Bo Burnham got popular through RUclips, and if you look at times he's met up with other older comedians most of them don't know who he is. Yes, Sam Morril is closer in age to Bo, but Sam tours and otherwise does NY clubs. Bo's never been in that circuit, so the odds that Sam has seen all, most, or even *any* of Bo's material is pretty slim. Most NY comedians only really know material from other traditional comedians and oftentimes only because they watch the other sets at the comedy clubs or their friends' specials on Netflix. It's extremely likely that, given it was a one-liner, it was just a bit of clever wordplay that Sam thought up for a short bit in otherwise unrelated hour of material. People like you that act like one single circumstantial overlap in material counts as "joke stealing" are the actual joke.

That line did get a big laugh. But the craftier punch line followed this... "...then he forgave me... so... probably was a man." (and for the record, he said furious - not "mad.") - furious makes it a better joke than mad, tbh.
This is how you do dark humor. People always use "dark humor" as an excuse to say awful, unfunny things. This shows that it's totally possible to say awful, *_funny_* things if you put the work in and do it in an intelligent, ethical way!

Honestly, Amy Schumers promoted ‘stand-up comedians’ are what this country needs at the moment - they’re the masculine balance to the poisonous culture in this country. Both comedians: Normand and Morril: male, introverts, and culturally biting.
Not even 5 minutes in and the baby wearing the "I love life" "he would grow out of it" had me laughing...then it hit me again a few seconds later like "ohhhhhh I see what you did!" This dude is a genius.
This dude is too good. He's doing very well for himself but in my opinion he's so unique and intelligent that no one quite knows what to do with them to blow him up because he's probably the smartest guy in the room half the time and he's also the funniest. I know, I got to get off his jock but he just seems definitely A Cut Above almost the entirety of stand-up comics other than top 10 current Legends. Anyway, this dude is on his way
Lots of depth here, loved it. The audience were a bunch of dead fish, but Sam seemed unphased. Total pro and I will look for more of his videos. And one more thing- nice to see the topic of Atheism come up. As an Atheist myself, I am glad to see others that are not scared to bring it up in a room that is probably full of theists. Bravo.
Theists probably don't go to late night stand-up comedy shows unless they are absolutely sure that the performer holds the same views as themselves. They prefer echo chambers, or churches, as some people call them.

Man I really enjoy Sam's comedy but I have such a weird appreciation of it in that, I'd never say he's the funniest comedian I watch, but I can always appreciate the writing and his delivery is just solid. It's the over all demeanor that keeps me coming back for more.

Comedy Central has been releasing old specials lately. Trying to squeeze every dime out of the content they own before they go completely under lol. Its worse than MTV these days.
Very funny! Very funny! The bit about girlfriends wanting to change a man reminds me of my husband’s best friend. When we started dating, my now husband told me he had standing plans with his friend to go to a bar for “wing night,” every Monday. Ok.🤷🏻♀️ Then a few weeks into our dating relationship, he asked me out on a Monday night. I said, “what about wing night?” He told me, “I would rather spend time with you than eat hot wings in a smokey bar with my friend.” (His mom and aunt and two uncles had all died of smoking related illness within 18 months of each other…his mom had passed away only a little over a year prior.) So, I asked him what his friend said about him not going to wing night? He started laughing. He said, “that’s how it starts.” That is when I gave him the talk: “If you decide to spend time with me instead of your friends, you need to make it clear that it is completely your idea. You are a grown ass man, I will not tell you how to run your life, and I don’t find it cute for people to think I am dictating where you can and can not go at any given time.” Then I asked him if he thought it was sad that his friend had some sort of recollection of when his wife first started dictating his life to him? We joke about “that’s how it starts,” all the time. His poor friend. We have been married for 14 years and, as adults, we are free to decide what we will do independently of each other, because we are still grown ass adults.

I said, “what about wing night?” He told me, “I would rather spend time with you than eat hot wings in a smokey bar with my friend.” (His mom and aunt and two uncles had all died of smoking related illness within 18 months of each other…his mom had passed away only a little over a year prior.)
So, I asked him what his friend said about him not going to wing night? He started laughing. He said, “that’s how it starts.”
That is when I gave him the talk: “If you decide to spend time with me instead of your friends, you need to make it clear that it is completely your idea. You are a grown ass man, I will not tell you how to run your life, and I don’t find it cute for people to think I am dictating where you can and can not go at any given time.”
Then I asked him if he thought it was sad that his friend had some sort of recollection of when his wife first started dictating his life to him? We joke about “that’s how it starts,” all the time. His poor friend. We have been married for 14 years and, as adults, we are free to decide what we will do independently of each other, because we are still grown ass adults.
