Regular honey bees and Africanized Bees are entirely different beasts. Regular ones are pretty chill and don't go into hive-defense mode. Africanized ones are much more aggressive and you should never get near them without a suit and lots of training.
Exactly what I was thinking. I kept on referencing the buckets to myself whenever he'd say something. Like when he said the thing about putting the knife in the wood, I was like "I don't feel like using my knife bucket." That kind of thing.
I'm just amazed at how Bee Keeping is. When I was a little girl, there was a older gentleman that used to go to my Grandparents house. If he knew I was there, he'd bring me a jar of honey with a comb in it. And a beautiful Apple from one of his trees. I was sad when he passed on, I was really sad. But that Man made me fascinated with Bee Keeping. Where I live we aren't allowed to keep bees. But one day ... I hope I can.

*This dude takes down a bee hive with thousands of bees no problem with NO bee suit.* *I run into 1 bee and I run like someone just pulled a gun on me.*
@@arandomdude8584 Nothing unusual about that. Many amateur beekeepers do not wear any more protection than necessary for their particular bee strain and existing weather/flow conditions. I often work mine, during the May/June flow, without any sort of protection. The professionals with thousands of hives do not have the luxury of slow and gentle handling or waiting for better weather conditions. They work to tight schedules so wear suits allowing them to pretty much ignore the bees and do the hive manipulations necessary to get their work done on time.
Every year, when I was young, my school would do that fundraiser where you send animal's to people in Africa. And every year I'd fight to send bees. I always lost to the people who wanted to send a cow. We'd raise enough to send maybe one cow, but the same amount could send several hives. My argument was always that sending a lot of bees did more good than sending one cow, cause you can eat and sell honey. And if you sent several hives, you're handing someone a business. Where as one cow could only feed a family for a while. I think I always lost because the bees were a lower cost and therefore seemed less prestigious. Every class wanted to be the one that raised enough to send a cow. I also think it was fueled by sentiment, a large mammal just seems more valuable, when to me sending as many bees as we could would do the most good for the most people. It still bugs me that I couldn't argue that point better. Ad that every year the perceived superiority of sending a cow won out.

Kingdome Cthulhu these are nice bees, they just pollinate and grow. they don't sting unless you really really provoke them or kill them, specifically once you've doused them with smoke to make them dizzy. Wasps on the other hand...
Sure, gloves can be worn. However, since they reduce your feeling capability, you are more likely to crush bees accidentally - thus causing the hive to become defensive. This in turn often means you now have to don a suit and veil. The full suit slows you down and makes working the bees more difficult.

I was scratching the whole time watching this video. You didn’t wear no suit or no gloves? You have a hell of a gift in life. Most experience I’ve ever seen
The one surprising thing I find is you doing all of this without a bee suit o-o
Nut'n to it. ;)
Meow Woof I would need Wheeler's ring from Captain Planet. #FIRE
Or the Fiendfyre spell from Harry Potter
Imagine if those were africanized.
Breanna Thompson he would be dead
Hell no.
There would be no video
Felxion true
No
Those bees are so calm!
For some reason I’ve been obsessed with bee removal videos.. it’s just so interesting to see it happen
What is brood? Is that young bees that haven't hatched yet
It's bee larvae.
Damn!.... no gloves? No suit?? Wow beast mode!
My favorite part of this was when you said a "sittin' on bucket" :)
+Jensen Payne Everybody needs a good sittin on bucket. :)
I recently captured a swarm in a nuc box. I didn't think locking them in was an option. Hope they're still there when I get back to check on them.
I wonder how is he not tempted to eat the combs.
Aviv Gannon right
Probably cause a mouth full of bees don't feel good
A mouth full of pollen would feel horrible
Too much brood
he does, sometimes.

a sittin on bucket
~ My brother keeps bees on his property in Louisville, KY, and I now also find this whole subject so fascinating. Thank you for your work and your very interesting videos. Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
Thanks for checking us out David.
beautiful creatures
Indeed!
As I watch this and all of a sudden feel as if something's crawling on my leg ffs.
How did you know they were drone brood?
The cells are bigger and the caps on worker brood is more flat.
Oh okay thanks!
I've always wanted to have beehives....just never had time. About 3 yrs ago I decided "let's do this".... I joined a local beekeepers group, went to meetings & a local keeper here was gonna help set me up at low cost...but, more I learned I figured my current life just wouldn't give me time to see after em...so I decided to wait...again... I'm facing retirement soon so perhaps then.. Your vid inspired me... NONE of those keepers would do what you do. . (no suit or gloves) you're the man! Safe travels... Subscribed
Hurricane Katrina more like hurricane T O R T I L L A
StarryPainter50 I knew someone would say this lol 😂
Do you really not give a damn if they sting you
Sully Brewer They cant kill you. he only got a few sting. He would onky have to go to the hospital if he got hundreds of stings
Sully Brewer unless you are allergic to bees they aren't that bad. (1 or 2stings)
Frank Torrez and the ones that stay with the hive generally don't have stingers
Cheeki Slav he mentioned before that he can take 150 stings like its nothing because he has a built up a resistance to it from years of beekeeping
Oscar Bird Music I wonder if he would rather get stung by few hundred bees or eat a Carolina Reaper pepper.
5:03 .................... is that.... a bee vacuum? I want a bee vacuum.
+Piggy Craft Yep
+Piggy Craft i do to :D
+Piggy Craft same
You really just need one of those vacuums that can suck up bees, and keep them inside, or just kill the bees.
First time keeper and a longtime viewer. Just wanted to say thanks for posting these videos they have educated me and my friends, especially those who can't believe how gentle the bees are. Though you are making me miss the deep south, lived over in Morgan city for a few years
So glad we've been a help to you. Thanks for the support.
Somebody make 5:37 a meme

I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING AAHhhaghH
@@MuzikBike thought he farted for a second
Okay
Lamp is for all species of bub especially Beee
This man's a legend he is doing this WITH HIS BARE HANDS I MEAN DAMN
Many, maybe even most, hobby beekeepers do not wear gloves when working their bees, unless absolutely necessary. Gloves are the LAST protective item a beekeeper would need.
Poor bees. They just want to live, make honey and sting kids. They don't know any better.
Life just isn't fair. ;)
Poor bees? He could have poisoned them and been done he took the time and gave then new home
Rees Freeman they gonna learn real fast where not to live lol
@@mikisteryr6406
poison them? Do you know how insignificant humans are to the earth? We could disappear and the world would flourish.
If bees, ants, certain insects were to vanish - humans would die.
Alright we get it, humans suck, thanks kanye for the message weve all heard 5 times a day since we got in high school. You sure are above everyone else. I wish i could be like you.
I used to be terrified of bees, because I was stung when I was little. After watching your videos, my whole attitude has changed. Amazing little critters. Thanks for making these!
Thanks for the views Jared.
