This is a great demo, nice work! Always loved your older demo too! My CZ-1 and VZ-10m will go to my grave with me. Two phenomenal instruments I would be lost without!

@@MrWoofer you’re welcome! I also have a few Yamaha FM synths, my favorite is the FB-01. But I much prefer the sound of PD synths. They work well together together though. I’m likely biased since my 1st synth in the 80’s was a CZ230s. I had a guitar strap for it lol!
Keep up the good work. Look forward to more quality reviews from you sir.

I bought a VZ-1 a couple years ago in large part because of your excellent "Phazed" demo. Love how versatile it is!

I never understood why Casio was treated like a bad synth. I LOVE my V-1, VZ-10M, VZ-8 M, and my FZ-1 Many times musicians would approach me on stage wanting to know where I was getting my electric piano sound. They were blown away when they learned it was out of a Casio!

Because they had a digital watch makers name slapped across the rear panel. Most people put black tape over it but I didn’t care. My first synth was a CZ-1000, and then I bought an FZ-1 which was a long way ahead of others, even the FZ-1’s synth engine was an amazing version of the CZ series but a lot of people never realised what it could do and just treated it as a sampler. The waveforms were nice but the best thing about them was the 8 step envelope with the sustain step that you could put anywhere within the 8 so you could have amazing control of the attack and attack decay before the sustain step kicked in or do similar after the sustain step before the final decay step. In some ways it was like having a type of appreciator in each of the 6 envelopes so for people like me who learnt how to use them instead of just playing presets they were an amazing machine. Even today most VSTs just give a pathetic ADSR although some let you add steps. I learnt a lot about sound synthesis on those units and found that type of synthesis and layout easy to learn because it made sense to me. After that I got hooked on Ensoniq. I would like to get a VZ-1 and a Kawai K-5000. Too me they are interesting synth engines and despite the fact that I also use VSTs I do like to keep certain bits of hardware.

@@Me-sr9gn I have a VZ-1, a VZ-10M, and a VZ-8m. All are awesome! The 8 is actually the sound unit for my MG-510 MIDI guitar. I hate to say it, but I'll soon have to start selling all my equipment, including my beloved Casio gear. That's going to be hard to do!

Its easier to program then a Yamaha fs1r. Does the casio vz-1 have emulator or ppg wave type digital voices because i like it like raw early digital sounds.

A DX-7 can't do analog strings without distortion, so there the VZ wins.

I have a kodamo essence fm mk2 i still have it because i love sega genesis fm synthesis and i can make custom waveform for fm algorithms. Casio has its own uniqueness.

I am not sure it is better than DX7, - is it different. Has own pros and cons over DX7.
