Just purchased the Pro. Ive wanted a tank for like 5 years but never really had the disposable income for it. Decided to buy this one as its so beautiful. I LOVE soviet tank design, just something about the proportions is amazing to me.
Is there a T-90A of the same quality made by this or a similar company? I'd really like an RC tank, I have a few model kit tanks and a cheapo plastic Leopard 2A6 RC tank but I want a really nice one, preferably of a modern Russian tank.
I just got one a week ago. My only criticism is it's really easy to dislodge the tracks from the drive sprockets. All that's needed is a small piece of gravel or stick to get caught between the track and the sprocket, and the track will dislodge and sit on top of the sprocket teeth. The tank will still run (I don't even notice sometimes) but the sprockets can slip since the teeth no longer engage with the tracks. There are some guide disks near the center of the sprocket which help keep the track centered. However, they also prevent the track from re-seating itself. Re-seating the tracks is done by pushing on one of the road wheels to cause some slack, then the track can be forced back.
@@firelordazula386 I 3D printed a plastic collar that goes inside the drive sprocket. It keeps the alignment teeth from falling outside the guide disks, so the tracks reseat themselves.
@@jitihunt21 I've bought several spare parts through Amazon: The plastic gearbox lasted less than a year before a tooth got chipped off, so I ordered a steel gearbox. A suspension spring broke, and some of the suspension arms are getting severe wear, so I've ordered new springs and new suspension arms. The Heng Longs have a bunch of "upgrades" hoping you'll buy the cheaper tank (like I did) and then spend more money when it wears out (which I'm now doing). It's better to spend the extra money on a tank that includes the metal wheels (which have bearings to avoid wearing out the suspension arms) and the steel gearbox. I did have a piece of the hull break and was able to 3D print a replacement for it. Overall, my T-72 has held up through some extensive use (driving an hour or two daily through gravel and sand)
Great review! 100% accurate. I love the tank. He is correct it does take about an hour to attach the accessories. The sound is excellent and matches the real thing. However, it really struggles to gain traction in short grass. If the grass is wet almost no traction. The climbing ability is low too. This tank really needs hard soil with no obstacles. My Tiger I with metal tracks performs better. The King Tiger struggles a bit in Grass too. Could use some decent decals.
Hi! It does have 2 opening hatches, the commanders hatch does work, they just got a bit zealous with the glue. Get a smallish flat head screwdriver, and prise it up carefully, it will open. It’s on another review.
Just a FYI the full metal version's will split the lower hull in the front . The plastic can't hold the weight and split at the front road wheels. You gotta add brace to strengthen it up.
So is it better to choose the S version rather than the Pro series which is full metal? because the S series is only metal in the driveshaft and dynamo gears

I have a question on when it says in the instruction paper it says to not drive on long grass or a lawn. Does it mean I can’t drive it on grass or long hard grass?
Jim I'm Joseph. I like the tank. But ware I put the bullets they all end up inside the tank. And don't shoot can you help me with this issue please. Thanks.
I'll be ordering it in the next few days in the standard version, with photo etched parts and ball bearing system. With the ERA additional armor he looks pretty cool! . But now to my question: Why so many decals on one vehicle, you once put an Iraqi version, Guard Panzer Army and GDR NVA decals on it, that doesn't make any sense to me!?! . You should first find out which unit has decals on it and wants to use it, and what kind of camouflage paint which unit had. I will definitely make some parts movable, the turret machine gun, headlights on the turret and the coaxial headlight on the right of the cannon, which is actually connected to the tube with joint struts. In addition, add a rough cast structure to the tower itself using plastic resin from Vallejo 20ml tube, which almost all of the Russian vehicles had
I came across an r/c tank at a thrift shop. I can't find any real brand name. It's still in the box, and has features such as firing airsoft and a built in laser. Looks to be from the 90's, but that's just a guess
you have to upgrade it by yourself. buy the 360 degree tank ring and install it the henglong has a lot of accesory for you to buy if you want to upgrade your tank
I bought a professional Abrams tank with the metal tracks. but it seems that the tracks are too heavy for the motor to move the tank very well, making it very hard for the tank to turn, or go over very small hills. do you have any tips on how I could make my tank work better? I saved up for a very long time, and I am very disappointed in it.
I had plans to buy a second Heng Long next year, but it doesn't look like it will happen. Previously I bought a Heng Long Leopard 2A6 and now it has been sitting in the warehouse for 7 years. It's very difficult to find spare parts, it's strange that they keep releasing RCs but don't follow up with even spare parts...
by the way they only have one type of motor with different gears. plastic, metal and alloy... if you want to increase the power of a dynamo then you have to DIY, aka modify it yourself with a dynamo on the market. Had to rebuild the dynamo mount
Please clean off the left-over runner cutoffs from the parts you are assembling. This looks like a very nice kit. I would be eye sore with all those spruce leftovers on the parts.

It triggers me gently Heng Long decided to go with wrong ERA kit as "upgrade" for their T-72. "T-72" tank in their offer is closest to T-72A and ERA kit for these uses characteristic wedge shaped layout on the turret front. What HL went with is correct layout, but for T-72B which in turn uses different turret with characteristic cutouts on turret roof, where composite armor is located, hull also would have to be altered. Ironically, reusing most of T-90 hull/turret and giving it this ERA kit would result in convincing T-72B tank
basic maintenance will avoid rust and corrosion and by that I mean dry it off if the wheels get wet after use, also metal is better because it lasts longer then plastic especially if you use it quiet a lot or if you use it rougher terrain, its also generally harder to damage hence why its better
