Depends, the zoo did what is best for Genki! I commend them. They took her back after she suffered a lot from being in a larger troop. Just like humans, they are large families and there are small ones.
That Zoo is terrible, bad design , not reliable on medical treatment, their teeth are full of tart, their belly are extremely bigger and shows lack of good food, the only “ good “ zoo in Japan are the Ueno zoo in Tokyo. The rest are located in small cities with not a lot of resources.

This is a wonderful video of a happy busy troop! They have so many young ones! Always someone to play with has to help them not be bored like so many of the troops seem to! I wish Momotaro and Genuinely would have a troop more like this one!! Plus their enclosure looks very interesting compared to some others!

They're a happy family and this was most enjoyable to watch. I hear that Bauwi and some of his family are going to be sent to China whenever airline travel gets back to normal. That is really sad, I don't think they will receive the care and live in the beautiful habitats like Europe, far from it I'm sure. This will be an ordeal for the gorillas I hope they don't suffer too much.
I think it is not fair to split the close & loving family apart... Gorillas don't do well with change... We are blessed to live in this country... Stay safe ✌️🍺
I definitely am sad too they're leaving, but I do get the zoo. They want to breed again and Bauwi his genes are already well represented. They have to follow the breeding program. I'm happy the boys will be together, they know each other well and there will be no stress of introducing them to a new silverback. I do hope they get a good enclosure. It's just the way it works when they're in a breeding program. Stay safe everybody!
This is such a shame that great fully matured Baumwi would be sent away from his wives and family.Please keep him where he is and send his boys to other zoos..I wish zoos would keep families together and not treat them like genetic chess pieces.China had done nothing but continue wet markets and continue to kill endangered animals for foolish medicines ie mules..They have no rrspect for animals unless there pandas.Please keep this tribe together.
Some viewers say that Bauwi’s father was an incredible silverdad and that he loved to spend time and play with his kids. Shabani (Bauwi’s brother) is an excellent dad too. He’s always playful and caring to his 2 kids. I love watching Bauwi’s family group, so many kids. They’re beautiful. Thanks Lieke for this lovely video.

Definitely. They are like “ humans “ and have different personalities . For example Shabani, young brother of Bauwi , his very energetic, funny , loves to exercise and also loves his kids very much . Momotoro almost never exercises , just sit there eating and protecting his food from His troop. Shabani shares his food without problems
