The people at Martin seem like the nicest people I’ve ever seen. Every single one of them. It’s amazing to watch. Not that the people at Gibson and PRS during the tours weren’t nice, but these people at Martin are next level. The world needs more Martin people.
Sitting right next to my d-28 satin finish made in 2023, which I bought used two months ago. A childhood dream come true! I'm so happy. What a stunner ... and the sound! Boy, the sound blows me away. It's worth every single penny spent! I have never owned such a fine instrument before and i love it... My poor wife
It is really great to get the craftmen and craftwomen interaction. These are the people that get the work done and it's a wonderfull chance to ear them talk about their knowledge and craftmenship.
I live only two miles from the factory and was totally excited when I heard that you toured the plant. I've toured the plant many times and am always impressed by the craftsmanship and final product. I have a few friends that work there and one of them showed us her amazing skill in shaping the bracing. I love your channel and and the amazing videos that you produce. However, I believe this is arguably the best one you have done to date. Martin is an amazing company and it was quite evident you felt blown away with your tour. The town of Nazareth and the surrounding area has a ton of history and beautiful landscape. I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy even a little bit of the charm of the area and hope you come back again... the factory tour never gets old. Regards, Chris
As with the PRS and Gibson tour videos, American manufacturing and craftsmanship at its finest! Great job to Lee and the Anderton's team! These have all been fantastic videos!
Recently got my first Martin - 000-15M - it feels and looks incredible and seeing how they’re made really illustrates how it came to be that way. Such care and craftsmanship. Amazing. Great video!!
Enjoyed this detailed tour of the factory in Nazareth. I went on the tour last fall and enjoyed it very much. It was my second time visiting the factory. The time before was in 1962 when I brought my dad’s Martin D-18 that he purchased back in 1945. The frets had warn down and it also needed the nut to be replaced. They did not charge for the work because my dad was the first purchaser of the guitar, you know the lifetime Guarantee. This was a tour of the new factory built in 1964, and compared to my last visit in 1962, the one thing I remember was the crowded atmosphere compared to the uncrowded atmosphere of the new factory. Thank you for all the questions and giving lots of time to see the surrounding work progressing on the guitars. It was an interesting tour and showed details not offered on the regular one hour tour. By the way I have Martin guitars that date from the 1880s to a D-45 made in 2001. They all play so well and are used when I play in the live cafés here in South Korea.
I’m thoroughly enjoying this. I first bought a guitar from Andertons in 1974. I first bought a Martin in 2001. This video production brings credit both to Andertons and to Martin. Thank you :-)
I took the Martin factory tour in the mid-1970s. I realize it's been a half-century, but it's night and day. EVERYTHING was done by hand back then. That quality is still the first priority, which is why Martin is still the premier producer of acoustic guitars. I met Helmut Schaller, the founder of Schaller Hardware, in the museum hat day. He was selling a prototype acoustic guitar pickup system. My luthier bought three of those funky solid-body guitars because they were scrapping them. If you ever get the chance to take the tour, DO IT! That part of Pennsylvania is absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you, Lee, for this exceptional and informative video of the Martin plant. As a purchaser of dozens of Martin guitars over my long life, and the current owner still of ten of their products, this video has given me an even better appreciation for the quality of their instruments. Not a day goes by that I don’t pick up at least one of their guitars to enjoy the sound coming from its body. This video was time well spent. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to bring this video to your followers.
@captainslickrules Lee, your childlike excitement in a guitar factory is so cool. From the smell of wood to the bloom of a power chord, you rep dad rock and childlike enthusiasm better than anyone on the internet
I've been fortunate enough to have been through the Martin factory and museum twice; this is by far the best video tour in the internet. Great job by The Captain and crew!
I don’t comment often but holy cow you guys made the best guitar content (imo) on you tube with this film. It’s epic. I have watched it over 3 days start to finish and I think i will go back to the start.
