As a Black American, I must say this was an extremely powerful video you uploaded my brother. This means a lot to us Black people in the Diaspora, and to our brother and sisters in Ghana and on the rest of the African continent. The 1921 race massacre was one of many in this country. The horrors that my ancestors faced in this country could never be properly expressed or understood. The racial hatred was so pervasive and ingrained into the fabric of the American society, that the children of those who descend from those who were responsible for it, still use racial hatred and disparities in their every day lives with dealing with Black people. To see Queen mother, her brother and family come to Ghana at such an older age is a blessing to say the least. The bridge to our ancestral home is built, and now we must as Africans and descendants of Africans embrace each other as one family. I will be traveling myself to Ghana soon, and I look forward to many visits and eventually moving one day in the future.

@@kellyportland1823 Yes, our Afro Latino peoples are very much part of the African family across the world. From my research I found that an ancient variant of the Yoruba language called Lucumi is still spoken in Cuba to this very day. Even the food in some parts of Latin America (e.g Brazil) have some similarities with our own delicacies here. For example, there is acaraje (Brazilian delicacy) which bears close resemblance to our own Akara in West Africa with slight modifications. What is interesting is that they are both made with beans & palm oil. There are also significant traces of Africa in the dances, modes of worship and music over there too.
What a wonderful testimony of our people who have been misplaced by those who are still inflicted hurts amongst all black nations. Welcome back home Queen Mother. ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Bro. I've watched a ton of your videos but this is the first one that I shed some tears. I wish I could have taken my late mother to Africa. She gave me my love for Africa. Sadly she passed away before visiting the motherland. I'm so happy when our elders are able to make the trip back home.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. You owe it to her and your future descendants to make that trip reclaim what is rightly yours. It only takes 1 or 2 generations and viola your blood line is back to continental African.
@Follow The Good Path yes it was. It broke me inside. All my life my dad preached about the black movement. For he was apart of the black Panthers movement.
These elders made it to a hundred years of age. I know that they have knowledge of their indigenous ancestry. If they know that their ancestors were indigenous to America, why did they want to go to Africa? Btw, the brothers and sisters that created Black Wall Street were Creek Indians.
@Follow The Good Path : You're funny! Its you that dont want to believe the truth. Its you that believe in a lie! How about doing your family's genealogy. Youll see if you came from Africa or not.
WOW, what a video, what a woman! 107 years old woman still going strong and she never gave up on her dream, what and inspiration. I love this video so very much, thank you so much Wode Maya, God bless abundantly.

This brought tears to my eyes. I LOVE US! I love how they welcomed their sister and brother with open arms and treated them like royalty. The respect Africans treat our elders with is unmatched! The survivors of the Tulsa massacre deserved that royal treatment plus more. This video really made my day! God bless Mama Africa ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What an inspiring Queen mother, Nana! Increíble to think she is 107 years old and so alert, articulate and just beautiful. She is indeed blessed by the Most High. To be able to travel to the Continent at that age and have kept up with all the events is simply amazing. Congratulations Queen Mother. You exude love through and through. Congratulations to everyone who facilitated this from start to finish. To the President of Ghana and all the other officials who conferred citizenship to her, bravo, well done!! And to you big man Wode Maya, you are doing such an important work in showcasing the beauty and best of the continent to the rest of the world, especially us in the diaspora. Thank you! So many of us desire to visit the motherland and Nana's visit has further inspired my plan to make it to Ghana sooner than later. BRAVO FROM JAMAICA!!!
Queen Mother really looked like she was enjoying herself. This gave me so much hope❤️ I wanna stay in the village though. I’m thankful for the Africans I’ve connected with here in NYC. We must re-educate ourselves and teach our children the truth.
Yes sister, I am from the Cameroons but currently reside in the UK. Making plans to move back to the continent permanently. We have a duty to build the Africa we want. No more complaining about this or that. If you can't contribute to the growth of Africa then don't complain about what others are doing. Do your bit only then can you complain about how your penny is being used.
I am so disheartened about a lot of the things you see on you tube in and about Africa. No where is perfect right.... Africa is in my heart as my bloodline is from there enslaved to the Caribbean.🇩🇲 I don’t know if I will ever go if I did it would be Ghana. Wode Maya you really opened my eyes to the continent From what we were taught at school it was lies. Respect too you ✊🏾
The Beauty of Africa is the warmest kindness and love of it's people in the face of Adversity! Queen Mother Fletcher at the age of 107 is living the biblical times and a testament of God's Grace! Being honoured by strangers in a foreign land despite her trials is amazing! There are lots of Historical events that has happened to black people all over the world that are known or not but this Tulsa Massacre is a great revelation to all and justice will be served in due time! Thanks Wode Maya!
This brought happy tears and sad tears. I'm happy she received the honors she so deserves while she is still physically with us, and happy she had a chance to see and experience the Motherland for herself (despite the negative perceptions forced on us in the west). I'm sad for what she and many that came before us endured...and sad that we are still treated inhumanely many times today. One love and bless-up for sharing this 🇯🇲🇺🇲

