Because Frank Langella‘s son was a huge fan of the toys. He played Skeletor for him and loved playing the character. He dominated the whole movie with his performance. Meg Foster? Man her eyes gave her all jobs! 🤣🔥
@@windi1982Frank Langella was really convincing. He stole the show and in this movie he has the same class as Dr Doom.He was also very impressive in Ralph Nelson s Wrath of God with late great Robert Mitchum
+rockstarbd82 I saw this movie in theaters when i was 5 in St Louis as i was a big He-Man fan growing up as i had nearly all the toys and Greyskull plus had episodes taped, dug the Secret of the Sword movie, i even watched She-Ra not only just for Hordak who was in my He-Man toys but i had a thing for Adora/Frosta/Catra/Mermista etc. LOL and loved that He-Man and friends would be guests. I thought the movie was ok but could had stuck to the original screenplay which is very different than the movie you saw. The score is nice i gotta say even if it sounds like Krull, Star Wars and Superman combined. Langella was fantastic as Skeletor.
I love this score, but my Zeus I have it on vinyl, cassette and 4 versions of it on CD. All for the vault, but damn Conti, this score kicks so much ass. One of my favorites by the composer.
thats what thriller movies today are missing, Kickass soundtract. Grew up watching this movie. The soundract itself played a hugh part and helped made a memorable childhood. Really captured my imagination in those days. Thanks for sharing.
Hollywood sadly thinks the crap Hans Zimmer puts out constitutes music these days. Sadly the majority of the great composers have all passed on. Alan Silvestri is about the only one now who puts out excellent movie scores.
The series that grew up with me... this movie was epic. Deeper and darker than the cartoon and toys I grew out of in the 5th grade... then in the end of 6th grade, and beginning of Junior High and 7th grade this movie hit me in the face.
I think this movie is more faithful to the franchise than it seems. No Prince Adam, Skeletor as an invader, Man-T-Arms as a war veteran. Sorceress with a goddess status…that’s basically the original minicomics! But no, people only thought about that cartoon…
I saw this in theaters wen i lived in St Louis when i was 5 as i was a big He-Man fan growing up as i had some of the toys, castle greyskull, had He-Man/She-Ra taped every afternoon, had some t-shirts, Underroos and all that and thought this was an ok movie at best but the score is nice.
Although it sounds nothing like JW would do it, it has almost none of his signature compositional tricks. It is an awesome adventure 80/90s movie sound without copying anyone's style.

I know that this movie was slammed, but I still maintain that it was well ahead of it's time. From set design and especially the costumes! They're the same quality (if not better) as The Lord of the Rings costumes and armour, some 20odd years later! Quality film!
You´re out of your mind. No, these costumes are not the same quality as LOTR, this looks like cheap plastic. Specially when you compare it to movies like Excalibur, the Neverending Story, the Dark Crystal, Conan the Barbarian... All movies that came before this MOTU movie "thing..."
There was an old cartoon intro in VHS tapes which had this music? Anyone know it, remember it or know where to see it? It was the intro for different cartoons. Great underrated movie and great OST!
Skeletor in this movie was aaaawesomeeeeew
I don't care what anyone says, this main title theme is just as great as Star Wars.
Fantastic soundtrack from the genius that is Bill Conti
This movie is one of my guilty pleasures. Skeletor and Evil Lyn were amazing
I fancied Evil Lynn & thought she was HOT.😆
She was soooo hot!!!!! And i agree her and Skeletor were by far the best characters

One of Bill Conti's best works
For a film that gets so much undeserved flakk, it packs one hell of an unforgettable music score.
+rockstarbd82 Not too mention that Frank Langella was amazing at playing Skeletor. But you are right, the score is incredible.

Dude Frank Langella took a villain that was a comic relief in a cartoon, and made him scary as hell. It was outstanding
@@jduttskywalker Agreed!
Conti did Rocky remember that was pretty good
loved this film as a kid an i still do, but i must admit dolph your great but its skeletor that made this, franks perfomance was amazing
Frank Langella is Skeletor!
Totally was and it's my favourite in the movie!!!!
Frank‘s son was a huge fan of the toys, that’s why he took over the part of Skeletor.
And he took over the whole movie! 🤣🤷♂️

After the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe the Cartoon 1983 to 1985 is Complete in 130 Episodes.
An unforgettable musical punch! Fucking a!
One of my fav childhood movies
Me too
This music is very beautiful!! It makes me fly.
i love this
Okay, Conti was forced to mine Williams' 'Superman', but he still managed to make this memorable.
Superman and Star Wars
As a child i hadnt yet seen superman (78) so this theme was a big deal to me
music for a free people...always victorious

As a kid: "This is rubbish, it's nothing like the cartoon!"
As an adult: "The is one of the best films I've ever seen, who cares about the cartoon!"
- We need John Williams for this movie
- We can't afford him
- Ok, get Bill Conti instead and make him compose as Williams would
Totally fair comment, however, you can't say that the end result isn't brilliant!

can you post the full soundtrack?
It's a bird? it's a plane? a boy flying on his bike? an archeologist? or a bad guy in a black helmet from a galaxy far far away?
If Quentin Tarantino wrote film scores...
It's a CGI useless fan who think know something about soundtracks.
The Rumour has it that Bill Conti was uncredited for John Williams Superman.
Aaron Spelling was the link...
Either way Dolf was the man.