Thank you guys so much for coming and for this video. You stopped at nearly every station and gave love to some not very glamorous jobs. 1:53:12 Thank you for the work you do on this channel.
Lee, these guitar shop videos are top drawer man. I could feel your excitement in the Gibson shop video. I'm going watch this video later this aft. I don't have the time right now.
Excellent video. Many years ago I wanted to take a tour there but didn't. Thank you, and also for the staff at Martin, for their outstanding work and in depth tour that they gave you. This was far beyond a normal factory tour. If I were to buy a higher end guitar, I would definitely have them build one for me. Thanks to you and the Martin guitar factory.
Martin Lx1 all day. Best guitar from Martin in my opinion. So comfortable to play and very boomy for the size with some Earthwood acoustic strings. Would love to purchase LXM, it’s more durable from weather changes.
This was very cool to watch. I have a 1971 D-18 that I bought in 1971 at 11yrs old and I've been in love with Martin guitars since. I also bought a D-12 20 about 25 years ago and would love to take a tour of where both of them were made.
Been to the factory a few times now, and the folks there are very nice, very focused, and the majority of people that work there, stay there! I had a custom shop 000-28 where I got to pick out my bear-claw VTS top, custom inlay headstock, and a number of other features. They couldn't have been nicer! I would say how much I paid for it, but my wife might see this post! 😂
I’ve visited the Martin factory a little over a year ago and it was a lot of fun. If you haven’t checked it out, you should try to, it’s fun for any guitar enthusiast. I won two Martins as well and they are beautiful guitars.
Yes they should try electrics again. Good video by the way. (I watched it in parts) looks like genuine nice and passionate people. I loved every part of it. The best tour.
Really nice footage of the overall operation ! From the original factory to the new one ! And well done Lee on you getting away with murder on that neck 😅😅😅
Absolute artisans. The amount of hand work is amazing, while still being state of the art. You really see where your money is going. And no jewelry to damage the instruments unlike video I’ve seen of Gibsons.
Thank you Captain, crew and fine staff at Martin for this great video. Not sure how I can buy anything from Anderton to help support but thanks for your work. I ordered 3 Sire guitars tonight and you videos allowed me to do my research. Black Sire H7V, black L7 (cuz the H7V has P-90's and the L7V has too much white) and T7FM in blue. All left hand, long build time but I'm ok with it.
Just finished watching this ( I have it on while cooking - it’s taken two days ) This series has been amazing to watch and super insightful, I’ve watched them all. Any chance of a similar smaller series of British builders ? Gordon Smith, PJD, Patrick Eggle etc
Amazing! I love Americanand European factory where art and craftsmanship are so free to express as opposed to certain Asian factory where all have the same uniform and are like soldiers👌🏻…
I love these factory tours… Had you thought of going to smaller UK manufacturers and luthiers to give a comparison of scale and production values? Obviously the smaller companies can’t compete on scale, but can often do better in detailing (inlays etc) and quality control. Just a thought - could be fun! Also, if you went to Crimson in Dorset, you could have a look at the Dorset Guitar Museum…
My step father is a direct relative To C.F Martin, has the last name, he even resembles him. He is a very talented craftsman who excels at everything he does and i have convinced him, that this summer, by his name right, We are going to build a solid body electric Guitar. I will own an electric guitar, made, by a Martin.
I like these types of videos but it would be great to see stuff like Fujigen in Japan or maybe Yamaha, or Deusenburg. Perhaps other companies than just the big 4 American brands (Fender, Gibson, PRS and Martin). Just a thought.
The people at Martin seem like the nicest people I’ve ever seen. Every single one of them. It’s amazing to watch. Not that the people at Gibson and PRS during the tours weren’t nice, but these people at Martin are next level. The world needs more Martin people.
This has become the best guitar gear channel on the internet. Lee is a national treasure.
Ha ha - I’ll take that 👍
What nation though?
@@Timthecommenter guitar nation?
An international treasure!
God Save the Captain 🇬🇧🫡
I have watched 1 hour long tours of this same factory and been bored, where here I was thoroughly interested the entire 2 and half hours. Great job.