Touching. I can only imagine and hope everything African American or Caribbean alike would enjoy the same experience.
Amen to that, but let’s not forget our Afro Latino brothers and sisters to, I know it’s not intentional but more to do with the language barrier we forget to include those brothers and sisters but their our people to. Peace and love sister ✌🏾
@@kellyportland1823
Yes, our Afro Latino peoples are very much part of the African family across the world. There are also significant traces of Africa in the dances, modes of worship and music over there too.
...and Latin America where most Africans in the west reside.
You interviewed Mother Fletcher - I was so pleased she and her brother got to go home. 😍😍😍
Welcome to our homeland Ghana 🇬🇭❤️
*OMG!!!* Woda Maya I seriously can't believe you met up with the Tulsa massacre survivor. My brotha is making big moves out here ❤❤
He flexing!!! 💪🏾😁
You should go to Africa for your mother to represent her. You will never be the same. Africa is home
When tou come to Africa, to late mother's devine spirit will be with you wherever you go. You are always welcome back home.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. You owe it to her and your future descendants to make that trip reclaim what is rightly yours. It only takes 1 or 2 generations and viola your blood line is back to continental African.
This was so touching. I was in tears to hearing her testimony. So happy she made Africa at 107. I still have hope to get there.🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌
@Follow The Good Path yes it was. It broke me inside. All my life my dad preached about the black movement. For he was apart of the black Panthers movement.
Me too. I cried my eyes out listening to her testimony. I am still crying. She is an amazing woman
Yeah, that was probably the pale people that called it "Little Africa".
WOW, what a video, what a woman! 107 years old woman still going strong and she never gave up on her dream, what and inspiration. I love this video so very much, thank you so much Wode Maya, God bless abundantly.
Thank you my brother for helping them tell their story. I love Americans and I adore African Americans. Their grace and enduring spirit is just beyond me.
QUEEN AND OUR GRANDMOTHER WELCOME TO THE MOTHER LAND .GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU. AMEN.
Awww what an honour! An honour to have her in Africa, and most importantly, to be honored by so many especially Ghanaians... God bless Ghana and Africa.
I still don't understand why the hell on earth must someone dislike this video. If you are among the haters of prosperity in Africa Live long to see AFRICA SHINING AND PROSPERING . LOVE YOU MAYA FOR THE WORK WELL DONE
"they" dislike the video.
Dreams never dies and that's one of the examples...finally she visited Africa and the story tells it all. Thanks wode maya for the video shared and u were very humble and serious with work in the video.
Wow! I’m glad you interviewed her wodemaya. Their story should be heard by everyone!
You must come to South African villages, some houses there compete with houses in the cities's surburbs.
@@donprincoify Im not going to answer you, forget it!!
Have subscribed to your channel. Hope to follow your journey when you start.

