Same @jasonholmes very good description, and memories, one of the better Vietnam war recollections of ANY detail there, let alone MACV-SOG!!
Greetings from Scotland, I've just enjoyed listening to this podcast while was at work and i hope to watch it properly later on.
I have subscribed to your channel and purchased Mr Wolcoff' s book to add to my collection of MACV-SOG books.
I'm sorry I can't participate in your live broadcasts but this due to work and time zone constraints, keep up the good work and good hunting!
I appreciate all the kind words and praise! It means a lot. I’ll pass this on to Ed. He should be back later this month to finish up. I’m gonna try to have an episode for the overseas crowd here soon 👍
Bud this one was great, the augmenting of photos,& maps, was like a lil briefing with ISR, takes it to another level, that's the ticket.
Talk to Ed today! Trying to setup up his return
Thank You Mr Wolcoff

Great presentation, all of the information was appreciated. It’s good to know these TTPs were preserved. My buddy is a medic in a recon element and I’m going to order this book for him and myself. Looking forward to part two. 🍀

I was stationed at Fort Bragg and our Photo unit was on Smoke Bomb Hill across the Street from the 18th Airborne Corps Sport Parachute Club. We were not SF nor Airborne. My CO got me wavered into NCO Academy at Camp Mackall. I was a SP4. The guy in the bunk next to me during that Academy was none other than SSG Wolcoff who ultimately became the Honor Graduate of that class. I was #38/130. I still have the Newspaper clipping of the graduation with Ed cutting a cake with his beautiful wife. I remember her picking him up after the 3 week course in a tiny yellow Honda. They were brand new in the US and it looked like a Clown Car. I had not thought of him until I read John Plaster's book and thought, I know that guy. I also was at Jungle training (filming it) with Wendell Glass outside Fort Eglin in FL. After my ETS in 1974, I worked with Jeff Mauceri who was in RT Washington.
BRAVO! A historical and a master class on TTP , thank you both.
Hope you saw his latest visit ! Trying have him back again next week
Great content keep it going
Awesome to see a map and specific locations of missions. Beats the heck out of my guesswork
Can’t wait for pt3 that’s the real deep dive!!! I’m glad you enjoyed pt1
Another great episode .Thanks again Bud.
Glad you are enjoying them! I hope to be back up and running next week 🇺🇸⚡️
Really enjoyed this
I’ve read most of the books out in SOG including Harvey Sals 4 volume set. He went into a lot of details I’ve always wanted to ask about. I say part 2 and he’ll if ya need a part 3 and 4 I’ll come along for the ride.
Thanks a lot man🍀
I’m glad you found us and enjoyed! Oh yeah you’ve got the holy grail there in SOG finds! Lol that’s what I said, I’m sending him these comments and I told him folks are wanting more ,so don’t go shortening yourself or cutting out stories! That’s what we are all dying to hear! Especially since this is his only “public” interview
Make sure you read if u haven't Billy Waugh's book,.. and Hunting the Jackal... isn't exclusively on SOG,but good stuff all the way up to OEF, in Afgh
Hi love your vlogs .
1 question , the mole from the USA in sog HQ , what happened to him .
He was responsible for many brave men being killed .
Heard it mentioned before with tilt , but not what happened to him. Hope he is still inn a dungeon, under a prison somewhere.
Cheers
Uk follower.
Read about him in many of the SOG books that has been a pleasure to read since Plaster's book. Highly recommend Franklin "Doug" Miller's reflections of a warrior" among many very good ones along with both of John Plaster's books
Oh yeah!! I’d you want the best or one of the best history books is a CCC history from start to finish w tons of stuff plaster didn’t get to. It’s Uncommon Valor by Stephen Moore !! Oh yes I read that years ago! I have a signed copy in my special autographed section of my SOG room of books. I’ve got some cool pics of Ed and Doug together
Very educating, excellent.
Thanks for watching! I’ll be getting him back on in a week or two 🇺🇸
Upmost Respect for these men.
These men are my superheroes

It would have been nice to see his face. Next part, swap the picture with his cam shot.
Thnx.
Amazing
Great podcast
Thank you! Without y’all it wouldn’t be possible
As an Army pilot who flew for CCN FOB 2 & 3 in 1968. Your point of the direction of Army aviation towards larger aircraft is well taken. The aircraft are so expensive that there is command pressure not to damage an aircraft. Plus the fact that the Army only has about 20% of the total helicopters it needs to fight anyone of size. We were unable to conduct concurrent full-scale operations in Iraq and Afghanistan because of the lack of Army helicopters and pilots. During Vietnam we bought over 10,000 Hueys.
Thank you for watching sir! Nice to see Vietnam vets or SOG vets ! Who did you fly with ?
Thanks for the great input sir.,& courageous service
the compramise was conformed years later when the spy was awarded the highest award by the NVA and when one of the Recon men had taken a picture in the officers mess in sigon during opertions and there was the mole sitting at the bar in the back ground of the picture.
He was actually in a photo with the CHIEF SOG and the Vietnamese counterpart.. the compromise occurred in 3 areas with him being the highest and longest serving mole.. Hope you enjoy all my interviews! Been doing these for 4-5 years now 👍
I think Stryker knew they were compramised the day the chooper went in to land and the indidge saw a wire strug across the intended LZ which was conected to a 500lb bomb RT Idaho @@budgibson185

Why do they never acknowledge the two Native Americans that operated consistently with SOG OPS always behind lines. We were always on tap, always !!
There were actually quite a few more Native Americans than just two!! And they do, John Plaster Tilt and Brokhausen all mention the Native American recon men..
you should see the interview with Howard Sugar on here he speaks about WD
“We” ? Did you run recon