Martin guitar tours and entry into the museum are free. Worth every minute you spend there.
I gotta go! Where is it?
Martin Guitar is located in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. It is in the Lehigh Valley about an hour drive north from Philadelphia.
I live only two miles from the factory and was totally excited when I heard that you toured the plant. I've toured the plant many times and am always impressed by the craftsmanship and final product. As Lee says throughout, brilliant! That Stauffer at the end is stunning. Please, Martin, make more.
Best Martin video! a live a few hours from there.... I visit often.... It's like guitar heaven there...

I absolutely love what Martin is doing!
I did the tour years ago. Highly recommend even for non players.

After watching just about every guitar factory tour, this has to be the best hands down. Just amazing!
yess!!! ELECTRIC guitars -- bring them back Martin!!

@32:13 it also looks like a shelf full of Andertons logos. Thanks for the tour(s)!
I was thinking the same thing when Lee said I should take credit for this.
42:57 the finishing on that guitar 🤯

One of, if not the best and certainly the most comprehensive behind the scenes of the Martin factory. Great work 👍
I’ve been waiting for this to drop for months. Worth the wait.
WOW. So awesome, the craftsmanship, the facilities, and the history. I am as mindblown as Lee and I only watched on youtube!
Martin Lx1 all day. Best guitar from Martin in my opinion. So comfortable to play and very boomy for the size with some Earthwood acoustic strings. Would love to purchase LXM, it’s more durable from weather changes.
They're made in Mexico are they not ?
@@benallmark9671 they are. Which is probably why they are more “affordable”.

I love that beautiful part of PA. And my Martin still smells delicious years later.
Good job Lee! Great video. Thanks for posting.
As someone who build guitars as a hobby and a passion, it is so nice to see them shape a neck the same way I do. So cool,
That was amazing my fRiend has a 1922 Martin and a 1918 . I live in Pennsylvania and have never been there . thank you lee and god bless
I love these factory tours ! ❤
My D-28 and 0-18 are two of the best guitars I own. Martin really is an amazing company.
Very impressive, Martin's quality control is really top class.

This has been an amazing, informative series.
Cool tour !!
Mindbogglingly epic. Thank you so much for that.
Above all guitar makers, I can really see why the Martin acoustic guitar is worth the money they are just amazing

Fascinating and inspiring.
Looking forward to the custom shop special run fish'n'chip series!
Absolutely loved this from start to finish!!
Yes they should try electrics again. Good video by the way. (I watched it in parts) looks like genuine nice and passionate people. I loved every part of it. The best tour.
Thank you Martin I had my Martin D 15 M. Love it. ❤❤❤
Very nice and clean factory. Looks much better than usual in the US. Great instruments.
Really nice footage of the overall operation ! From the original factory to the new one ! And well done Lee on you getting away with murder on that neck 😅😅😅
Fascinating! Think I need a Martin now.
I was first at last !! ❤❤❤
It's embarrassing how many times Lee references PRS, this is The premier guitar factory.. I'm sure they groaned every time
Absolute artisans. The amount of hand work is amazing, while still being state of the art. You really see where your money is going. And no jewelry to damage the instruments unlike video I’ve seen of Gibsons.
Big money for those custom builds!! Brilliant tour ,very informative
Absolutely amazing. Made me want one even more. 👍
this is immense love these type vids man
Brilliant video. I loved Lee carving the neck.
Wow! You were right around the corner! Wish i knew!
I'm in love with the 5-18 Terz model. Give my comment a like if you'd also love to see an affordable version in their 2025 catalog
Amazing...what a wall of prototypes !!!!!!
I remember going to this Guitar tour is awesome and it was free at the time. I think that was like 10 years ago
these are the best videos ever!
This was pure gold!
watched the whole thing. Didn't check my phone once! What a fascinating video ☺

Fantastic video absolutely brilliant
That was really good that!
We need to see an Andertons tour of your facilities and shop now!!!
Amazing! I love Americanand European factory where art and craftsmanship are so free to express as opposed to certain Asian factory where all have the same uniform and are like soldiers👌🏻…

I enjoyed watching this
fantastic to document this important part of the Martin story for generations , thanks so much guys !

Lee you are amazing my.......friend..!!!!
So good thank you 🤟😎🍻💯🔥
When will you guys post a video of the Martin museum?
PS: Did you ask them about Brazilian Rosewood?
Wow...A Pity Ben wasn't im this one...He would have flipped...Brilliant Vid Lee
Audio glitch at 32:56
NICE! ❤ 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The ends of those necks at 32:30 look like hundreds of Andertons logos!
Lee is fine but he keeps interrupting that many times we don't hear the whole explanation that the tour guy wants to give
Great vídeo!
Gread job Lee
TEAM MIKE 💪💪
When was this filmed?
Would Martin ever bring back an original 1833 guitar set up for steel strings? I wonder if that may show up in 2033?
I wonder if you guys can visit an epiphone factory and a Gretsch factory in Japan
