Fellow emetophobe, thank you for this video and for being open about your phobia. It's really easy to feel super alone in it, but when people talk about it it always shocks me how many people have this same phobia too, it's SUPER common.
Another emetophobe here! Haven’t been sick since I was 5yrs old but always feel like saying that will tempt fate!! It has reassured me SO much to hear your experience! I will think of you next time I feel nauseous 😂 if you can do it, I can do! Congrats hehehe 🎉

I really want to thank you for this video, I find myself always coming back to the specific video to calm me whenever I think about getting sick. The funny thing is, the last time I threw up I remember it not even being bad. It’s just been building in my head over time and it’s just confusing me. Thanks Alex for sharing your experience with the stomach flu, being an emetophobe too! Being vomit free since like 2001, I've built it up so much in my head since then that it's the worst thing in the world and your story somehow comforted me, so I'll definitely keep it in mind if I ever do get sick!
Thank you for talking about your emetophobia! Mine's gotten worse since childhood- I never used to get nervous on planes, but now I feel anxious just worrying someone seated next to me will throw up- ugh! : ( I haven't been sick since I was 7 years old, so over 20 years ago. It's so nice to hear somebody who has experienced the same thing! And very relieving to know it wasn't as bad as you were expecting it to be.
But glad you had a great time in NYC! Having watched you and Tess for years on YT, seeing your guys' kiddos play is so sweet ❤

I got sick for the first time in like 8 years and have had emetophobia for like 5 years and it actually was a ”relief” because it wasn’t that bad! But then i realised that it probably wasn’t the actual throwing up that i was so anxious for, it was the germs and the nausea😅
This was so inspiring! I too live with a fear of vomiting and sometimes it runs my life. I avoid many situations because of emetophobia. Thank you for describing your experience and providing truly helpful advice.

I got back from Brooklyn last Sunday and got blessed with a cold. I was a little nervous with traveling that I would get sick as the flu was going around. Thankfully just a cold and it's only now just going away >.< glad you're getting better!

I had an almost identical experience 2 weeks ago and the weakness was unreal with that stomach bug. I went a decade without throwing up like you and after becoming a mom it’s happened every year! 😩

Im also a huge emetophobe and a very similar situation hapoened to me after Christmas.
I had a panic attack at the onstart and things got worse. I too felt waaaayyy better after finally throwing up. Im not terrified anymore. I mean ya im still going to take gravol but i dont know if i will have such an overwhelming fear if it happens again.

I had the norovirus at the end of January and omg…. I’m not scared of puking and that made me terrified to ever get another stomach virus ever again in my life. The worst part was at the time I was 20 weeks pregnant and I had to go to the ER to get something to stop puking and get 3 bags of fluids 🫡🫡🫡
