ThredUp has a lot of loop holes and constantly penalize customers. They have a restocking fee even when they mess up. They charge you for returns. The rewards are a joke, again so many loop holes. I am returning my whole order since they have so many loop holes, new with tags and like new (yet they send crap quality and items/brands I didn't order), they spin everything so it's the customers fault. It's ridiculous and honestly a huge joke. Shop local not at ThredUp.
I agree - and for sellers, they sell what they don't list on ThredUp on eBay, but tell sellers they are 'upcycking' so they're literally stealing from sellers too.
Nice review! I have used Thredup a bit more over the past year too and have noticed similar issues. On a good note I recently found out that you can use your points to waive the restocking fee. I have also returned at least one item that had an error in the description, (inseam measurement was wrong) and I was not charged a restocking fee.
I use Thredup to be able to afford higher end items. I never purchase fast fashion. I also wouldn’t buy a jacket for $200, but I will when there is a sale, and it is $23! I bought an italian wool $400 jacket on sale there for $13 about 6 years ago. I still wear it all winter. As a seller, it’s a no. Too long to “receive” the package and really low payout.
What about sizing? I see their listed measurements and they don't match up to what a S, M, or L would be. So how do we know those measurements are correct or even close?
The measurements listed are *usually* close to actual, but pants/shorts are definitely a gamble and have been wrongly measured most often. Tops and dresses are usually fine for me. But in general I do wish they listed more measurements

Yep, they have loopholes and their clothes have holes.
I feel like whenever I see youtubers do a thread up haul, I see those same items included in a closet declutter video down the track.
HA! You’re probably right

Exactly. Just started looking at thread up and filtering by size is a pain in the butt because dresses by size M are 30inch or lesser in chest
I loved this video!
