How to paint a Bird with feathers | gouache painting tutorial | part-1

- Hello there, welcome back to my channel. In this video I am going to paint a robin bird using gouache paint. Now this is only the first part of the whole painting process. Here I will focus mainly in the drawing and modelling of the painting. What I mean by modelling is that I will try to establish a base tone for the painting where I can work later on to establish the details. As in this case I just started with the initial drawing of the bird which is very important because in realistic painting your drawing is as important as your painting itself. So once the drawing was established I started the basic colors that were present in this bird which were mainly a grey tone mixed with a lot of other colors like Prussian blue, yellow ochre etc. For the neck region of this bird I just used vermillion as the base color and then I used a lot of other variations of vermillion to create depth in the feathers. In this video I have also shown my approach towards painting the feathers using dry brush technique where I tried my best to keep the things as simple as possible. Hopefully this video will be helpful for you in the process of learning how to paint the feathers of the bird and the other aspect in a bird painting. The detailing part with the finished piece will be shown in the 2nd part of the video.
