Lefty!!! IDC this is 2years old. Being a lefty and new to guitar (@50) this is exactly what I like to see. Hope for cool stuff for us kooky southpaw six stringers!
My mom….. god rest her soul played classical. She was right handed. She handed me her guitar when I was 8. I’m left handed .
I’m now 62 and I’ve always played right handed and currently play a 1970 d35
I always tell people when the subject comes up. “ the greatest gift my mom ever gave me was handing me a right handed guitar. The second was explaining compound interest
...those Guilds do it for me ...so bright and upbeat
Those are incredible. I've got a mid-70's Guild 12 string that I absolutely love!
Vintage amps are alllllllmost as exciting as old guitars!
Great video Jeremy, Great Hunt!
Wow what a find!! As a lefty I loved this.
Amazing shop, I would never leave.
Sweet tone on that guitar 🙌🏻🎸🎶 it looks pretty clean!
The intonation will need to be checked on the 1971 D-28L. Not all 1970's Martin's were afflicted with intonation issues, but a lot were. It was something about a bad bridge placement template being used at the Martin Factory. Nice video for the Lefty's in the crowd!.
Thanks, Eric. Glad you're back.
Great video. Thank you.
That place is nuts! 🤯
I love Guilds too! I want one of every Westerly dread they made, including the 12s.
I like your channel and videos Jeremy, keep it up.
That's a bad ass shop. I'd love to go there and check it out and the stuff coming up..
I’m a lefty and the first electric I bought was an Ibanez. They didn’t have any made so the guitar shop gave me a righty to have for a couple of months while I waited. It’s kind of hilarious, but I’d bet most lefties are pretty good at playing righties upside down because that’s usually all we see. It was great to see a righty playing a nice guitar upside down. I am collecting boutique lefties to hopefully share with other lefties that have never had the chance to play a quality acoustic. Love your channel!
As a lefty thank you. The link to that reverb is a huge plus.
Awesome shop. Wish it wasn't so far from me ( KS ) would love to go there.
YES Jeremy, I definitely can sympathies with the statement in your video "that leftys have it harder than rightys!! I'm a lefty and recently received my lefty 5 string banjo after an eight and a half month wait! Now off to get a Taylor guitar lefty (another long wait) too. Good luck to all you left hander's.
Jeremy, great episode...
Thanks, Lee!
Wow! That's only a three hour drive from me (45 minutes, non rush-hour :). Thanks for the video!
How did I not know about this place? It's 15 minutes from me.
I loved it when he said it was a collection of a lot of lefties. Being in Alexandria Va that so true😜😜😜
😂
Dammit Jeremy, why couldn’t you have uploaded this yesterday when I was still in NoVA? Haha, I’ll definitely have to go check out these lefties if there are any left next time I’m back home. Great video, thanks for giving southpaws some love :)
I want a collection like that when I grow up
What a sale
Hey, Jeremy! I was always curious on how you would tune a guitar using harmonics. Can you do a tutorial on that? Much appreciated!
update: It's called pitch harmonics tuning or something related. I looked it up on RUclips and there's a tutorial. Now i can tune my guitar perfectly, I've tried to confirm my tuning with an android tuner after i tuned with my ear and it's pretty accurate. Thanks for showing this guitar tuning skill.
“My thing is old Matins….” Surprise, surprise for the guy known as “The Guitar Hunter” 😂
Dead to rights....
That F-20 Guild.... mmmmhhmmmm haha
Did your friend purchase the guitar?
If so how much did he pay. If you brokered the deal and your friend allows it , you should do a follow up video of the aftermath, ur final inspection and set up of the guitar and have ur friend give a few comments of the deal from his point of view.
It reminds me of guitar stores and pawn shops before eBay
Have you heard about the Martin MC 28
Got My hands on One last month
The lefty D28 seemed to have a cloudy finish on the sides. Can that be cleaned up?
Great video.
Did the guitars all had correct prizing on them, or did someone told him the correct tags...because hd seemed overwhelmed as well and a bit lost in so much incredible stuff he cant really really apreaciate as much as we in our gear and guitar nerd bubble❤😳😅cool vid man ps: did you get the OO guild that one looked so sweet
If there's any way to contact Paul McCartney, he'd scope that lefty D-28 right up, I believe his guitar tech is named Keith Smith, I'm going by memory, but it's something like that...
did he come back?
Do they have a list of guitars online? Nothing on their website
We have the Reverb for Mike’s Estate which is listed above, but our store’s Reverb is Royal Pawn of Crystal City 🤘🏽
@@nickrizer7738 thanks
The song you were playing around 12 minutes was amazing! Is that an original? If not what song is that?
That's something I made up a few years ago when I borrowed a friend's Lowden and it has stuck with me. It's in DADGAD.
The title got me wrong footed. I was expecting a Cold War plot where the Pentagon tried to stack guitars in case the balalaika's invaded us.
Of course these guitars would have been new back then. They became vintage by doing nothing for a long time. The same way I became vintage
I am left handed but I play right and I believe that is to my advantage.
Me too!
@@JeremySheppard please read this. A Martin Washburn collaboration from Patrick County VIRGINIA. In about 1853 John Martin left Patrick County with his family, 3 brothers, father in law and slaves with ox pulled carts and settled in Morgan county Missouri. The Martin Hotel is on the National Historic Landmarks list. In 1867 John T. Washburn followed after being a P.O.W. as a confederate corporal. He married a Martin daughter and they were my great grandparents I never met.
I do have a Martin D18GE and a Washburn Tanglewood I bought about January '84.
I just thought you might find this interesting. Good luck with your new ventures. I almost feel guilty watching now that you want paying members. It's pledge time at my church and my poor vision keeps me from working so I may go back to cigar box guitar videos. They're very fun to play and teach me much about theory (playing them). God bless you. Thank you.
You should run this demographics on your audience.
List their reverb dude
Just put it in the description. My bad!
can you turn the tv off in the back?
It was Moonshiners! Haha.
@@JeremySheppard oh, in that case totally approved. Love the show!!
is the tv compulsory?
It was Moonshiners!
Should of turned the tv down.😂😂😂
Seriously. Haha. Sorry!
Martin D-28 1971 is $6,000? oh, man, it values about $2,500~3,000. No adjustable tross rod, and just east indian rosewood back and side not brazilian. too pricey.
If it was right handed, sure, but it's pricey to be lefty. This one was so clean. It sold for $4,000. I think that's a good deal.
One would think dude could kill the mindless CNN feed or whatever the hell that was....WTF?
It’s OANN. Sorry. Was having to deal with other customers at the same time too. Would love to have Jeremy perform something in the basement setup someday.
@@nickrizer7738 Ha! Was a bit harsh on my end I am thinking....was just sayin'! Cool shop, unreal collection! Good for you!
@@deanpesci8484 thank you, Dean!
