this goes extra hard knowing this might have been their last year ever... drum finish in the classic cadets colors is a nice touch too esp with the trad unis
What an absolutely badass video. Also, seeing The Cadets have east coast legends McNutt, Aungst, and Beddis all write for them in the span of less than 10 years is so cool
Every one of them owes so much of what they do to Thom Hannum. Facts. I was there, in the mix, having marched with one of them and having been taught by and teaching with the other 2. Thom is a living National Treasure.
I had been any activity since 1955, in my opinion, DCI as turn the activity into a marching band competition, superimposed on a three ring circus. I have absolutely nothing against a marching band, please call it what it really is today, marching band International. When people make a comment all the activity has to progress, then baseball players in football players to start wearing costumes, dancing and prancing as they play in the football or baseball game they need to use 1,000 props and probably add a dozen or so more players on the field playing the game that would be, called progress in their opinion. And a former member of the Long Island Sunrisers drum and bugle Corps. That is another major mistake DC I made, they never encouraged when you age out to join a senior drum and bugle Corps, that would have perpetuated the activity further. Kids crying because they are aging out at the DCI Championship boohoo I can never watch again I can never play again, wrong. Just join a senior drum and bugle Corps. Use a go the senior drum course what form better than most Juniors only because the Juniors when they aged out enter the ranks of the senior drum and bugle Corps, like the Hawthorne Caballeros, Long Island sunrises, reading Buccaneers, Syracuse brigadiers, Archer Epler Musketeers, Riley Raiders, and many other top-notch senior drum and bugle Corps. In my opinion major mistake by DCI.
@@ziggystardust4627 No, not anymore. Bluecoats switched to spandex in 2016 and everyone followed suit the next year. Occasionally you get exceptions, like Crossmen last year, who wore the harness underneath the uniform.
@@jordankay4754 Just watched the 2022 DCI Finals montage and saw both corps with them under their uniforms, and corps with them outside the uniforms. Our local high school band, which was directed by SCV and Cadets alums, who had professional positions at BK and Phantom, used carriers under the uniforms. Found a video of Bluecoats with the carriers under the uniforms in 2011. I guess it could go both ways.
I thought the T-shirts and gym shorts uni was a joke or that their real uniforms were somehow delayed. Now I have hope for a traditional uniform reveal in their show later in the season. Probably won’t happen but I can hope.
Strike Up the Band is what we played when we were parading. Standing still we played Cadillac of the Skies, and this piece is the opener of our show, taken from Man of Steel
Apparently, I'm the only drum corps fan on the planet who's too busy listening to the music and watching the drumming to give a flying fuck what the kids are wearing.
Fair, "the only drum line from the only corps" is more accurate. Athletic uniform for a competition, traditional uniform for ceremonies. Everyone else will catch on eventually.
sooo awesome to see them play show beats in the classic unis

Why are they stopping?!
@@GK-lo4yd In simple terms, had to file bankruptcy due to a lawsuit.

It's kinda cool that they all sound sort of similar too? Might just be me?
@@BeatKid9000 yeah it’s that east coast style, and both McNutt and Beddis learned from Aungst

Bring back the old unis!
Wakefield, MA loves the Cadets. I know the kids appreciate the love from them.
The gock around 1:04 is so disrespectfully effective. Favorite note ever played
Outstanding! Good job, Cadets! HB595 #FHNSAB
Extremely impressive!! Good luck!!
Reminds me of early-mid 00's Cadets.
Miss these uniforms. this new flowery spandex trend has been a step back for drum corps
I know seriously. It went from military style to Project Runway.

Crazy how you can actually see the uniform without the drum harness covering the entire thing
I think it's been pretty common these days for bands and corps to design their uniforms so that they go over the carriers.

Had to do a double check to make sure this wasn’t 1989 Cadets. 😉
haha....yea I had to do a double take when I saw the thumbnail for this along with the date posted
Hey....I resemble that remark! 😜
Come to Brazil!
Lol what
That was A LOT A LOT A LOT of notes!
Wooooow. Was also thinking 2003ish
This makes me want to run through a wall
#BRINGBACKHATSANDPLUMES
Loving the uniforms. Refreshing compared to the Walmart gym outfits they wear for show
Write these guys seem really good!
Perfection
damkn i think they might be cleaner than BAC rn if i'm being honest
I prefer their traditional uniforms to the Cirque du Soleil costumes they wear on the field.
if they wore cirque de soleil costumes on the field they would score even higher than they do now
oh. my. god. YES
Super clean. I just wish they would wear those uniforms on the field!
Yessir “best drumline ever”
Real unis and shakos. #fixed
Peep the CWP visual
A Peterman classic
"erm not actually the best line" as if you've never felt like your corps' line was the best in the world
What is the title of the parade music at the Bristol July 4th parade?
Strike Up the Band is what we played when we were parading. Standing still we played Cadillac of the Skies, and this piece is the opener of our show, taken from Man of Steel
Lol first video with this title that could be argued of being true
The traditional uniforms are great. Time to start wearing them in then normal show. The gym clothes look isn't working. Love the traditional uniforms!

Multi tasking isn’t that hard. You know. Watching and listening.
@@THEnelsonbruhs Well no one seems to care about the music when they hate the visual components
@@nateiott4346 that’s never been an issue for me personally. I can hate a uniform and still like the music.

@@THEnelsonbruhs Tbf most of us can but I know you know the kind of people I'm talking about
god they're sick this year
L. Ron Hubbard spotted.
So handsome in the uniforms: why do they bother with those cheap looking costumes from Big Lots?
Wait.....why are they wearing their uniforms???
4th of July parade....
They realized they look better.
BAC will have something to say about this line.
And BD and apparently Cavies who won drums in Houston last night.
BAC was not in the line, so it will be interesting later this summer.
Kinda an over the top title imo, but damn they are clean this year. 👏Lee Beddis👏
Hope everyone goes back to uniforms & ditch those StarTrek color guard outfits they’ve transitioned to recently 🤮
This just wouldn’t be as cool in soccer shorts and leggings.
Boomer fest in the comments
So what? And where are the „young folks“ if everybody is a Boomer?
???
I'm just saying you can't say this is the best drumline in the world. Love the OG unis though ♥
