Nice video - I really like the C&C games a lot. When I play solo, I always discard a random card from the hand after I play, then draw two cards instead of one. It adds a little fog of war, as well as some tension as you have to decide whether to use that good card now, or wait until a better time in the future and risk losing it!
Really nice video, I've had C&CN sitting on my shelf (shamefully) for a few years now with a single play, so I found this and your initial 'How to Play' video really useful as a primer for the game. With my limited knowledge of Napoleonic battles and tactics personally I'd have gone for trying the roll up the French from the flanks rather than a relatively unsupported frontal assault on the hill line, maybe with the British artillery pounding them from a distance. I appreciate this was an introductory scenario more about demonstrating the mechanics of the game though. Now looking forward to making my way through the remaining scenarios. Very much enjoyed this one!
Thanks, I'm glad it's of some use. I do forget rules left right and centre through out the video, but at least it gives you a good idea of gameplay and I enjoyed it!
Thanks for the good playthrough, which helps grasp the rules. 👍🏻👍🏻 A question : at 24:05 you say that the French has support and can ignore a Flag, but it only has one friendly unit adjacent, while you need two to boost morale. Did I miss something?
No problem for me. I also make playthrough videos, and I know that I always will get something wrong - I would presume that this is the case of most (war)games. Thanks again for your video. 👍🏻
Thanks again. I have been invited to the game austerlitz with command and colors. 8 players. Your walkthroughs are super helpful. Wish I lived closer. I would pop over for a beating 🤣. Atlanta is a bit down the road 😉
Cheers! I am glad you enjoyed the video. C&C is a great game, so I am sure you will enjoy it. I'd be more than happy to game with you, next time you're over this way...
At 23 mins I would have unleashed hell from the British cannons on the Heavy Inf in the woods. A ranged combat first and a melee from the second unit would have given you 5 dice before they hit back. Odds are you would have pushed them back if you didn't wipe them out entirely.
@@andrewmarshall3891 thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Tbh, I'm still learning to play C&C so I'm using this series as a way of exploring tactics in the game anyway.

That's a good idea and will give it a try in future. And thanks!
Great idea Jim - just copied! I used to play Stuka Joe solo rules but they become a bit too contrived after a while
Great tip, Jim - thank you. Like lateo74 I used Stuka Joe’s idea, but I think yours gets the similar ‘tension mileage’ just a touch more easily.

Really enjoyed that! I’m just staring out with CCN and it’s great to be able to learn the game by watching you first

Storm of Steel Wargaming; it’s all good! I learn new rules all the time - your explanations provide a solid start :)
@@lateo74 Thank you!
Thank you for this! Hmm, I'll check this out - it seems a lot of fun and a bit addictive!
Cheers, yep, it's a good game. All the C&C games are fun to play.

Thanks, don't worry, I probably just made a mistake. Don't take these videos as instructional.

@@StormofSteelWargaming btw. Loved your O Group Video too. Can’t believe the Russians pulled that off. 🥸
@@thekrausecollection15mmmin53 you and me both! Thank you!
Haven't gotten C&C Napoleonic's yet. I am rethinking that now.
You should definitely look into it, it's a great game both solo and against an opponent. and there's tons of expansions as well.

You're not wrong, I overlooked the opportunity, but that is the fog of war, I guess.
@@StormofSteelWargaming and you were focussed on making a video, which was really well done by the way. Hope to watch more of the other scenarios.
