- In 1191, Robert and a group of his men entered Solomon's Temple beneath the Temple Mount within Jerusalem. Robert and his men were attempting to retrieve the Piece of Eden that was hidden there; however, just as Robert sent his men to climb up to the artifact, a group of Assassins consisting of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Malik Al-Sayf, and Kadar Al-Sayf ambushed them. Altair approached Robert head-on and attempted to assassinate him, but Robert was able to thwart the Assassin's attack. Robert then threw Altair out of the room, causing a minor rockslide that blocked the entrance with rubble. Following this, Robert and his guards engaged the remaining Assassins, killing Kadar, and severely wounding Malik's left arm. However, Malik was able to steal the artifact from the Templars, flee from the city, and return to his Mentor, Rashid ad-Din Sinan. Robert, however, determined to regain the artifact, pursued the Assassin out of Jerusalem, and towards the Assassin fortress of Masyaf. Upon the arrival of the Templars, two of the Assassins defected, opening the gates of the town for Robert and his Templar infantry, and allowing them to storm the village. As a result of this, many of Masyaf's civilians and numerous Assassins were killed as a result.
Though the Assassins battled the invading Templars, they were eventually driven back into the safety of their fortress. Arriving at the fortress gates, Robert demanded that they return the artifact to him, saying that it was his property. However, Al Mualim refused to do so, stating that he had no claim to the object. Robert rebuked him, claiming that he played a dangerous game and that the Templar forces could simply wait out the Assassins. The Mentor ignored this threat, and after the display of three Assassins leaping from the fortress' walls, he signaled Altaïr to activate a trap that caused several logs to tumble onto the Templar soldiers, killing many of them and scattering Robert's remaining men. With his forces severely diminished, Robert and the remaining Templars retreated from the town.

"My way is better." Oh god his arrogance is astoundingly awesome. I think that if his arrogance hadn't blinded his judgement, I couldn't find myself to hate him over his complete badassary.
...so you think killing an innocent person is "badass"?
John Walker yes
Minute???
@@NoeticInsight yes... yes it is. The way he did it was not only badass, it was glorious
@@NoeticInsight No but seeing how his character develop from this to the Mentor of the Levantine Brotherhood of Asaassins, is surely bad ass.