Such a sound mind at 107 and I forgot half of what I did last week! God bless her 🙏❤🇳🇦
This is awesome.... Thank you Queen 👑 mother at 107... Thanks a million Wode Maya... I AM MAYA
wow this content is as straight fire Maya. man I just wish our family from the other side should pull up to Africa already. I love my blacks folks.
This African born in Jamaica 🇯🇲 is coming for her African citizenship.
Blessed are thou among women. God had prolonged her life to tell the world one of the Tulsa massacres is still much alive.
As an African-American, I found this video very powerful and emotional. Thank You Wode Maya. 😭
Have u ever visited Africa bro?
Am an african on the continent!
@@papson2010 Not yet, but I'm planning on visiting about 7 countries by December 2022. I'm kinda nervous though.
I am so disheartened about a lot of the things you see on you tube in and about Africa. No where is perfect right....
Africa is in my heart as my bloodline is from there enslaved to the Caribbean.🇩🇲
I don’t know if I will ever go if I did it would be Ghana.
Wode Maya you really opened my eyes to the continent
From what we were taught at school it was lies.
Respect too you ✊🏾
What a touching story and beautiful celebration
Thank you Ghana for unapologetically embracing our African brethren in Diaspora. God bless our Queen mother ❤️❤️.
She was warmly greeted by her family when she went home🤗
@@martinezephyr11 Ase o Ase
Point of correction, she was honoured by her own family and the land of her ancestors( not a foreign land).
I so appreciate this WODE Maya. She is a treasure to Behold. You truly broke the mold with this one. I love ya for this brother.
Wow 107 and still sharp as a button, what a blessed elder may she live to see many more years.
One love and bless-up for sharing this 🇯🇲🇺🇲
Mothe was treated better in Ghana in ten days than she ever been treated her whole life in America! SAD!
I love this 107 year old woman!! I want to be like her when I grow up!
Amen and Amen🙏🙏🙏
Me too, I need her secret
Amen
Amazing ❤...she is absolutely BEAUTIFUL...my grandmother is 97 and we also call her Queen Mother👑❤..we live in the United States
She is so blessed, Aww, maaa sha Allah, it's the welcome party for me .
The fact that she can still talk and hear makes this video special.
wow Wode, you are actually doing some of the most important work there is in this life. God bless you and give you more opportunities.
Africa is the home of love, generosity, hospitality, innovation and kindness.
God bless you Wode Maya for the video.
Any fellow Zimbabwean🇿🇼 here to appreciate the works for Wode Maya?
Am Nigeria and you said it right

This was so beautiful! The United States has done nothing for Queen Mother her whole 107yrs on this land and to be in Africa for 8 days and was treated the best she has ever been treated. It was beautiful to see. All the massacres this land has done towards us has been horrible and they still do it. I visit Africa for the first time this year soon and I am so excited. It has always been a dream of mine and I have been lucky enough through dna testing to find my family who hails from nigeria, ghana, senegambia...etc. I would love to meet you wode maya.
I am humbled by God's providence, his abundant blessings on Africans. To see the elderly honoured is blessing and she herself testifies to a prayerful and loving life to overcome bitterness. Gold nugget from Queen mother.
From start to the end was really worth watching. No dull moments .
Awwww!
@@WODEMAYA I like the last word you say to the grandson
@@WODEMAYA You don't disappoint
Maya you are the International Social Relationship Ambassador. I can't wait to see you recognized by UNESCO. May it be so. Amen and Amen.
Historical consciousness should be in the DNA of all Africans 📚🌍✊🏾
Watching and listening I held back tears. Lost for words but I'm inspired to continue my work on the Motherland. Thanks again Wode Maya
This was EPIC!!!! The African Union needs to recognize and build statues in their names. What we just witnessed are ambassadors!!!. May God continue blessing them with longer life so that they can visit more countries in the motherboard. So gracious....

I just cried throughout this video. The words that kept popping up in my mind were, "I am the dream and the hope of the slave. And still I rise!"

I really enjoyed this video! God bless this woman 107!!! I want to be her one day ! However I pray I get to come back before I am as old . I left at age 16 ( northern Nigeria 🇳🇬) and have not been back ...for so many reasons, mostly fear and also I moved on to have a family here in the 🇺🇸 USA . Anyway I am sure my father and extended family who all still live in Nigeria would like me to visit. God bless Wode and all your viewers ❤️💐🌸
