are you doing this with a cold engine? or has it been warmed up?
Engine was cold
So how did you not get oil all over the place when you tilted that oil filter on its side 3/4 full of oil and screw it on?

No. Cool and level is what you need.
@@thisoldoutboard I sure appreciate your videos, (Impeller, oil change and foot oil). I have fished all of my life and my father was, at one time, an outboard wizard. However, he never really taught me anything . My first boat,(years ago), had a 1992 Johnson 48 SPL. I was much younger then and I never did a thing to the motor, yet it always fired up and ran perfectly. Older and wiser now..and with the age of RUclips, I felt it was prudent to explore doing these things myself. Your vids are by far the most concise and informative.
My current motor is a 2015 Yamaha F25LA. I found that your motor pretty much mirrored mine with the exception of the fuel filter which is easy to change in mine. You`ve saved me a ton of money in ridiculous charges by Yamaha service techs . I believe the last thing I need to do is change the spark plugs and that should do it. many thanks, friend.