Altair started off as a total prick at the beginning of AC because of the bitter ending of AC Altair's Chronicles (the prequel story of AC)
Assassin's Creed: Revelation
CaptainBardiel in the first memory (Revelations) Altair was an excellent assassin, we don’t know what happened to him after that and before of this.
@@SlayerSaber we know actually, play ac altair's chronicles for the nds.
@@SlayerSaber Altair had a shit load of stress before this, and his love died. It's obvious why he's like this
@@scienceuser99 I mean before that.
this game need to be remasterized and improve in repetitive missions, the history is the best with different
Crk1523 it's still the best setting imo, but the worst executed in terms of gameplay
Best setting for sure
I think ubisoft needs to go a step further and make an entirely new game with Altair. The series has gone too far away from its original source material.
No they shouldn’t they could somehow ruin what’s already godly
@@maison.clemens176 they should keep it's exactly the same make a few tweaks to the parkour similar to unity's and improve the voice acting a little. And maybe make the robes more incognito because really how can you not see a the fuckin sword it's clear as day. But other than that. I say leave it alone.just those few major differences. It would really improve the game. No crazy armor upgrades no change in dialogue. But you know they'd change so many things they'll add stupid ass. Un natural side missions. Which would be cool. To an extent. No extra things to make it seem more historically accurate. I might be for it if they can avoid bugs. And they make the AI stupid although. I once saw an entire formation assassinated because after each stealth kill he would pray. And no one would suspect him. So maybe an improvement on the ai. But definitely leave the combat alone. They're gonna try and change shit up that way too I can just see it. The synch bar is different than the health bar. Ezio has a health bar and not a syncy bar. This being said. When you come out of synch its on you. Not altair. Which means altair was never actually hit. And for the love of God I hope they put in the wall run. So many assassin creed games and they've never had a wall run. I mean wtf.
Even in his arrogance, i still love Altair.
By the end of the game he learned his lesson
He was more arrogant than Edward and thats saying something
One of the best Stories I've seen in a Video Game.
9:33 jeez, Al Mualim would've hated Connor...
haha yeah but to be fair don't think Connor cared for the order just vengeance, but it so happens to be that he shared the same targets as the brotherhood so Achillies took advantage of that
If you play AC3 with 100% synchronization, you would find out that Connor is in fact a even better Assassin than Ezio when it comes to being stealthy.
@@laisensei6984 no
Can confirm. Connor is considered to be able to stalk people so effectively that people have made up ghost stories about him.
@@thattrickytrickster612 But if Connor fought Ezio or Altair in combat then he would lose both especially altair considering altair was almost never hit by anybody(he has only been hit a couple of times)and Ezio because Ezio had more knowledge and also had more experience than Connor but Connor is a badass nonetheless
i've never noticed how arrogant altair was at the beginning of ac1 actually
MG P not mentioning that Al-Mualim was the villain in this game, just we didn’t know that yet! So :/ Al-Mualim sent Altair to kill those targets for one reason, just to have for himself the apple.
No shit ivan.
I think Robert calling Al Mualim heretic was possibly foreshadowing Al Mualim’s treachery at the end of the game.
Ah ! My first Assassins game... and my first video game hero with shades of grey. Till then I had only played heroes who were goody two-shoes or who gradually turned to evil. But Altair..he was different... From the first scene onwards when he killed the innocent old man, I was initially conflicted in rooting for the guy and playing him. His cold arrogance only served to conflict me further, as his arrogance was justified by his skills and he was still a badass. It was interesting and different playing as Altair. As for the game, the lore of the Hassassins was alluring, and the soundtrack of Masyaf and the Assassins bureau was mysterious and actually made you feel like an Assassin on a mission. I still remember the exhilaration of my first Leap of Faith; the way the camera moved was beautiful. And the hidden blade.. beautiful and deadly. Stealth actually counted, unlike subsequent sequels, albeit the sequels were refined in their own way. Being a history fan also made me like the game further. Aah, good times.
Don’t know if it’s just me but hearing that slight *cling* as soon as the blade is sheathed is so satisfying to me
10:01
Every man we lost today was lost BECAUSE OF YOU!
I liked the glitch's. Theu gave a good reason for the changing camera angles.
This is the creed that needs to be remastered
I always wondered HOW he got the treasure. Two guards and Robert de Sable against a injuried Assassin? There's some shit there.
But i also believe in the theory that Kadar (his brother) sacrificed himself fighting the Templars so Malik could escape with the Ark.
And interesting theory. I now at least can imagine what happened there
I guess Kadar must have sacrificed himself and Malik then grabbed the treasure and ran off
I mean, 2 assassins against 5 templars is like 2 lions against 5 hyenas. There’s no way they’d be able to defeat them without being outnumbered. Kadar must’ve solely held off the templars, sacrificing his life in the process but giving Malik enough time to grab the Apple and escape.
I was surprised that he survived.
@@J-V-C_00 The Templars are just as well trained as the assassins.
lol I thought altair broke his leg when he land at 7:32 XD
same lmao
How could you think so? 😏 You don't know Altaïr then
AHHHHHHHHHhhHhhHhhH MY LEG
@@SkarletBloodthirsty Which is exactly why many people thought that. Watch it again, it really feels that way to a person who plays this for the first time.
@@sladechain573 I think my first time doesn't count because I already knew this game but Mobile version. But I wouldn't think that way because Altaïr is the main character -(BUT to think... I thought that Altaïr was really dead when Al-Mualim stabbed him o_o And then I was thinking "Wait, wait, is he gonna be replaced by other assassin? I don't remember such thing")-
lol altaïr took "nothing is true, everything is permitted" to literally
This dude really went "Hold, templars" in the most casual way
ezio’s apprentice kills an innocent: “dump the body it’ll be fine. Altaïr kills an innocent: *gets stabbed*
First one was a genuine mistake that was immediately lectured and shamed.
The other one led to a battle that killed many Assassins and exposed the Brotherhood to the enemy.
It's been 12 years since its first release but it still Gold!!!
The only thing Altair did wrong was kill the old man. He was right that the only thing that mattered was getting the job done. Altair is the father of modern free thinking. The Brotherhood was massively hypocritical until Altair took over as Mentor.
AngryBeaver30 Well he did openly attack a target when they are suppose to not compromise the brother. He also didn't hide in plain sight. And that old man could have alarmed them.
Pretty sure him killing the old men is meant to illustrate how callous and young he is in his early years as an assassin.
How were the Assassins hypocritical, if anything, Altair was the hypocrite for saying that he followed the creed, yet broke and betrayed in this first sequences all the creed stood for. Killing the man was wrong and unnecessary, there are better ways to get rid of him, rather than killing him. Freethinking my ass, he was a slave of his arrogance.
Yuwan But he learnt from his mistake, And reformed the brotherhood into free critical thinking . In fact, if you've played AC bloodlines Altair among all the other assassins is the only one who understands that freedom is chaotic but he'd rather have that then order cause that limits opportunity of knowledge. Connor, Ezio, Arno, and Edward were all latched on to their own ideology thinking that they were the only people who were right, but Altair never thought of that(after becoming mentor of course).
Altair not only killed an innocent for no reason(could've just knocked him out), he exposed himself and his allies to Robert for no reason and tried to kill him out in the open rather than using stealth.
Such a great game. The graphic looks even now good
So actually because of the guy that tried to stop Altair he failed to kill Robert. Never knew that until now lol.
It was all because of him and then he accused altair of not doing his job right!
Yeah, that basyatd messed up the kill.
He completely through off Altair's position and posture
No, because Altair made the obvious mistake of announcing himself to the enemy and therefore gave them the advantage.
“My way is better”-Altair
I love how the first moments of assassins creed altair already breaks every fckin rule lol
And yet he becomes one of the greatest
10:23 peace be upon you altair = assalamualaikum altair
there are soooo many musical pieces from this game that weren't released in the original soundtrack.
"OH MY LEG!"
I always wondered how a noob like Malik got the treasure from the templars.
well i guess he wasn't as much of a noob then, that tells us that even the low rank assassins are still deadly, plus Kadar sacrificed himself so Malik could escape alive.
David G. And besides, before Altairs final battle with Al Mualim, Malik was able to throw knives with only one arm to kill the enemies. I guess he was a badass
@@cond.oriano3264 it was a shame Abbas killed him off screen.
David G. He did? I played Revelations but never realized that lol
If you look closely, Malik wears the same robe and belt as Altair before his demotion. They are likely of the same rank, it’s only kadar who wears the journeyman grey outfit in the first scenes of the game.
The first game had the darkest, creepiest vibe/tone
I always wondered why Altair screams a second after Al Mualim stabs him.
He probably tried to hold his scream so that he would show Al Mualim he does not feel pain , but that time it was not enough....
It's kind of funny to me how delayed that scream was lol
I like how neutral Kadar is.
"Excellent kill! Fortune favours your blade."
Goddamn those graphics were good for their time.

