I’ll say this.. I worked at Helium Comedy Club in Indianapolis for about a year and a half…. Kyle Kinane was by far the nicest, most down to earth comedian I’ve ever met at that club. I’ll never forget that 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

@@shsnrod17 Ralphie May is the dude who made me somewhat comfortable being a overweight dude his way of thinking and how he spoke was inspiring I wish I could have actually gotten to meet him and Pinette too both of them helped me through hard times of being bullied in school horrendously but they helped me turn that anger and self hatred into me having a amazing sense of humor about it and fighting bullying by joking with them I know they were bullying but it threw them off track so much that they actually stopped except for one but that got solved with two week suspension and a history text book

'Wildman poet' is such a great descriptor for the way he handles stories, turn of phrase, ad-libs after punchlines. "Relinquish your grasp, hellions!" as an afterthought is unmatched. Although I'm not sure what I respect, relate to, and admire more: how much fun he seems to have sculpting sentences or his degeneracy and how honest he is about it. My favorite comedian!

I walked up to Mr. Kinane before his set and thanked him for coming through my hometown again cause I had missed his show 7 months prior. He leaned in my ear and said ‘Hey, don’t tell these fuckers but they’re gonna hear a lot of the same shit I said the last time through’. Dude is kinda the best.

In the morning I listen to stand up before I go into work because I work at an inpatient substance abuse treatment center (you hear a lot of sad stories) and I was listening to Kyle and my husband asked “oh was he a patient?”. Lol he was totally serious and that has made everything Kyle does even funnier to me since then.
Thank you for doing what you do. It took me 6 inpatients before it stuck. I'm coming up on 16 years of sobriety. My children have never seen me high or intoxicated before. You're a Saint. I know your job can be depressing, but I remember miss Betty and Miss Cheryl who'd let me sneak a smoke at night when I couldn't sleep or let me shower when my skin was crawling and i wanted to scream. I really do appreciate you! We do recover.
As a recovering addict who also works in substance abuse/mental health, I find myself listening to stand up on the way to work as well. Definitely my favorite form of self care
