It's the Warhammer 40k universe. Everything you do is part of an evil path, the only variable is just HOW MUCH evil it is.
@@sygmarvexarion7891 I'm hoping owlcat brings that 40k evil good guy. I always choose the good guy options in games. Be nice if the good guy option is now to either cleanse a million innocents to purge a dozen corrupted souls or later watch 30 billion people die as you didn't cleanse the chaos agents. There should be no good guy win/win answer.

Frame rate was very good. Definitely seems way more polished.
how is the combat? good? bad? meh? i hate turns based games for the amount of time the battle takes
@@RafaelCabreraAzraelSome early fights were a bit overly long, but the system is fun once you grok onto the details and set up hilariously devastating turns.

I can confirm that branching choices do matter in dialogues
When I played the beta I took some choices that were mostly aligned with serving the Imperium but at some point I took some merciful options that could be seen as questionable by the Inquisition and that is exactly what they told me about (mostly to blackmail my character rather than actually punish)
But I wonder what would have happened if I went on full imperial zealot path, I think I could have done it in such a way where the Inquisition couldn’t have collected dirt to blackmail me but then again they’d be able to count on unwavering loyalty instead I suppose
Not even an hour into the beta and I've already had one really, really hard choice. Can't wait for the full game!
Choices in rpg with impacts are always what i come for, this has my attention now

After finishing Baldur's Gate 3, if Rogue Trader can be 50% of BG3's "choices matter", we're in for another possible great game!
@@timezero8409 I mean bg3 is a better game than pathfinder kingmaker or wrath but those game do choices better then bg3 the bad or morally grey choices kinda just suck the only semi cool evil choices are the dark urge one
@@FictionalAestheticEvil choices in WotR were pretty bland, 90% of the time it's just senseless insults or random murder

I like how serving the emperor and helping the imperium of man aka normal humans are 2 separate faction choices, can't wait to see how you guys will motivate it in depth.

@@E_l0 if you finish the game and go full people helper then the imperium says fu and launches a crusade against your faction, every single one of your companions die or turn into inhuman dogmaggots which dooms the koronus expanse because in w40k everything and everyone is le evil and le bad, hated the endings for the game, so much for believing in the indomitable human spirit from the pov of the writers. Absolute dogs.

Agreed, hopefully so, but Wrath occasionally struggled, so... I have reservations about it. I ended up giving up cause the load times with Unity are atrocious

Ehhh, I would argue 30k was more like split between the two, because Imperium even then was xenocidal and still de facto dictatorial regime.

@@EasoLV The Imperium were genocidal only to those that actually deserved it, for the most part. They even ignore aliens that didn't harm humans.
@@holokom3330 As long as it's not Chaos I may even negotiate with orks if the situation will allow for that. After all convincing orks to die fighting my enemy would be better than them trying to kill my men, or other stuff like that.

Thank you. I've been waiting for a game based on my favorite universe and in my favorite genre for many years. And you turn my dream into reality. One more time. Thanks a lot. It will pay off. It just can't fail.
As someone who always chooses the "good guy" response, I REALLY REALLY need an RPG that doesnt exercise just obviously good or obviously evil choices. In 40k killing a few billion innocent people to kill a few Heretics is justified and encouraged. Or picking up xeno weapon to gain power is both heretical and non-heretical, depending on what you are going to use it for.
I hope this RPG presents these options and isnt going to be obviously a black/white decision tree.

I’m not too well versed in 40K lore. What does the 8 spiked star imply?.
An 8 pointed star is almost universally the symbol of Chaos. While Chaos is typically synonymous with heresy and the Warp, technically there are some subtle differences as in they're not exactly the same thing. The nature of Rogue Traders means what they often end up skirting the lines of what's acceptable and what's radical but not outright heresy. Also while Chaos is inherently evil, you could argue the Warp is more of a neutral force albeit a dangerous one.

На стенде Owlcat Games нам сообщили, что у них есть ответы на вопросы, однако попросили дождаться разрешения PR-менеджера. Им оказался Никита Путилин, бывший сотрудник 1C и «Софтклаба», который в итоге запретил сотрудникам студии общаться с российскими игровыми СМИ.
Со слов нашего представителя, он аргументировал это тем, что команда теперь кипрская, никаких связей с Россией не имеет и общаться с нами не может.

Cant wait for this! It's my 2nd most hyped game of the year after BG3.
One question remains for me: will there be different routes for the four chaos gods, or will we only be able to pursue undivided with maybe a slight focus on the individual gods?
The word bearers are confirmed antagonists, so likely it's undivided. Though I would expect slaanesh to be the most appealing god to a rogue trader.

Kroot and Orks are almost guaranteed. They’re probably saving them for DLC bait tho. The ttrpg also had rules for Tau characters.
I would love a Kroot companion, as I'm currently playing one in a game with friends. But just because they exist in the books doesn't mean they'll be added to the game. A Kroot specifically will be difficult cause it'd require a different rig and animations to any of the humanoid characters. That's why I'd really like to see them SHOW something like that... cause I can't hold onto vain hope that they might be coming.@@AnarexicSumo

I hope Calcazar will be serious threat, not as combat encounter (that would probably just result in save-scumming to defeat), but as someone who can ruin my reputation, my ship, my career. Some real incentive to play the Emperor's rules.

Hear me out, now. You may have heard me say "I'm rich" and assumed I'm one of those people who think they're wealthy because they get to run a planet or two in the Emperor's name. No, I'm *actually* rich. I own things and all the people inside those things.
So, now that I'm certain there is no equivocation at play here, I'll just have you waive those consequences and we may both be on our way.
This game looks awesome, I will definitely not pre-order and wait a week or so to see what others' verdicts are lmao. I hope that the people who made the WOTK masterpiece put the same love and care they did with that into this.

As long as this game doesn’t have any mechanics which hamper exploration, it’s going to be amazing.
In that same stride, I hope this game does have some emphasis on just exploring the 40K universe and allows for some adventures outside of the main story. WOTR is great, but it’s super linear
Well, you'Re not exploring the entire universe. Just the Koronus Expanse. Which, mind you, is still pretty damn big.

@@sandman4663 WOTR does not have time limits, you are thinking of Kingmaker. The only timed thing is a map change in the first chapter
@@eyeli160 WOTR has a couple unofficial time limits for the army campaign manager. If you don't reach X place by 3 days you get screwed, a few other unofficial ones like that. TBH it's possibly cuz the campaign management is just awful.