My leg! The guy from Spongebob was in Assassins Creed? *_*
FenrirtheWolf JAJAJAJAJJAJAJAJAJAJJAJAJAJA I WATCH SPONGEBOB OMG OMG
Altaïr is a contradiction in the beginning. He tugs at the skirts of his master, but rails against all other authority.
Oh my god I forgot how much of a douche bag Altaïr is! Why do I think he is adorable again? Oh yeah because of his interactions with Malik!
I cried when it was almost the end of the game and I was in Malik's Bureau and he said "We are one" I mean that whole scene made me wanna cry but when he said that it cut the thin like in between me holding it in and me crying like a baby! :D
thanks ive been looking for a better quality vid of this :)
Bro Robert de sable was savage
Ubisoft could create a game where we play as al mualim but instead we got a viking assassins fighting against odin

Ahh, yes RUclips and its recommendation prowess.
I thought they ignored the Ark and just found the piece of Eden, which didn't look like the Ark.
Strange casting choice for Altair in this game
OutlawStarkiller Ironically the actor who voices Altaïr is Arabic. The studio was originally going to go with a middle-eastern accent, but it felt awkward in game at this time hearing an Arab accent with the main character. So they decided for him to do an American accent.
Cecil no the voice actor is Persian/Iranian not Arab and they said the american accent was because the animus 1.0 was glitched, same way how the animus 2 in ac2 would have some Italian words dropped in sentences because of glitches
LionMountain is it the same voice actor for Altair in AC Revelations? He sounds a bit different and has more of an Arabic accent.
@@jdot634 No, the voice actor for Altair in Revelations is different. A shame though, it would’ve been cool if Philip Shahbaz, Altair’s voice actor in the first game, returned for Revelations.
I like his voice acting here despite sounding American. Sounds way better than the fake Syrian accent in Revelations (which doesn't sound any different from a fake Italian one)
And why do you prefer it here than Revelations?
It makes way more sense for him too sound as a Middle Eastern.
It would make more sense for them to speak Arabic then... Animus is a simulation which translates everything so it doesn’t have more sense to have accents when voices are translated. And Altair’s voice was way more badass in the original game n
He sounds more badass here
"AIYaaah OH MA LEGG" sorry that was funny as fuck
Love how Altair's such an arrogant arse at the beginning that he thinks one good deed will undo the massive fuck-up at Solomon's Temple.
Tbh Altair is better in this game then revelations his American voice is way better and this game is my favourite game along with cod waw just the nostalgic feel of these bring me closer to older games
Ironically, in this game, it was an arab voice actor who used an american accent and in revelations, it was an american voice actor who used a fake arab accent.
@@mfdoom4467 The guy who voiced Altair in the first game is Iranian, not Arab. Even though the American accent makes no sense and shouldn't have been used in the first game, they should've kept it in Revelations due to originality.
I like the whispering in the background music
The soundtrack in this game is awesome.
R.I.P Altair Ibn la ahad

