7:42 there was a lot of controversy over the baked Alaska fiasco. The show was edited to make it look like sabotage, but Ian himself (and the hosts) were upset over the editing & bullying that followed. His cake was not sitting out for long, under 40 seconds. Diane only took it out because she needed to freeze her own ice cream, and it was taking up her assigned freezer. Confusion had arisen due to two freezers breaking over the weekend, but not everyone was informed of this. Diana did not cost him the competition at all, he just didn’t have enough time to set his cake
Thanks for that explanation! I was certainly puzzled, because it did come across as a monstrously selfish act, and I couldn't believe anyone would have been so selfish. Of course, no-one was. However the tantrum was very self-destructive.
It still would have been proper for her to tell him at least as soon as she took it out, I would have. But I agree with the explanation its not nearly as big as it was made out to be and Diane certainly did not deserve any abuse over it.
James' barn does not need to be on the list. Despite intention, the end result was successful and gave him a win, so it shouldn't qualify as one of the worst bakes.
No, it actually was a nasty fall that gave her a horrible closed head injury. The timing was pretty bad. Also, the editing made her look more responsible than she apparently really was.
I felt sorry for him too. They need to have both standing freezers and fridges, to ensure there is likely to be enough space. I am not sure, but presume they likely did after that episode, tell contestants not to touch anyone else’s bakes if they are in the fridge. They should need to get the person and ask them to adjust/move it. There is more than one fridge/freezer there so if you have to put it in one slightly further away from your table you have to do that. Even without editing, if you take out someone else’s bake, even if it is for 5 mins so you can put yours in , especially when it is something that needs to chill and the heat is sweltering, it still makes you look like a saboteur even if that was not your intention.
Just to clarify- Ian was quite upset that Diane was blamed for all of this. The cake was out of the freezer for only 40 seconds at most, but the show was edited to make it look like she had sabotaged him on purpose for dramatic effect. It was also actually her freezer, she had to use it
2:53 I don’t know what those judges were complaining about, that one actually looked pretty good, plus he did put a lot of detail into the background and his mini self portrait👍
Dame Edna having to cut away the tin to get out the biscuit. To be fair you could do a whole serious for her; top 10 times she insulted celebrities, 10 times she spoken about her gynaecologist; top 10 outfits

You don't get to call that a "tantrum." It's a baking competition, and there was NO REASON for her to remove someone else's work. I would've thrown it out, too, then followed it with HERS. I don't understand why educated sabotage didn't get her immediately taken off the show. Doesn't matter if she meant to sabotage him or not, she touched someone else's belongings and ruined it. No mention of the time Toby managed to slice both of his thumbs and mistake salt for sugar, all in the span of one episode?
I was thinking the same thing. I thought Paul was gonna puke when he tasted that salty angel food cake.
Poor Toby! As he said at the end, the only thing he got right was predicting he'd go home 🤦🤣💔
That’s not a creation though unless he made a creation of sliced thumbs

We definitely should call the barn serendipity. Maybe we should have another video of great mistakes.
the cobwebs were amazing!
James Acaster had to be in this - he was absolutely brilliant. If I’m having a bad day I watch it as it makes me laugh SO much!
I think the salt cake would be the worst. As long as it's sweet I would definitely eat it. 🎂
I was so SO sad for Ian. I was kind of glad when that lady was sent home in a later episode. There were choices made and hers sucked.
Didn't she choose to leave the show because of all the bullying from the public?
No, it actually was a nasty fall that gave her a horrible closed head injury. The timing was pretty bad. Also, the editing made her look more responsible than she apparently really was.

I absolutely LOVE when Jo Brand sits on the butter for a few minutes to warm it up!!

Boy, the original series was SO great!!
What about Roisin Conaty's Gingerbread Biscuit Scene? Now That was Bad!
I though James acaster would be on this list.
Why is 4 on here? It was good 🤷🏻♂️
The narrator said so himself, but I think what he meant was that the barn didn’t match what was intended.
I ate a salt based cranberry crumble pie in junior high culinary. Cook mistook salt for sugar. Took me a month to forget the flavor.
Well need to apply this year
This is almost like the UKs version of Nailed It on Netflix. 🤣
It's not good content unless they intentionally pick contestats that they know are bad at baking.

Celebs should be a separate video! 😩
is this really the same channel as the American Mojo?? this is so soothing and lovely...
Maggie forgetting flour in a bake?
How is big narstie not on here?! He should be on there instead of the barn guy who actually made his work out.
yeah...the incident...LOL...and the fiasco...ohmygawd.
Love it
Do you remember the Junior bake off that was a good show

Millions of people find this funnier than the same channel's Peep Show?
Surely not.

I don't think people find it funnier, but maybe more enjoyable. I don't think it's a fair comparison anyway.

Jamie isn't heir to McVities BTW
Jamie Laing? He is the heir as he's the great-great-grandson of Sir Alexander Grant, who created the McVitie's digestive biscuit in 1892
