My Uncle had bee hives, when I was 9 yrs old I had a swarm enclose my torso and left arm from a tree I was stood under. I didn't panic and slowly and carefully, so not to frighten them, followed my Uncle to an empty hive and they walked from my arm into the hive. It took 45 minutes, and I remember being fascinated looking and eventually finding the queen. Not one sting, nothing, I remember they were heavy and warm, and smelled wonderful.
My Uncles friend said I was now Bee touched, and now that they knew me, they would never hurt me.
I've picked up Bumble Bees who have gotten too heavy with pollen, and helped them. Honey Bees often land on me. Over the years I've often had Bees walk on me as I've been gardening, never once have I been stung. They are very special creatures. People don't realise how much we need them, they're an important part of the worlds ecosystem.
Great video, I really enjoy watching people working with the Bees to save them.

I love your videos. I recently diagnosed some carpenter bees at my moms place and I wasn’t afraid to get up close to them anymore since watching you stay calm and have no issues. Cool little all black guys in the trim around the garage in northwest Washington state, gonna wait till mid summer when they move out to fill the nest.

You seem so calm on the ladder with NO suit or protection on. How do you do that with out freaking out and getting stung 1000 times ?

Cynthia Cler I’ve done so many of these & been around bees so much that I have confidence in what I’m doing & am always paying attention to what the bees are communicating to me, yes they do give signals if you know what to look for & how to interpret those signals. And the smoker is a beekeeper’s best friend if used appropriately.
      Thank you for watching! 👍🐝

Your video is the only one I've seen that showed the queen long and clear enough for me to be able to tell which one she was. That was a very large hive that looked like had it been in boxes there would have been 2+ brood boxes and 3 or 4 supers at least.