Do you think Altaïr would beat Robert De Sable if Malik didn't try to stop him?

American accent?
Apparantly it was "cooler." A pathetic excuse if ever there was one.
Brandon.thelegend the animus 1.0 was glitched
TVTropes kinda explained it. Lucy said the language is in English because Desmond is American, so some people would sound more American than others. Idk if it's a good one TVTropes explained it better.
@@rockacraig5653 The Animus read Desmond's accent and changed it to an American one for Altair. This didn't happen for AC2 and ahead though because of the updates.

Wait, I'm dumb. It is the thing on the Ark.
Poor old man :(
ahhhh Old memories
Is Al Mualim connected to Barnabas because of the eye?
Aged like a fine wine. I forgot I commented this
This game needs a serious remake
Fr we should’ve gotten this not that bs mirage
This is where ezio was in the ac revalations trailer....
If I were Altair during the prologue, I would have used the pommel of either my short blade or long sword to knock the old man out. And if Robert De Sable stood in the way of the Apple of Eden, I would have snuck around him and grab the Apple under his nose. And even if I do get caught, I would just ran out of Solomon’s Temple, even if I leave Malik and Kadar behind.
2:14 i always jumped from there to be more badass
Ubisoft we need Assassin's creed remastered with more stories of Atair(Altair's Chronicls and Bloodlineswhich were never released on pc)...pls stop doing Valhalla and odyssey stuff pls
i think it has to do with the animus, but either way i prefer his voice in this to revelations....
Malik is an ass. Altair could have killed Robert and ended the war then and there if Malik wouldn't have friggin' tripped Altair. "Oops! Sorry, Alt-y! Mah bad!"
Why did Malik push Altair when he was attacking Robert de Sablé????🤔🤔
i remember the ending differently
I completed ac2 and brotherhood but the 2 computers I used to play ac1 got fricked and I still haven't beaten ac1.
Was Malik's brother the hostage? Or was he killed in Salomon's temple?
He was killed in the temple
I think it's Imram, another Malik's brother
Lol no sweetfx or high res mod? No enb?
Made me so sad when altair killed an innocent
Let me lead my people, tribe i got accepted in iz all
Black, wrote half of book, wrote other half crossed for regulations kisiah, right next to the sword guy lol
Al-Mualim judged bad Altair at the end, he is not a traitor, I know he didn’t follow the creed, but he never was on Templars side, so... he just didn’t follow the creed, that’s all.
If you think about it the game tells us that the reason they failed is because of Altair's arrogance. But actually it is Malik's foolishness. Altair had the perfect chance to assassinate Rober Tussaud but Malik pushed altair.
Funny how after all the clues Altair got Robert on his intention, including walking up straight to him you still think Altair'd succeed even if uninterrupted.
I believe who disliked the video are beilibers
Pro Gamer Jastej Why would they hate Assassin’s Creed?
Come see me with some ice plz lol
The memmories😭😭
Malik did pull he is hand that's why he couldn't kill him?
Nah, whether Malik grabbed his hand or not, the result would've been the same. Robert De Sable was Altair's superior at this point in the story, he very clearly overpowered Altair.
AAAAHHHH MY LEG!!!
Assassins Creed is a good game, but it has such wasted potential. Not nearly as badass as the trailer.
God just left
This castle real name alamut in iran
what is the name of Malik brother?
Varrimatrass
Kadar
Is al mualim a sage?
Yes, the hashishin leaders learned philosophy so in some ways he is a sage. Also, alchemy became really popular in Medieval Arabia and Persia, and so did the learning of the occult, so he's the combination of sage, alchemist and occultist.
Why does he have a different accent then the rest?
This attack was all Altair fault for breaking the creed because of his dead girlfriend and being arrogance by making the Templars invaded Masyaf which cost us a lot of our brothers in arms didn’t it right my fellow brothers
It was that idiot Malik tripping Altair
@fraroc at least he gets taught a lesson XD
