The synopsis is basically implying that there have been heroes in this world for a long time and Superman is the new guy on the scene somewhat. Not really new new, but moreso less older than the other heroes, and he's trying to be good in a world which has kind of forgotten what it means to be that. The heroes in this universe are probably a lot more brutal. I like that tbh. No origin stories, we're just being dropped into this world that is already living. Some of my best stories have worked like that.

I think this is going to be a good Superman film, genuinely, but as with Suicide Swuad, Gunn continues to show he is not a rewarding visual filmmaker. Master storyteller, but awful when it comes to shot composition and color grading.

After what Marvel did with the MCU we need to get away from the thought of heroes as obelisks. Even if they made just a one-off Superman movie, and there wasn't a universe of other movies with it, why not have other heroes as supporting characters in it? There are SO MANY characters in this. Guy Gardner (the Green Lantern with the bowl cut), Hawkgirl, MISTER TERRIFIC (love him so much, you can see his T-Spheres making the barrier that protected him), even Metamorpho (the dude with the weird face, you could see that his shoulders were different colors, it looks exactly like him, (he's played by Noho Hank's actor BTW) and then obviously Lex and Krypto are in it too (there was a second Lantern in the shot with Gardner, I think that might've been John Stewart). People thought the robot might be Brainiac, but Superman had a robot servant at the Fortress of Solitude and that *might* have been him (that's just speculation though). And that guy fighting him in the stadium MIGHT be Ultraman (there was another shot not in the trailer of him with a U on his chest), who IN THE COMICS is an alternate version of Superman from a universe where good and evil are flipped. There's a chance that could have been a doctored image though, who knows...if that IS Darkseid (the guy who Lupa couldn't remember the name of), that would be AWESOME. The movie looks INCREDIBLE judging by this. James Gunn can do no wrong.

Too all the people saying "it's too many heroes" and all that, how do you set Superman up as the heroes hero? By putting him in a world full of heroes and having him stand tall where they couldn't. This isn't an origin story and it was never going to be so the next best thing is to give us a world that was already established in some fashion and go from there (not unlike how Spiderman Homecoming had Peter already being Spiderman for quite a while). Superman is the symbol of hope while being the beacon of humanity even at his least powerful moments, this movie is to establish him as such.
I love that we get to see young Superman who’s figuring it out and taking the hits for it to show his humanity. As well as seeing young Luthor. If they do him right, we are about to see GENERATIONAL levels of petty and hating 😂

As someone who has never gotten into DC due to the many projects they have, I'm excited about this Superman movie. It's the first movie in this new DC universe that I can just get into off the bat.

Nah I disagree with Sheera respectfully with that one, personally Spider-Man 3 is genuinely one of my favourite movies of all time. I will say the pacing near the end was veryyy fast and could have done without Venom since Sam Raimi didn't want to include him in the movie in the first place because of his limited knowledge about the character, but I feel like the movie was good anyway.

For some reason, it really feels right that the teaser ends on an embrace. Not a kiss, not major action, an embrace. This trailer gets so much right, but somehow that sticks with me.

And that guy fighting him in the stadium MIGHT be Ultraman (there was another shot not in the trailer of him with a U on his chest), who IN THE COMICS is an alternate version of Superman from a universe where good and evil are flipped. There's a chance that could have been a doctored image though, who knows...if that IS Darkseid (the guy who Lupa couldn't remember the name of), that would be AWESOME.
The movie looks INCREDIBLE judging by this. James Gunn can do no wrong.

Too all the people saying "it's too many heroes" and all that, how do you set Superman up as the heroes hero? By putting him in a world full of heroes and having him stand tall where they couldn't. This isn't an origin story and it was never going to be so the next best thing is to give us a world that was already established in some fashion and go from there (not unlike how Spiderman Homecoming had Peter already being Spiderman for quite a while). Superman is the symbol of hope while being the beacon of humanity even at his least powerful moments, this movie is to establish him as such.

YES!!! This is how you present Superman!! We have not had a comic accurate Superman on the big screen since 1980 (Superman 2 with Christopher Reeve). That's 44 years, very tragic for DC fans. Humans who don't read Superman comics, have no idea how he's supoosed to be, the movies have been messing him up, and it breaks my heart. The King, The Original Superhero, the Daddy of them all is finally here, and as a life long Superman fan, Terrance can't wait.

To me this is how Superman should be represented and displayed everytime. You can have the him go through dark moments but at the heart. He should always be a symbol to inspire others and give hope to all. That’s why him and Batman when done right together balance each other out in so many ways. Let’s finally embrace the fantastical nature of dc foreal while still telling different stories with these beloved characters.

Nah I disagree with Sheera respectfully with that one, personally Spider-Man 3 is genuinely one of my favourite movies of all time. I will say the pacing near the end was veryyy fast and could have done without Venom since Sam Raimi didn't want to include him in the movie in the first place because of his limited knowledge about the character, but I feel like the movie was good anyway.
