Olympic champion Tom Daley puts his baking skills to the test for Stand Up To Cancer alongside comedian Lucy Beaumont, actor David Morrissey and radio presenter Adele Roberts.
Under the watchful eyes of Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, Tom made a savoury quiche inspired by his time doubles-diving, a teatime biscuit classic and a showstopping ‘day off’ in cake.

That was really creative! It was a crochet cake though. Knitting is 2 needles and crochet is 1 hook!

Bleu cheeseburger quiche sounds fantastic, actually. I'm not vegetarian, so I'd probably use real beef. That's probably the only reason his "meat" ended up overdone, it's because it needs to be cooked less than real meat, since it's less fatty and more prone to drying out.

If he had had like 10 meter long candy laces, he could've crocheted a really cool pattern. But I doubt those things exist. Would've be cool though, cover the sides in like a butterfly crochet blanket.
The absolute dust storm the one lady produced made me laugh hysterically.
Thumbs down because there's a difference between crochet and knit - he CROCHETS the cake. No matter what he's naming it.
Tom Daley does both, i guess that's why both knitting and crocheting is incorporated in the cake
The side panels of the cake, tho not actually knitted, were patterned to look like knitting. But yeah, slightly misleading title

OTOH, crochet is called knit in many countries. I had a hell of a time buying knitting needles in France, crochet would have at least gotten me into the right store.

As someone who both crochets and knits, I find it endlessly annoying when people interchange the two terms as if they were synonymous. I am not alone in this. Hence you will see crochet aficionados with tote bags and other ephemera printed with the slogan "IT'S NOT KNIT"

It may indeed be her real laugh (I wouldn't know, obviously). It just sounds fake lol. Not picking on her to be clear. I have plenty of weird and funny things about me too. We all do
I do not know this guy, so maybe he just being extra for the show., but he comes off a little snobbish.
His knitting projects are terrible quality and overpriced.
Two things:
1. Why does society think that Tom is oh so cool cause he does womens work by knitting. Women should be given credit for doing that work. When a guy does it, so what? That’s not a criticism of Tom, but of a sexist society. And he is silent on that issue.
2. He and his partner have again bought a child through surrogacy. He is silent on the morality of this issue. Why is it acce
Why is it acceptable to buy a womens uterus/womb? Yet it isn’t acceptable to buy a prostitutes vagina, ass or mouth? Tom is exploiting the vulnerability of a surrogate for his own reasons just in the same way a John exploits a sex worker ..

The idea that knitting is "women's work" is a very recent perception - and flat-out wrong. In fact, knitting was initially an exclusively a male occupation, with Knitting Guilds (circa 14th century) producing knitted garments. It was big business and highly respected work. Also, knitting is thought to have been originally developed by fishermen, adapting the knots they used for nets. In short, it was a mostly male craft for far longer than it's been associated mainly with women. I'd say your notions about knitting are as outmoded and bigoted as your notions about surrogacy,
