a WC caliber driver, he just isnt for several reasons to be honest. His wins though are all the more emotional when they do happen. Gotta say i like your videos but the thumbnail for this one kinda irked me. i unsubbed because of it.

The only other real option is Tsunoda and that is still a gamble, Red bull is to quick to pull the plug on any driver that slightly underperforms or overprrforms (if you know you know) in summary is either him or Tsunoda.

To be honest, f1 is a team race the key word is team. A team cannot win as a whole if their drivers cannot work together. In fairness to Checo he's not bothered being second or third. He's a team player that's just it. If he wins p1 it's not at the cost of his teammate. F1 regulations needs two driver's not two winners just saying

All the Verstappen fans want to keep him because he is no threat to Max whatsoever. There are MANY better options than Perez. Red Bull are the top team. I think they should replace him with someone more consistent (especially on Saturday).

There's no debate on the comments. The answer is YES; Checo is perfect for the job.

This video is already outdated on publication with Alonso not a candidate anymore. If the goal is to bring the fight to Max within the team then sure, Lewis or Alonso could probably pull it off somewhat. But if the goal is to operate the team at a relatively harmoniously P1 and P2 level, then Checo should be considered as a candidate for that seat.
He might not 100% deserve it but he is perfect in that seat. Red Bull can win on the strength of Max and the car. They don't much need an extraordinary wheelman in the 2nd seat, they just need that driver to stay out of the way.

I don’t think any of the other drivers they had paired with max would fair any better or get the results Checo hasn’t. He’s proved to be a good #2 driver. Unless they get Hamilton, Leclerc, Alonso, Sainz maybe but then that would create in team driver Drama.
I agree Checo is way better than Albon & Riccardo, they all had there chance and didn’t produce especially Tsunoda no matter how long he’s with Visachasapp he won’t be able to ever show his “Potential” he’s just a Honda mascot. Plainly no of those guys will take his seat
