    Was wondering what those little lights are on that shelf and what fertilizer do you use for your orchids?

    • @OrchidsByBryan
      @OrchidsByBryan  7 месяцев назад

      I use 2 orchid nerd quick release fertilizer for 6 months each and then I use a 20-20-20 biweekly!

    Great collection. Although i thought your phalaenopsis lucky star looked like it had a terminal spike coming from the top leaf. Was hoping to get a better shot of it. Lol anyways thanks for the great videos

      Thank you so much! It’s possible! It’s one of my older plants so we shall see if it sends a keiki for me! :)

    Hi Bryan !
    After watching your video I decided to get some grow tents. I live in the south of France, and my growing conditions do not allow me to properly grow certain orchids. Too dry in summer, too cold and humid in winter (the growing room is unheated) I particularly like Cattleya. I have difficulty managing watering. How do you know that your Cattleya need water? Do you give less water after flowering? Is a slow release fertilizer enough for Cattleya? Thank you for your very informative videos. And for your answer. Christophe.

      Hi Christophe, thank you for the comment and I’m so glad I inspired you building a grow tent for your collection. I would say watering depends on the Cattleyas you have in the collection. The common message from growers when you think you should water, wait a day and then water. Cattleyas are forgiving orchids and they need to dry out between watering. I water my Cattleya hybrids once a week and fertilize every other week. I would recommend looking on line for care tips on the orchids you have but I think this advice could be a good starting point for you! Good luck and happy to answer any other questions! :)

    5:27 Is the Lucky Star a summer blooming type orchid like the bellina?

    • @OrchidsByBryan
      @OrchidsByBryan  7 месяцев назад +1

      My lucky star hasn’t stopped blooming since July! So I’m not sure when it’s official season is. But it is prolific that’s for sure!

      @@OrchidsByBryan The summer blooming or polychilos type orchids can stay in bloom all year if they are kept warm. The bellina and violacea are two of them. Those are the young ones from J&L.
