good info, bet lots people don't know about some of this. I am a silver executive member and it allows you to use their lounges and book your flight seats immediately on booking - some great perks. Wa old for a while, but that only lasted a year unfortunately.
hi thanks for explaining this! I have signed up a couple of days ago and really did not know how much an avios point was worth and how i could get more so this was super helpful man :)
Thanks for the helpful tips. Any chance of producing a step-by-step dummies guide to using one's points on the BA site? I have struggled to use ANY points as the flights I want are invariably booked up. Maybe the trick is booking a year in advance rather than just three months ahead? Each time I go to the BA site I leave it feeling frustrated and short changed. I've built up a fair number of points. I would love to experience Business Class.
Hi Robin. If you download an app (or visit website) called seat spy. You can put in the route you want to fly and it tells you if there is any reward (points) seats available. You don’t need to put in dates as it will show you for all dates. This is the best way to find rewards seats for BA.
@@aimeeandleetravel but u can only use one of those sites to get ur ticket entirely with Avios.., I learnt the hard way.. If you book thru the BA site you can only part-exchange! That is what I discovered anyway
Points will be automatically added if you had your EC number on the booking. If they haven’t been or you didn’t have your number attached then you can complete a form in the ‘My account’ sections of the EC website and you will be able to claim your missing avois. Hope this helps!
How long does it usually take for the Avios points to reflect onto your account? Making that first purchase and waiting for it to reflect is a bit nervy thinking I may have done something wrong.
If you link you British Airways AMEX card to your British Airways executive club profile and do online shopping via BA? Do you get "extra" avios points? example: say the retailer offers 2 avios per £1 spent and I spend £10 on a purchase using my British Airways AMEX, would I get 20avios (from using the website) + an extra 10 avios from using my BA AMEX? Cheers, good video.
Thanks for watching! Yeah your Amex card and the BA shopping portal are separate. So you would get your avios for purchase via the shopping portal and you would also receive your avios from your spend with the Amex card! All good for getting them cheap flights with BA!
If you book it with only avios you will not receive any avios back however if you part pay or upgrade with avios you will receive the avios for the part of the ticket you paid cash for! Hope this helps
The problem is, BA are refusing to honour points earned through their shopping portal. I have had two claims for points rejected already because the transactions did not track properly despite me doi g everything I needed to do. Its turning out to be a bit of a waste of time.
I read an article just yesterday about this, I personally haven't had an issue but know alot of people are. End of the day it costs nothing extra to order thing through the ba website so I would still say it is worth it for the times it does work. Out of interest have you contacted ba about this issue?
@@aimeeandleetravel I had registered two claims for Dominos Pizza orders; the first was rejected, the second was ignored. I'm currently claiming for missing points on a Moonpig order, and have not received points for a second Moonpig order, which I will claim in due course. The shopping portal also doesn't redirect to Booking.com properly, so I used Expedia for the Expedia Reward points instead (BA couldn't reproduce the problem). Constant issues and I only signed up around two months ago. It can also cost more to use a BA partner, as those shops are often much more expensive than buying through the likes of Amazon, who are not a partner. It would be worth it for the points if it actually worked. I'm now quite concerned that if I exchange clubcard points or Natwest Rewards for Avios, there is no guarantee of the points showing in my account. Yes, I've contacted BA through their points claiming system and through Twitter, and needless to say they have not been very helpful at all.
@@Coaster_Contrarian that is not good to hear at all, you would maybe be better trying something different like top cash back or virgin Atlantic rewards club if your problem persists.

I still don’t understand where is best to book ur flights from? BA app or executive club app? 🤔 it’s so confusing…
Best to use the website over either app as the app just eventually redirects you to the website to book anyway.

How do add points to your account. After you fly?

If it’s from the avios store they will show in pending within 2-7 days and you will receive them 20-90 days after your receive your purchase
